The good: The LG Fathom is solidly constructed with a bright display and a roomy QWERTY keyboard. It comes with Windows Mobile 6.5.3, and has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It supports CDMA and GSM networks for use worldwide.
The bad: The LG Fathom's resistive touch-screen display is not as intuitive as we would like. We also noticed slight sluggishness with its accelerometer and image refresh rate. The LG Fathom's bulky exterior might not be for everyone.
The bottom line: The LG Fathom is a well-built Windows Mobile phone with plenty of features, but its occasional lapse in performance can be annoying.
2nd worse Phone I've ever owned!
by 1AZtekkiechick on April 12, 2011
Pros: NONE.. nothing, it is horrible.
Cons: Does not display incoming call; phone will dial someone that I haven't even had open to call. Screen switches randomly with out cause makes it a pain to unlock. Annoying to try and wake from standby mode. Randomly opens programs which then cause phone to
Summary: It has to be one of the most annoying phones on the market. As tek friendly as I am this phone is a pain in the butt to use and ...

Worst Smart Phone I've Ever Had
by mikewelch7 on December 22, 2010
Pros: Sadly, nothing, although I really wanted to like this device...
Cons: Unintuitive user interface poorly designed
Familiarity with device does not increase ease of use
Launches calls mistakenly due to poor UI design
Summary: After having used this device for fourth months, I curse its existence. It has one of the worst, least intuitive operating systems I've ever used. It flips its view ...
Summary: After having used this device for fourth months, I curse its existence. It has one of the worst, least intuitive operating systems I've ever used. It flips its view randomly, often in the midst of overly complex finger navigation. It dials numbers (in the background) of people whose contact details you had sought only to view, leading to awkward conversations or explanations of 'pocket dial error.'By the way, the 'official' CNET review (on whose advice I bought this POS) should be made to discard her iPhone and live with the LG Fathom as her sole means of connectivity for two years as punishment for her misleading review!! I'll think twice before trusting CNET again!!
I got this as a Blackberry replacement, but would gladly take back my older device. It was one of three phones offered to my corporate plan when I opted to stay on Verizon for coverage.
Four months in, I'm looking to replace it.

Absolutely Terrible Phone
by LoneSentinel on December 21, 2010
Pros: Sleek design, gesture feature is kinda cool.
Cons: No mobile-hotspot, resistive touch screen is terrible and has calibration issues, task management capabilities are horrible, operating system is poorly designed, web browsing is slow and a pain to use, runs into low memory problems frequently.
Summary: The resistive touch screen is terrible and not as responsive as its competition. The screen also needs to be pressed harder than it should in order for screen to register ...
Summary: The resistive touch screen is terrible and not as responsive as its competition. The screen also needs to be pressed harder than it should in order for screen to register the touch. It comes with a stylus...really? I thought that was phased out with those old-school PDAs? The Windows Mobile operating system does not flow well and is horrible at task management, don't even try to multi-task with this phone. I really hope Microsoft can shape up for its Mobile 7 build. It does not have mobile-hotspot which would have been a great feature. I found navigation through the phone to be a pain, mostly because of the screens lack of response. Runs into low-memory problems frequently so you have to go into settings>system>task manager then find the tasks in order to free up memory, and you must do this every time. The accelerometer is often slow to orient the screen correctly. The topping on this piece of work is that the camera button is on the side of the phone and is easy to accidentally press while using the phone (an annoying problem if it puts your memory over its limits). In conclusion, don't buy this phone.
I was expecting more from the camera.

Pros: The design is actually very good. The touch screen with the resolution of 480 x 800 is also great. And it's true that the low RAM is pointless. My rating for this cell phone is 8/10
Cons: I found that because of the camera the video clarity is not that good as compare to other mobiles.
Summary: The good thing about this mobile is that it's look. I can call this as an entertainment as well as business mobile. The navigation facility is also good. But ...

After less than a week I hate this phone

Summary: This was a replacement phone from Asurion, (not happy with them right now either), the phone it was replacing was no longer available, so this was one of my two choices. The Palm Pixie was way too small so I went for this one. After less than a week, I hate it. When the touch screen will work properly I can't I can barely navigate to make a call, let alone do anything else, the screen sometimes responds to my touch but often doesn't. I will press 5 and it will register a 2 and more like that. I may not be very tech savvy, my last phone was an LG Env touc, but I am not totally stupid. But I feel stupid when trying to use this phone.

Summary: I love the phone itself, but the internet does not allow certain programs to run such as pandora, yahoo fantasy sports, redbox, yahoo music and I am worried that my NFL sunday ticket wont work.....we will find out. It is also very disappointing that windows based phones have next to no aps available online. Everything is made to work on the I-phone.
