LG Marquee (Boost Mobile) price range: $109.99 - $249.99

The good: The LG Marquee has a svelte and ultralight design that complements its stunning Nova display. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi. Call quality is great.
The bad: I don't dig the LG Marquee's sluggish performance and oddball Mobile ID customization feature.
The bottom line: The LG Marquee's slim design and jam-packed feature set make it Boost Mobile's flagship phone. But its high price (even without a contract) and slow processor will make it a tough sell.

Poor Battery Life

Summary: I have owned two of these phones for 1 week now. My husband and I both purchased this phone from the Boost mobile website. We wanted a sleek looking 5mp camera android phone on a no-contract service with a good service.
In response to the review that had issues with the SDHC micro SD card, my husband and I bothe were able to use 32g SDHC micro SD cards successfully in our phones. Perhaps there was a manufacturer defect in your phone.
We did the research, and purchased it knowing about the 4 cons mentioned. I have to say they were right on target. It's sad that this is the best phone Boost mobile has to offer. I would have gone with the transform ultra, but it only has a 2mp camera.
*BATTERY LIFE: The battery life is a bit worse than expected. It gets 2-3 hours max (nowhere near the 5 hours it claims) and this is with a fresh brand new phone and battery. I bought lots of extra chargers to go with it (car, work, purse etc.) and plan to just charge often.
*FREEZING UP: I knew to expect this when I bought it based on the reviews I read. Between our two phones, only mine has frozen up (once), but we have only had the phones for 1 week. I got a call and could not answer it because the touch screen was not responding. When this happens, you can't even turn it off. The only way to fix it is to take the battery out.
*SLOWNESS: This was a bit better than expected. It's not THAT slow. The worst is initially opening a website, and streaming video because it needs time to buffer. Everything else seems perfectly fine.
*EXPENSIVENESS: I would not feel like it was too expensive if it had a better battery life. If they made the phone better that way, I would gladly pay the $300 (with tax) for the phone. Instead, I paid it begrudgingly knowing the phone is not exactly what i want, and there were no better alternatives.
*WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?: I guess yeah. In this case, I think the service provider must be considered as an integral part of the phone. I chose Boost because they are a no-contract unlimited service at a reasonable price. I chose them over Metro PCS because they piggyback off the Sprint network and get better service (I have Metro PCS friends that sometimes don't get texts for several hours/days). I would have never gotten this phone with a contracted service provider, but it's a compromise for a great no-contract service.
If you are gonna go with Boost mobile, and you don't care about your phone looking sleek and cool, and you don't care about the bright pretty screen, and don't care about the 5mp camera, i recommend the transform ultra instead...otherwise this is your best option (unfortunately).

*DEFECTIVE PHONE RECEIVED: After owning my phone for only 10 days, it stopped charging. We tried setting it to "charge only", turning off all apps etc, but it would not take a charge. My husband has the same phone (his still works) so we swapped the batteries, and my battery worked fine in his phone, but his did not charge in my phone.
Boost customer service was NOT acceptable on this issue. They would not do a simple exchange out the phone, even though I got the $5/month insurance. The phone is 10 days old for goodness sake, and They wanted to refurbish it...same with the manufacturer warranty. I decided to return it. Any option i pick is going to leave me without a phone for 3-8 weeks. They acted "sorry" on the phone, but made no attempt to correct the situation.
Updated on Mar 20, 2012I would like to add that I spent at least 3 hours calling different phone numbers to get my phone fixed. I called on Saturday when it broke, but they don't have any warranty people that work on the weekend, so I had to wait until Monday. I called Monday morning when they told me I could go through the manufacturer or the $5/month insurance people.
I decided right away not to use the $5/month insurance people because the phone has a $100 deductible even with the insurance AND the phone was only 10 days old.
I decided not to go with the manufacturer warranty because they were going to refurbish my phone.
Finally I had to call "bright point" the people who handle returns for phones purchased on the Boost mobile website. They told me that I had to pay the shipping to get the phone to them, AND the return would be processed in a minimum of 3 weeks, and could take up to 10 weeks.
Despite speaking to MANY supervisors, no one could offer me a simple exchange for this defective phone.
Updated on Mar 23, 2012We have 2 of the phones...we each successfully used 32g micro SDHC cards in our phones...my phone did end up breaking though. I posted a review about it.2 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

The Marquee is a great little phone.
by MajGeek on March 13, 2012
Pros: It's small, lite, and slim, so it fits in your hand comfortably as well as your pocket. Even though it might not be a "High end" phone, it feels pretty snappy.
I am currently running the Marquee with a 4GB MicroSDHC card which it runs great.Cons: No 4G, Only 1GHz processor (But still runs great)

GREAT PHONE!!! :-)
by wetbiker7 on June 12, 2012
Pros: Light, slim, FAST, cheap, and on the Boost shrinkage plan. You can't beat $40 a month which is where I'm at.
Cons: Battery life. I just bought 2 extra 1800mah batteries and keep a charger in the car. No worries.
Summary: This is an awesome little phone that does what's it's supposed to do and more. The phone will need to be rooted to unlock it's full potential ...
Summary: This is an awesome little phone that does what's it's supposed to do and more. The phone will need to be rooted to unlock it's full potential but once that's done you're off to the races. Mine is running at 1.4GHz right now and IT WILL support the larger sd cards. I'm running a 16 GB class 10. The screen is awesome too and has very vibrant colors.
lmao!! The phone most certainly does support the larger cards. I'm running a class 10 16GB card right now.
I'm glad the I bought the LG Marquee.

Will not support SDHC memory cards!!!
by bdaddy04 on March 6, 2012
Pros: Good phone with great screen and capabilities, if you're willing to stick with the initial memory capability
Cons: You cannot upgrade your memory card, despite what any reviews or LG tells you. This phone will not support SDHC memory cards, so you're stuck with 2gb memory cards because no one makes any standard SD cards anymore!

Summary: The only reason I wrote this review was to try to get the word out there to people that you cannot upgrade the memory card to anything about 4gb on this phone. I bought the phone from Boost and was excited to upgrade my memory using a 16gb micro SDHC card I already had. Low and behold, as soon as I put in the new card my phone starting acting really strange, freezing constantly, not allowing me to view pictures or videos that I had taken, etc. My phone froze completely any time I tried to access any of the data or media on the new memory card, and the only thing I could do to get it back was to do a battery pull. I contacted LG support about this and was informed by an LG support tech on their Live Chat that the phone does not support SDHC memory cards and I had to stick to standard SD. The only problem is you can't find standard SD cards anymore, at least not in anything about 2-4 GB (at least not that I found, and I spent several hours online looking). This phone is mostly great except for this one problem, but it's a very big problem in my opinion.
tl;dr This phone doesn't support SDHC memory cards so don't get too excited about upgrading to more memory0 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.
