The good: The competitively priced LG Nexus 4 delivers a pure and polished experience with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, it's powered by a snappy quad-core processor, and it's packed with new photo-editing and camera features.
The bad: The Nexus 4's construction is solid but uninspiring, its call volume is too low, and it lacks 4G LTE.
The bottom line: While the LG Nexus 4 wins on internal performance and user experience, anyone shopping for an unlocked phone should consider a comparable LTE handset first.

Summary: Great phone with the latest hardware and software. Best thing is it is affordable without a two-year contract. This allows you to use a service comparable to the big four, but at a monthly cost that is significantly lower. I am going to enjoy using this phone on a carrier like simple mobile with unlimited everything for $50 a month rather then a $100+ monthly cost with AT&T that is limited.
Unless you are torrent downloading on your phone, the speed difference should not matter to your. For me it's worth the extra second it takes to load a webpage. People don't understand what Google is trying to do. The practice of subsidized phones hurts the industry.
What is not acceptable is the lack of removable storage, which is a staple for the success of android phones. Although Google's cloud based options ameliorate this, it is still something that should have been included and is why I believe the phone is not the very best phone available (Samsung Galaxy S3).
Nonetheless, this will be one of the best phones on the market, and will still be capable of HSPA+ speeds that exceed 20mbps. That's if you want to pay for them, and you can thank Google for giving you that option.6 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best no-contract phone on the market today.
by jpmonteith on March 3, 2013
Pros: Latest version of Android at all times. NFC, wireless charging, clean design. Beautiful screen. Amazingly inexpensive monthly no-contract cost with some carriers. Freedom to use any GSM carrier.
Cons: Camera is only acceptable. LTE for only Canadians, but in the U.S. the cost difference ($30 versus $90 per month) makes it a feature that only the fiercest road warrior would need.

Summary: If you can live with a slightly slower cellular data speed while outside of a Wi-Fi connection then this phone will not only be an amazing device but one that will cost you less than half per month what a contract device will cost on a major carrier. Save over a thousand dollars and roll with one of the most modern phones on the market. I returned an iPhone 5 to carry one of these and have not regretted it for a single moment and I am saving enough money to easily buy another unlocked phone each year. Highly recommended.

Summary: I am an apple fan I have used/owned many of their products including all iphones, macbook pro/air, ipod, and imac. I have never had issues with any of their devices they are high quality, easy to use, but it was time for a change I really felt I wasn't getting anything new with the new iphone 5.
I was hesitant to switch to Android after hearing so many complaints about fragmentation, lag, bugs, lower quality apps compared to ios, etc. After hearing about the Nexus 4 getting pure android, contract free, and hearing that it was considered the best android experience yet I took a chance, and I am quite glad that I did. I have not had any issues finding apps that I used on my old iphone.
I have really enjoyed the larger screen. That was one issue that bugged me with the iphone 4/4S/5. I am still able to use the phone with one hand and I by no means have large hands. It is much more enjoyable to browse the internet, read books on my kindle app, watch videos, and the phone easily fits in my pocket or front chest pocket on my Arc'teryx jacket.
I do miss Siri's sassiness, but Google now is better. Rarely does it misinterpret what I am saying and if you are a big user of google services such as gmail, google maps, google drive, etc. android integrates those services seamlessly.
Notification system is also top notch and much better than ios. I was pleasantly surprised by this.
It feels great to be able to customize my phone something I was not able to do on ios.
The biggest issue I hear is the lack of LTE. Unless you have an unlimited plan (which I do not) and do not have access to wifi I don't see any issue here. I use AT&T HSPA in Rochester, MN and my speeds are good. Web pages load up fast, video is fine.
Battery has been good for me with a mix of updating os, downloading apps, talking, text, youtube and came around 24 hours and 28 min before it went completely dead (this is with NFC, bluetooth off, and slight adjustment in screen brightness).
If your looking into trying Android can't recommend this phone enough. Heck if your looking for a new high quality and well priced smartphone contract free this is THE phone to get.2 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: This is my 3rd Android phone, first 2 being a G1 and G2x on T-Mobile, and this is the Android I've been waiting for. The OS is polished and finally feels cohesive. The phone it's self has the processor power to make every transition and animation fluid. Data speeds average around 12Mbps on T-Mobiles HSPA+ network in Minneapolis. Phone has a very premium feel to it and even though it is made of glass it feels very strong and sturdy. I do wish it had an SD card slot but at the same time I have come nowhere close to using up the 16GB of on board storage. This is by far the best phone I've ever owned.

Summary: I really really like my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I picked it because I got tired of AT&T and iOS. I thought by ignoring the slew of Android devices that seem to come out every other day and picking a "Google" phone I would get the quickest updates. Wrong, apparently Verizon likes to play by their own rules and has painfully and slowly released updates. So the great news is that Google has bypassed this by releasing the Nexus 4 unlocked. Which means you use it basically for AT&T and T-Mobile. But if that was bad enough by laving out Spring and Verizon they also left out 4G since that would have to involve carriers. At $299 8GB or $350 16GB your getting a great phone at a great price, but why 8GB? 16GB is almost too small. I have held the phone and it's awesome. It keeps the save looks of Galaxy but luxes it up with a glass back with a cool design. Is it iPhone quality yet? No but it beats Samsung's cheap plastic feel. The phone is fast, real fast, well at least when it comes to non data movement since the phone doesn't have LTE. This is a bummer since I can't get it for Verizon.
Without having LTE the Nexus phone takes 2 steps forward and one giant step backwards. It okay with HSPA+ considering T-Mobile is based on that whole system and iPhone 4S users dealt with it, but it's still sad to see such a great phone like this lack such a universal feature. The one caveat to this is, at least people don't have to deal with carriers bull on releasing updates anymore.3 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.
