The good: The 4G LTE LG Optimus G Pro is reasonably priced and has an impressively fast Snapdragon 600 processor, and its expansive screen is sharp and bright.
The bad: The Optimus G Pro's size will prove too big for some, and battery reserves drain quickly.
The bottom line: Though it lacks a stylus, the Optimus G Pro is not only armed with high-end specs, but it's also still cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 -- making it the best AT&T phablet available now.

Pros: 5.5 Full HD screen, ultra fast processor, 32 internal memory, 2GB of RAM, Dual screen Camera, Lower price than the Note 2, Front LED notification light which changes colors for different notifications
Cons: I can't really think of any.

A GREAT PHONE, GREAT SCREEN, AND GREAT PROCESSOR
by guytek on July 27, 2013
Pros: Processor is fast, 13 megapixel camera is quite nice, nice 1080p resolution, top notch battery life, Excellent customization, plenty of bells and whistles, excellent natural colors, and large 5.5' screen. Fast. oh and an led notification light.
Cons: If I have to give a con I'd say its that when trying to get the battery to drain completely so I could charge it, I had a substantial amount of trouble getting it to lose juice. And really this is a plus anyway.

Summary: Buy this phone, you will not regret it for a minute. You'll get the best of google, the fastest phone I've personally ever used, and a very sharp display. You'll also get an excellent camera, and a well built phone as well. Excellent display and fast quad core processing just wraps up what is already a fantastic bundle.I just wanted to add that this phone would have been perfect for me if not for the applications I had to run. For photoshop and illustrator, and anything of that nature(though there is photoshop touch I think) you still need a proper computer with ideally 8gb of ram and fast 2.7ghz speeds. It is the highest performing smartphone I've ever experienced, but its got no chance as a computer replacement in the future. Programs that require power require a computer, point blank(tablets with computing power are great as well). But since no smartphone runs those things, I do not hold this against lg. I just wanted to clarify that fast and powerful are relevant. Any task that this phone can naturally do will handle excellently (3d gaming included). But outside tasks will have the same problems. Don't spend money on a smartphone if you want a computer, resist the smartphone urge and buy a computer if you want one. That really was kinda pointless, point is great phone, so go buy it! if u need a p

The LG Optimus G Pro is Awesome!
by SpaceAgeDroid on July 10, 2013
Pros: 32 Gigs of phone storage! Beautiful vibrant screen! Super fast! Nice 13 mega pixel camera! Home button is exotic by lighting up for notifications! Very thin! Very light weight! Easy to hold in the hand without feeling too big! TV Remote is a plus!
Cons: The music could use an extra tune-up to become more louder with adjustable equalizers and bass, although its fair.

Nice big 1080P Screen Phablet
by sbowen29 on July 5, 2013
Pros: Replaces my phone and my tablets. Very strong hardware meets very good software in a phone that replaces many devices.
Cons: Lack of case availability. I ordered one from Ebay, but it will be awhile before I get it.

Summary: I have had the phone for a week now and replaced a Motorola Atrix 2 with it. Atrix 2 was a fine phone, but wanted a bigger screen, more ram, better processor, and longer battery life. The Pro screen is incredibly colorful and bright. The hardware is exceptionally fast and LG software with Android is very nice. I had tablets for mobility, but I am ditching them since now my phone multitasks and replaces my tablets. The LG keyboard is also very nice since it adds the numbers on the screen without having to shift or use the symbol button while texting. Camera is very good and does fairly well in low light. Battery life is exceptional for a screen this size and I get about 15+ hours of life using the phone a lot the whole time. Standby time is really amazing, on the order of days. The LG rapid charger is neat an recharges the phone from 0-100% in about 1.5 hours. The quad core processor and 2 gigs of ram make even the most stubborn apps run flawlessly. The phone fits neatly into my pockets and I ordered a flip case for it on Ebay since there are none available in the USA yet. It was half the price of the competitor's similarly sized phone and I can't imagine a phone doing anything else. It is amazing! Well built also with metal edges and scratch resistant plastic. Very light weight and buttons located in very good positions. Buttons are also back-lit! For as much size as it has, it also is compact and fits neatly in anyone's pockets. I own the competitors device in a tablet and the LG phone whips it pretty handily. Definitely worth checking out. Time to sell my tablets and old phone on Ebay.Oh yeah, I also wanted to comment on the 32gb built in storage and SD card slot. This phone has 32gb of built in storage so most people will not need to use an SD card, though there is one available. My last phone was hit by viruses wiping out many family photos before I could diagnose and correct the problem. The internal memory on the phone remained in tact...having internal memory is great especially with cloud storage etc...

Did I mention the screen is amazing on this thing? My battery is at 34 percent and it is 10pm. I love this thing. Just make sure you go to the battery settings and optimize quad core battery saver, install Juice Defender, and this phone will last more than a day on a single charge. It really is great. Can't say enough about it.
Updated on Jul 15, 2013It was so cool. I was showing pictures of my kids to a friend who had the iPhone 5 and it looked like a postage stamp or a 3g version or something. I laughed and thought, wow my kids are so much brighter compared to yours.
I tested the 4g LTE in the rural area where I live and it was twice as fast as my home internet.
Still haven't gotten around to selling my tablets on Ebay. My guess is they aren't worth much anymore.
Its midnight and I have 50% battery still without a single recharge today.
So impressed by this phone :)

The BEST SMARTPHONE on the market
by Sidge1 on June 5, 2013
Pros: Size: Even though its large screen, its width is better than Note 2, easy to function with one hand
Battery (charges fast and last a long time on medium use)
Cons: no good cases

Summary: I was a dedicated iphone"r", i jumped ship to the galaxy line on the S3, then i wanted a big screen, then went to Note 2, which i absolutely loved, i moved and had to switch carriers, and I didnt want to pay the 300 price tag for a new Note 2, but the sales person showed me his phone which was this LG Optimus Pro G, and i played around with it for an hour at the store on the demo, I was so impressed and decided to try it out for a few days,
I dont regret leaving Samsung, I love that it's almost a 1/4 in skinner width wise so i can hold on to it, this phone is not getting the media love that samsung creates, this phone is THE BEST PHONE,
The battery on this thing is amazing, i think the Note 2 lasted a little longer, but I wasnt on LTE, and being on LTE surfing the web kind of runs the battery down, if you keep the web surfing to a minimum the battery last a long time.
I went from Iphone 4, 4s, Galaxy S2, S3, Note 2, and now this one, and It is by far the best.

Super awesome amazing right-priced
by microbhai on November 8, 2013
Pros: awesome for videos. Stills are fine too. Battery life is decent. Size makes it easy for tying and reading. Very smooth operations.
Cons: Sometimes I feel that is a little big. I can't make call/dial using voice command through my car's bluetooth. That may be compatibility issue rather than issue with the phone.
Summary: Awesome. Don't go for galaxy when you have this one and it is atleast 100 dollar cheaper if not more. It has the same awesomeness with a much bigger ...

Power user and I'm finally happy!
by iceman721 on September 30, 2013
Pros: Powerful, great screen, great battery life, 32GB internal storage with SD storage & removable battery. Nice quality construction feels great in the hand.
Cons: Speakerphone is not the best. Speaker is itself adequate would be better with front facing speakers or even stereo speakers in the bottom. Neither of these is a deal breaker by any means. One of the few things I would improve.
Summary: Let me first describe my usage pattern. I am what I would consider a power user. I travel frequently so network matters to me (which is why I'm on ...
Summary: Let me first describe my usage pattern. I am what I would consider a power user. I travel frequently so network matters to me (which is why I'm on AT&T, I've done T-mobile & Sprint in the past). I use up a good amount of data for both work & personal emails. I use my GPS navigation both Navigon & Google Maps frequently. I also keep well over 100 apps on my phone. They are used on the regular. I edit documents on my phone as well as review them. In my downtime I listen to streaming audio & video as well as movies I usually put on my SD card.
I have been on Android since Day one. I have also had an iphone (4) and used 2 versions of IOS. I prefer Android. This phone has incredible battery life. I can go in for 7-9 hours hard in my demanding hands and not have a dead battery. My Samsung S3 prior to this barely would go 5 hours under that type of use. Moderate use in my hands will go 12 hours easy. That's a big accomplishment.
The screen on this phone is incredible. 5.5 inches of pure joy. It is crisp and clear. Colors are vivid and sharp. It is brighter than my old s3 screen without the annoying blue hue. I was always part of the team that said 1080p doesn't matter on a screen this small. I was wrong it does. Reading documents or books on my kindle app is great on this. The text is crisp and clear.
The LG UI gets a ton of criticism in many reviews. After using this phone coming from 2 Samsung phones with touchwiz and a Nexus with pure Android I like this UI. I have found it very easy to transition too. It has no lag and doesn't appear to be as heavy an overlay as Touchwiz.
The 32GB of internal storage is nice and the pricing is consistent with other phones 16gb models. Having this amount of storage internally as well as my 32gb SD card is great. 64gb in a phone is more than enough space for me with movies, games, gps maps, music and a ton of apps installed.
Outside of the speakerphone and external speaker which could use improvements every other aspect of this phone is outstanding. LG has made a product which leaves most other Android phones in the dust. Samsung does a great job of marketing but to me this phone is better than their most popular offerings. I would take this phone over an s4 or either one of the Note's 2 or 3. This phone trumps the spec's in the Note 2 and rials the real world performance of the Note 3. Great job LG!
Flagship phone specs for a bargain price!
by phrancis1 on September 25, 2013
Pros: -huge 1080p display with slimmer body than the NOTE2
-fast processor with 2 gigs of ram
-lots of built in storage with upgradable memory
Cons: -no stylus
-craptastic android skin
-weird button placement
-camera could have better low light performance
-hard to fit in skinny hippster jeans pocket

Summary: I just bought the white version of this phone a few days ago from ATT, out of contract and unlocked for $400. I went straight to T-mobile and got a much cheaper unlimited no-contract plan with 4G LTE working just fine. I love this phone! I've been an HTC fan, with their beautiful skins, for many years, but the limited screen size and storage on their recent offerings almost had me buying a Samsung Note 2. I'm glad I researched and found the cheaper, yet better spec'ed Optimus Pro instead. The article review is pretty spot on. I would have loved a better quality camera, no custom android skin, stylus, and different button placements, but all the other tech attributes at this price is simply awesome. Sure, the upcoming Note 3 is better, but way too expensive and while the rumored Nexus 5 might be a tad cheaper, it probably won't have a 5.5" screen and certainly won't have upgradable memory and batteries. I just wish there were more cases available for this unknown and underrated LG phablet...
Worth The Wait!
by mindsci on August 8, 2013
Pros: I have had smart phones since my UTstarcom. I have had smartphones from HTC, & Samsung. They were all ok, but just ok. So, I waited 2 1/2 years! for everything to finally get to where all the tech, software, & features needed to be. The LG is it!
Cons: Oh! it's too big! Oh! it wont fit in my skinny jeans! or my tiny hands! Wah, Wah, Wahhh!
Seriously! It fits fine in all my pockets and in my hands, and I don't give a crap what others think when they see me use it.
Summary: Sure there will be better phones available for the holidays, and next spring, and next summer- OR WILL THERE? Phone tech and performance are as good as I or most ...
Summary: Sure there will be better phones available for the holidays, and next spring, and next summer- OR WILL THERE? Phone tech and performance are as good as I or most anyone will ever need for at least a couple of more years- or wait, what about 4k?
Seriously, I don't do scientific modeling on a phablet nor will I ever. That's what my Tesla multi GPU based SuperPC and 47" Hi Def monitors are for.
The LG Optimus G Pro is a superb, finely crafted, and high performance Pocket PC/Phone or Phablet.
Oh, and if you're too insecure/cool to say "Phablet" maybe you should get a crapple for those low-rise skinny jeans.
