  Extremely Poor Screen Quality

  Summary: I have to admit I am disappointed in the phone. I am stunned at how bad the screen image is. I had no idea that the criticism of this issue was totally valid. I thought it was perfectionist talk. The screen clarity is bad enough that I would recommend people wait for an improved model to come out before buying this phone. I can't imagine Motorola will do this again with all the justified criticism coming out about this. If I had just upgraded from my Droid2 with no extenuating factors, I would return the Droid4 and wait for the next model. However, my wife broke her Droid2 and it didn't make sense to pay $100 dollars to replace it (insurance costs) when I could upgrade my Droid2 for $150. So that's the only reason I ended up with the 4. Even so, I've been agonizing about keeping it, because every time I look at the screen I get annoyed. I think over time I will get used to it, especially if I avoid looking at higher quality phones. But Motorola really blew it on the screen.
  
  The speed of the phone in 4G is very good, coming from the Droid2. There's no comparison and it's awesome to use. However, we still have unlimited data plan and without that I'm not sure I would want this blazing speed, as I feel I would easily go over the allotted minimal amount of data they are limiting people to these days.
  
  It is much larger and bulkier than the Droid, but with that comes a nice large screen. If it was a crisp clear screen to look at, this would be a huge improvement. With the quality of this screen, I'd prefer the size of the Droid2. As with the Droid2, this phone is slippery and I have already ordered a rubber skin to keep it from slipping out of my hands.
  
  They keyboard is very nice, but it's not so much better than the Droid2 to justify the screen issue. I don't have pudgy fingers, but someone who does would probably greatly appreciate this screen. However, it is backlit way too brightly for night time use and cannot be adjusted. I've already submitted a request (among others) to Motorola to address this in the next update.
  
  The camera I have not noticed to be significantly better or worse than the Droid2. Outdoor pics are just fine for my needs, and that's where I take most of my pics. I don't expect phone cameras to perform great inside. I haven't tested the HD video quality on a screen other than the droid. On the phone it looks good.
  
  Some minor annoyances that I don't understand is the changing of the location and direction of the power charging input. It's reversed position in the lower left corner of the phone is a pain. It's right in the way of where you would hold it if you are right handed, holding it in your left hand to use. I always have to reverse my plug before putting it in. I could see former Droid users accidentally damaging the input port by trying to put the plug in as they're used to. Why make these changes?

  My first jump to the Smartphone world

  I chose it for the full slide out keyboard, and I am glad I did, as I don't really like using the touch keyboard for texting. I keep making mistakes. I can't really think of anything more I could ask of the phone, that another phone does better.
  
  I guess it sometimes freezes and stutters while playing fruit ninja, which was included on the phone. Seems odd to me, why include a game thats too taxing on the phone to run smoothly? But I have always been able to simply press the home button to come back from any freeze. So the phone never froze, just the application. I haven't had any problems with the core functions of the phone though (texting, calling, calendar, calculator) so thats good.

  Overall a good phone.

  Pros: Front and back camera is nice to be able to skype. I love the keyboard and it is super quick. I would like to be able to get an extended battery, but so far the battery life has sufficed for me.

  Cons: No removable battery. I have had the phone for 3 days,and right now i am staring at a frozen screen which i or verizon tech supp. can not fix. I have to wait to go back to store and get replaced. Needs a reset button to avoid this.

  Great phone, don't listen to the whiners

  Summary: I have had numerous Motorola phones and other crappy brands (LG and HTC to name a few) and this phone is a winner. It is lightning fast and the display is good enough for most users. While the display can be a little grainy if you are too close, it is still a great display. I love how smooth the OS and apps feel when you use the phone. Battery life is great, better than my previous Droid X, and it is running on 4G. I have had no issue going all day on a single charge. However, I am a little worried about the battery not being removable/replaceable. All of you bootloader whiners, stop dragging down good phones. If you want to root the phone buy a different brand. While there is some extra preloaded software on the phone, this is not an issue given the on phone memory and available SIM slot. Finally, the only brand that truly hold up to a beating is Motorola, and this phone appears to be true to that philosophy. Overall, I high recommend this phone if you want a physical keyboard.

  Super fast, awesome physical keyboard, ~15 hour battery

  Pros: Very Fast. This is my first android based smartphone (coming from a blackberry curve), and I'm impressed with all the customization features and the speed. Internet works great as well, even with your regular 3g network. Great video and pictures.

  Cons: The only problem I've had with this phone is it does have kind of a weak battery, and it's non-replaceable. That's a real bummer. I get through my day (7am-11pm) at a moderate usage and it needs its charger by 11pm.

Samsung did a great job with the Stratosphere, its asthetics are SOOOO much better than the clunky Droid 4. Yes the Droid 4 looks like a smaller version of the Razor, also a clunky square phone but its uninspiring. The keyboard is great, one of the best, I must say but thats about it. So if you're willing to spend $200 bucks for a little keyboard on a Droid X screen with 4G then knock yourself out. I'll pass.

  Power Users Beware

  Pros: Swift - Dual Core and fast processor make a big difference.
  4G LTE is a wonderful improvement--but a battery hog.
  Key Pad is well made and operates smoothly.
  Good screen, albeit no AMOLED.
  UI seems better than I am used to.

  Cons: BATTERY IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR INTENSIVE USE. After just a couple of hours, you can SEE the battery level declining. It will not last a full day for me.
  There is a little "play" between keyboard and screen. It is obnoxious.

  Summary: Unless QWERTY is your personal divinity, "this is not the Droid you are looking for".

  I had one. The battery was not removable. A "pin" like tool is given with the unit, but only to remove the battery COVER. The battery itself is NOT removable. I SWALLOWED THE SAME STORY: "removable battery". NOT SO. I confirmed this with tech.s on phone and also when I swapped it out for a RazrMaxx.
  
  This deficit is unacceptable to a power user.
