Motorola Droid Razr 32GB - black (Verizon Wireless) price range: $275.00

The good: The Motorola Droid Razr has an attractive, slim, and lightweight design that is also water repellent and scratch resistant. It has a fantastic 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Verizon's 4G/LTE speeds, plenty of multimedia features, corporate and government grade security, Webtop functionality, and decent battery life.
The bad: The Motorola Droid Razr's large size might feel awkward in small hands; we expected better picture quality from its 8-megapixel camera; and the battery is not removable.
The bottom line: With its razor-thin design, jam-packed features, and blazing speed, the Motorola Droid Razr is easily one of the year's top Android smartphones.

THE-BEST-SMARTPHONE-EVER
by chevalierjd on May 25, 2012
Pros: Blazing operating speed, consistantly quick online connection, large screen capable of supporting every business app I can think of, dockable with Motorola "laptop" station where RAZR acts as the CPU.
Cons: Smaller speaker port makes some speakerphone functions hard to hear. Battery life is a little less than what I'd like, but not as bad as you may hear from others that don't actually own the phone.

Summary: This phone is exactly what I wanted. A phone that can act as a small tablet; powerful processor; upgrading to Android 4.0 and beyond; great cellular and internet connectivity; gorgeous screen quality; very slender design for unobtrusive carry in pocket - even with the Otterbox case. My RAZR's battery life lasts about a day and a half before absolutely needing to be recharged. But here's the thing - I run about a dozen corporate business apps, have all my calendars and email account refresh every 15 minutes, and use Go To Meeting, Skype, and other energy-draining apps most of the day. Also, if you want a computer-like experience that some of RAZR's competitors have, just buy the Verizon "docking station" from the online or actual store where the RAZR acts as the CPU and you can access the internet without anything other than the RAZR's 3G/4G data connection. I LOVE THIS PHONE.

Summary: the basic model has such a short battery life even when running minimum apps. Since the battery cannot be replaced, you can easily end up with a dead phone 1/2 through the day. this forces you into the RAZR MAXX for twice the price. stay with your current phone until can afford the MAXX

horrible build quality, brutal customer service
by notnmuch on March 15, 2012
Pros: looks nice, very ergonomic, when working has some great features.
Cons: first one fried within a few weeks, the HDMI dock was broken internally. They sent it back to me un-repaired. they then sent me a refurb unti that worked for less than 6 hours before rebooting constantly. gets worse
Summary: I made a huge mistake buying this phone. I hope you don't make the same mistake.

Summary: I see a lot of people have been complaining about the battery life for this phone. Well, as I have found out, no great smartphone has great battery life. But here's the good thing about the Droid Razr: it has an app called Smart Actions. If you know how to use it, then you can improve your Razr's battery life significantly. This is what I did with mine: I activated all of the battery-saving features like Battery Extender, Nighttime Battery Saver, Low Battery Saver, Charging Reminder, and Home. With the Battery Extender feature, I made it so that the background data synchronization and GPS would be disabled every time I turned my screen off. With the Nighttime Battery Saver feature, I made it so that whenever I forgot to charge my phone at night, it would disable the background data synchronization and save battery. With the Low Battery Saver feature, I made it so that the background data synchronization and GPS would be disabled and that my phone would notify me if the battery level was less than 25%. With the Charging Reminder feature, I made it so that my phone would remind me to charge my phone if it was less than 35%. With the Home feature, I made it so that my phone would connect to Wi-Fi everytime I came home. Having all these features activated has helped improve my phone's battery life significantly. I highly recommend activating all these features if you really want to optimize your phone's battery life. And if you haven't started using Smart Actions yet or don't now to, then now is the time to learn. So start using it! I hope this helps!

Compare to 4s, should I buy Razr?

Just curious that should I buy Moto Razr? I like it a lot, but when I saw comments that the battery and kevlar swell that is big deal. I don't want to buy unsafe phone or just everage phone as the price is very high.
So
1. Do you guys have any problem with such swelling? May be it is just 100 phones out of 10,000. Is that swelling danger?
2.Camera quality, I saw photo taken by Razr well it is OK in bright light and horrible in dim light, very yellow and green, not impressing. Anyway I'm Ok with the camera as there are many camera apps to adjust photo and white balance. Also heard that after update firmware the camera quality will be better , is that true?
3. Any other problems?
I almost buy it until I read about battery problem and recently Iphone 4s is 50% on sale in my country [of course with a 18 months contract of most expensive package]. So just want to weight my options1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Outstanding! but with one gripe...
by Nicktyelor on February 18, 2012
Pros: + beautiful exterior design
+ vivid, sharp touch screen
+ extremely fast browsing and download speeds
+ zero lag/delay performance (super fast dual core)Cons: - battery life is so-so

Summary: This is my first smartphone. I had been waiting off for the market to settle and general performance of phones to peak. I feel like we're sort of hitting that point (for this generation of devices at least) besides data speeds, so I went with the Razr. Off the bat, I'll just say, this is a great phone.
Firstly, it's blazing fast all around. Switching tasks and navigating between app/home screens in absolutely flawless. Motorola's UI works very well and has been smoothed out. The 4G LTE data speeds are also lightning fast (I did have one exception trying to download a soundtrack from aDownloader where the speeds cut out with 1mb left). Otherwise, browsing the web is quick and easy.
The screen is another huge plus. In my opinion, it's far superior than what Samsung has with the Galaxy lineup (excluding the new Nexus; I'll give them some credit there). There's zero blue tint front a general front on angle, although some blue shows at the extreme angles (not an issue at all). It's also very bright and the brightness setting will adapt to the lighting in the room (pretty cool).
Texting is easy with either the standard portrait or landscape keyboards, swype, or speak to text. It was a bit of a transition coming from my LG enV Touch with a pretty generous physical keyboard, but I think I've adjusted well.
Now onto my only problem. The battery. Being my first smartphone, I'm a bit enthralled with all the little widgets, games, browsing, and other cool tasks such a phone can do. But powering all of these processes with 4G running doesn't always work out well. Supposedly, the battery in this phone is decent/above average compared to other 4G phones. For me personally, I usually end up having to charge it at least once during the day. It'm a pretty avid user on some mindless games. Even with 4G, wifi, bluetooth, auto GPS/location, etc. turned off, I still end up needing a recharge throughout the day. I'm assuming this will tone down once I get over the novelty of smartphone bells and whistles, but be warned, it will NOT go an entire day with medium/heavy use. I have yet to really get into the Smart Actions app that helps manage battery usage so it's possible that I could get some more juice out of it. Also, I've noticed that even having the phone PLUGGED IN to a computer for charging (haven't tried the outlet for this situation), the phone still uses MORE power than what the charging cable put in when I'm playing a game. This is either a fluke in the cable, a normality with the game using a lot of power, or maybe charging through a PC isn't as efficient as through an outlet.
Anyway, overall, I would highly recommend this phone. If the Razr Maxx wasn't an outrageous $100 more expensive, I would recommend going for that instead. But if you manage your usage properly, you can get the most out of this genuinely great phone.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I dropped my razr about a month after having it. It fell out of my pocket and landed face up on the pavement with a case on it and the screen shattered. It was the most mild fall from 3 feet off the ground. So much for "built to take a beating." Moto refused to replace. Very disappointed the motorola customer service and corporate.

Summary: First to be honest, I love the phone & after going through all the phones available now ( Feb 2012) I would still pick this one. I wanted to give it 5 stars just for the look! But I have to be honest, the camera is what actually took off 1 star & not the battery. This is my 5th smartphone so & am familiar with the battery issue. None of my other smartphones' batteries could last more than a day & I learned to take my precautions, I just expected that through 4 years technology would have given us better batteries...well it didn't!
The camera is a real disappointment. It is worse than my Nokia N85 phone that I had 3 years ago! In day light it is really good, but at low light situations..not good at all & certainly many cameras on many phones are better.
These 2 points aside, The phones is really awesome. Definitely quick, no lags at all. The screen, though a bit pentil, is really awesome, I can't look to smaller or lower quality screens anymore!
The browsing is really fast, even when 4G is off.
I never had drop calls, the call quality is always good, speakers are better than expected & the supplied headset is very good, lightweight and can be easily put in a pocket, though it definitely lacks an On, off button, what were u thinking Moto?? I have to turn my screen on then ends the call from my phone which isn't really convenient. Of course a Bluetooth earpiece or a generic headset solves the problem.
Overall it is an excellent phone & would recommend it to anybody, but make sure u try it first at a local shop, it is a bit wider than usual! Hope this was helpful.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
