Nokia E71 - white (unlocked) price range: $179.99

The good: The Nokia E71 features a slim design, while still managing to have a full QWERTY keyboard. The Symbian smartphone is stocked with features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and U.S. 3G support. Voice, messaging, and productivity tools are also strong.
The bad: The E71 is expensive, and the display is on the smaller side. The keyboard is a bit cramped as well.
The bottom line: Mobile professionals who need a powerful but sleek messaging-centric smartphone will be well-served by the Nokia E71; just be prepared to pay a price.

I've bought 2. One for me. One for my GF.
by koufaxandrysdale on October 31, 2009
Pros: Very fast internet surfing. Fits in my jeans pocket.
Cons: keys are small and a bit hard to read. The white keys are easier to read than the darker phones. So I preferred the white Nokia to the grey, black & red ones.
Summary: I liked mine so much. I bought my GF one also.

My first smart(ish)phone. Flawed.
by fihart on October 17, 2011
Pros: Well built. Slim. Battery life still good after 2 yrs (like my even older Nokia 2610). GPS with free maps is fun and even works (slowly) if you turn off expensive broadband assist.
QWERTY keyboard a nice idea but too cramped and keytops are shiny so rCons: Wireless LAN does not work. Apparently this was a problem with earlier Nokia models and some later. Nokia site and user forums attempt to suggest solutions, none of which work. Seems like a hardware fault to me. Wireless interface is awful -- the designer
Summary: Rugged, pocketable, good design poorly executed and let down by software and one crucial hardware problem. Showing its age.

I was fortunate to be given mine by a friend who was upgrading -- but I would not have bought this product. -

Summary: I like this phone as its compact, made of metal materials which make the device slim, light weight and feels good to carry. The phone's above average call clarity, its built-in antenna which is superior to any phone I've utilized is a major enhancement for anyone living on the edge of a carriers network. Battery life is very good. Nokia has made a Businessman's and Texter's dream come true. Real workhorse.

Good phone if you have low expectations!
by Garrett29 on May 18, 2009
Pros: Heavy shiny covers
Cons: Software bugs, poor/no customer service, lacks good email support programs and low battery life. No wonder Nokia is tier 3 in US

Summary: I have been using this phone ever since October 2008, and while it is not as easy to use as an iPhone, it is an excellent smartphone. It overall feel is quite solid, despite the thinness of the device.
The functions are very complete, and the phone can be do as much, if not more, than what the netbooks can. It's a perfect travel mate right inside your pocket period. -

Summary: All the features anyone wants and needs even some that's not offer in the US yet like Video calls via 3G! It makes a great MP3 player, I popped in an 8-Gig micro-SD card and it's good as gold. Amazing sound quality with the standard headset and even the wireless Stereo Bluetooth headset. You can download and run all sort of Symbian software from the web (tons of free ones) Tons of work applications, great with emails. Very easy to Sync to your computer, very intuitive software. Great for REAL web cruising minus the fancy flash sites.
Compare to my Moto Q, this Nokia is abit laggy in accessing apps and functions but that Q is hard to beat in that aspect, however it's a whole lot faster than my BB Curve. Another bad thing is the camera it is a 3 Mpx, however it is just bad period! The battery life is very bad also. It got a great mAh rating but can not go more than 2 days with out charging with nominal usage. I thought I had a bad battery. I called and complaint to Nokia they sent me another one, same problem different battery. The current firmware only allow a maximum of 8gb memory card, this is rather low compare to the competitors I have a feeling that they will change this in the next software release.
Overall I highly reccomend this beautiful phone. The exclusivity of not having any US carrier picking it up is also a nice perk :-D
