- Bottom Line:
- The $49.99 Nokia Lumia 710 is an excellent way to get the growing capabilities of a Windows Mango smartphone for a rock-bottom price. Though it isn't an Android superphone with a luscious AMOLED display, it's a practical device that covers all the mobile bases.

The good: Thanks to its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, Nokia's Lumia 710 provides plenty of power for both fun and productive uses. It has a smooth and engaging user interface, satisfying photo quality, and 720p HD video, all in a compact and affordable package.
The bad: The Lumia 710's all-plastic construction doesn't scream luxury and its small physical buttons are stiff and often tough to press. The handset also lacks a front-facing camera, so video chat is out of the question.
The bottom line: The $49.99 Nokia Lumia 710 is an excellent way to get the growing capabilities of a Windows Mango smartphone for a rock-bottom price. Though it isn't an Android superphone with a luscious AMOLED display, it's a practical device that covers all the mobile bases.

Pros: Good Camera, Nice display, Charges quickly, Good for social networking, easy to access messages, fast processor
Cons: Battery life, 4G speed is only 5mbps on average, screen gets pretty hot when the brightness is turned up for a long time (which is to be expected but it would be nice if they could invent a technology that would keep the glass screen cool so it doesn't bu

Hardware wise, you get what you would expect from a Nokia phone: it feels good in the hand, it's made out of plastic but doesn't feel cheap, and the replaceable covers are kind of cool. The screen very bright, even in direct sunlight, and colors look good.
Some people might not like the physical buttons on the bottom, but I prefer them to touch buttons, especially when using the phone with one hand.
The camera is what you would expect from a phone in this category: it takes good pictures for posting online but it would never replace a point and shoot (where as an iPhone 4-4S can replace a point and shoot in my opinion for example).
The battery could be better. The first day of usage I had to charge it twice since I was extensively using the phone and trying it the hole day, but after an normal day of use i would get close to 30% before going to bed.
I had read some reviews about windows phone 7.5 being awesome, but using it blew my mind away. The level of integration is amazing! A good example would be the people hub where one can check facebook and all other social stuff. It's so good in fact that I noticed taht I was using it instead of the facebook app that I later uninstalled.
The experience is super fluid, and apps launch really fast.
The live tiles are nice, but i don't find them a necessity at all.
WP 7.5 still has however a long way to go since it has a lot of annoyances:
Internet explorer 9 is not the best mobile browser out there. Many sites didn't load well or not at all, for example livescore.com or remote.utorrent.com;
The app selection is very bleak, especially on the game front. I was able to find one app for everything (after some serious searching) but the number of interesting free games is very, VERY low.
Other annoyances are more minor like for example controlling the brightness: there's an automatic option, or a selection between low, medium & high. I would have preferred a slider like in iOS for when the battery is really low.
I believe that the WP 7 experience will only get better with time, and I really recommend this phone to anyone in the market for a middle range smartphone. -

Pros: Its a little cheaper which may not be better. it was made w windows so lets hope its not buggy in 2 years like a pc.
Cons: Its not the big deal right now like android or iphone so lets hope it takes off for Nokia. I hope they arent too late to the table i.e. blackberry.... so but you guys really shot yourselves.

Updated on Mar 9, 2012Summary: The jury is still out. I will keep posting updates as I feel the need good and bad
Ive had this phone for 2 weeks now and it blows away my bbbold and my wifes galaxy S. I am happy with the speed and ease of use. However there was no booklet or info that told me I had to go and download a third party program on my laptop (windows 7) to connect to my phone..... Made me VERY MAD how stupid is that? a windows phone doesnt know a windows pc ?? problem solved. By the way there is no removable sd card and the one inside is only 8G and not expandable. Sound is great, video is awesome, ESPN Free TV Rocks, tons of kills Free apps, nice solid feel and the free blue tooth and gel cover are sweet. THe touch screen is as good as my friends iphone. camera and video are great however you can not upload video to fb or youtube you can only email it. social media is top notch. FOX news scrolls news thru the icon which is pretty sweet. Calendar is an epic failure.
