The good: The Nokia Lumia 920 forges new Windows Phone ground with wireless charging support and a highly sensitive screen you can use with gloves. Moreover, Nokia helps fill in Windows Phone OS gaps with a few missing features.
The bad: A thick, heavy build and slippery finish for some colors make the Lumia 920 harder to hold and carry, and the phone's overhyped camera doesn't have enough settings.
The bottom line: Nokia's Lumia 920 is heavy and thick, but if you want the most powerful, feature-rich Windows phone available, this is it.

Summary: Having had a 920 for several months now, I have to comment. It is indeed a very nice phone, even if a bit thick and heavy. I like Windows Phone 8, too.
But, I find the battery life is quite poor....it often starts warning me by late afternoon, even though I really don't use it all that much (no more than past smart phones that had apparently better battery life). Battery Saver mode only kicks in when the battery is low, so Airplane Mode is really the only way to extend it. Ugh.
Also, I find the Blue Tooth operation can be a problem, especially in my car. Every time, when I get in my car, it says it is linked to the phone, but the first call NEVER goes through properly....the other end can hear, but I don't hear a ring or any voice. The second call ALWAYS works fine. Past phones worked fine. I hope Nokia can improve on this. -

Windows Phone 8 is best mobile OS
Why.....?
Fluid and Seamless experience.
Best integration of social networks (Facebook,Twitter,LinkedIn).
IE10 (Common don't think abt old experience of IE,try once now IE10).
Camera apps(Apps integration into cam).
Most of the information right on ur home Screen.
Backup and Sync (Apps, Contacts, Photos, Videos, SMS).
I prefer Windows over Android(My first smartphone was Android).
Now Compare 8X and Lumia 920:
Display:
920 : 332 PPI, Supper sensitive touch screen, Clear black tech, Past refreshing rate...
8X : 341 PPI.
There is not much difference b/w PPI ,but lumia sports additional futures.
Winner : Nokia Lumia 920.
Design & Build :
920 : Unibody polycarbonate, 70.8x130.3x10.7mm, Weight 185 g.
8X : Unibody Polycarbonate, Size 66.2x132.35x10.12 mm , Weight 130 g.
Except weight both are smiler in size but 8X sports more curved edges,we fell more thinner than 920.
Winner : HTC 8X(thinner edge).
Storage :
920 :1gb RAM, 32gb version.
8X : 1gb RAM, 8gb ,16gb versions.
Both are doesn't have expandability.
Winner : Nokia Lumia 920.
Camera :
920 : 8.7MP with OIS(nokia Pureview camera).
8x : 8MP
Here 920 has great capabilities like, taking low light images, more stable videos, but day light image colors are good in 8x(but nokia working on s/w update to fix the issue).
Winner : Nokia Lumia 920.
S/w and Apps :
Both are running on WP8 but nokia lumia series sports with more exclusive apps like city lens, nokia transit, nokia drive and more.
Winner : Nokia Lumia 920. -
So close to perfect. Nokia are on their way.
by thisistheslam on December 31, 2012
Pros: Beautiful, perfect 4.5" IPS display with curved glass. Smooth and durable body. 5 colors to choose from. Exclusive app deals. NFC. Pureview-based camera @ 8.7MP. 32GB storage on-board. Improved side buttons. Wireless charging capable.
Cons: Not as good of battery life as I had hoped. Still on the larger side of phones.

Summary: The Nokia Lumia 920 is an absolutely fantastic phone. While the Windows Phone 8X surprised me for design and challenges the Lumia 920, there's no mistake that the Lumia 920 is the phone to get on Windows Phone 8 unless its size makes it unusable. The camera is best in the business for smartphones, capturing low-light extremely well. Nokia also give you plenty of choice for colors by offering Black, White, Cyan, Red, Yellow. I purchased the Yellow and also have a Cyan phone as well. I love the style. I love the way it feels when I hold it. The PROs in my review say it all. Really the only thing Nokia can do to improve upon the 920 is to slim it down a little, jump up to a battery around 2300mAh, and find a way to incorporate expandable memory via microSD. If they can land that, they couldn't be beat. Even a rumored Surface Phone would have a hard time capping the 920.

This phone is completely amazing and functional!
by bradluy on December 29, 2012
Pros: It has everything and it built to last. Great scree, wireless charging, Windows 8 is outstanding, camera is amazing, Skydrive, Office, Music player is perfect, there is no need for a competely worthless software like iTunes just drag and drop files
Cons: Need more apps
Summary: This phone is hands down the best on the market. I am going to purchase a MS Surface to add a more seamless solution for my computing needs.

Lives up to the hype awesome phone, Camera & Navigation
by joeazzi on December 26, 2012
Pros: Nokia 920 will dazzle you with an amazing camera, sleek Windows 8 OS that's efficient on your data plan and battery, and Nokia Navigation app that allows you to download maps locally to save on cellular data charges.
Cons: (1)Phone app falls short needs some enhancements for taking notes, (2)FM tuner removed forces users to stream local radios which doesn't make sense, (3)Battery is locked away from users (4)Outlook contacts aren't synchronized cleanly
Summary: The Nokia 920 will exceed your expectations, the form factor is slightly bulky for small hands but people I know overcame that issue fast. The user interface is dazzling, Microsoft ...
Summary: The Nokia 920 will exceed your expectations, the form factor is slightly bulky for small hands but people I know overcame that issue fast. The user interface is dazzling, Microsoft did such a great job combining apps and calendars in 1 place. The phone supports wireless charging, has every feature you can think of, and delivers an amazing camera, and great navigation app.. You no longer need to carry a separate camera or GPS.

Drop-dead gorgeous 920 does all I ask with aplomb.
by jtfrazier2000 on December 26, 2012
Pros: The Lumia 920 flat-out works with no hitches
- Very polished, professional phone
- Gorgeous screen
- Solid build (see the "drop tests") to withstand the daily wear and tear.
- Wireless charging is nice.
- Nokia apps (from City Lens to Drive) are fabCons: - I miss Swype

Summary: The Lumia 920 has been a great experience where it not only "just works", it does so in a fun, fast and focused way. I love the little touches from live tiles to the slight drop of icons when they display. It's dead fast in browsing (LTE and IE 10 really help here (but does have some limitations showing media). Scrolling, opening and moving among apps are quick. The screen really is fabulous with pictures and video displays faithfully (no over-saturated colors) with terrific contrast). The camera is simply amazing, especially in low-light situations (and even better with a recent firmware update to help full-light pictures).
Some pleasant surprises:
- I listen to a lot of Audible books and the phone speakers are surprisingly loud and good. They are on the end of the phone so you don't cover them when putting the phone down.
- GPS locks fast and accurately. Admittedly, my last phone, a Samsung Galaxy (Epic), had a particularly horrific gps experience so this may be normal, but it's a relief.
- It works really well as a phone; this isn't a given with smartphone devices. The Samsung Galaxy I had was lousy as a phone. -
Bar none; the best smart-phone experience available!
by bate119 on December 24, 2012
Pros: Windows 8 OS, camera, screen, hardware design.
Cons: For me, there are no con's!

A great phone overall.
by Nicholas_Lim_HS on December 23, 2012
Pros: Very solid feel, which is refreshing.
Packed with great hardware that generally, works easily and is easy to navigate on a fantastic, sturdy screen!
Windows 8 platform is good.Cons: Windows 8 platform seems a tad unfinished. For example cannot disable auto-screen rotation/ position.
It is very heavy.
My battery life is pretty terrible, but I have used it heavily.
Camera is good, but not amazing.
Not many apps available.Summary: Best phone out there today. Only regret is that I got the black, but want the yellow one now.

Big, Bold, and Silky Smooth
by Merklear on December 21, 2012
Pros: Amazing design/fit-finish, Win 8 OS glides on new hardware, camera quality (especially indoors) is superb, NFC tap pairing and sharing is great, wireless charging is hassle free, screen is crazy crisp, live/sky drive integration, great call quality.
Cons: A bit on the large and heavy side, smaller app ecosystem then Apple and Android, Only available on At&t in the US, no micro SD card, no removable battery.
Summary: I've been toting an iPhone since they first came out. I've now had four of them so I'm more then qualified to make an accurate comparison. The ...
Summary: I've been toting an iPhone since they first came out. I've now had four of them so I'm more then qualified to make an accurate comparison. The iPhone experience was a revolution back in 2007...and it's about the same today. A screenshot between a 3GS and a 4S would be very hard to differentiate. The user experience is still stellar, but is becoming old hat and boring to me. Feel free to disagree but after all these years, call me ready for a change.
The windows 7.x family of devices and software had just too many issues to recommend; that all changes with WP8 and the Lumia 920. The build quality and feel of the 920 is simply luxurious. You know right away that it's a quality device. The smooth lines, great design, substantial feel all scream flagship quality.
WP8 OS has really arrived. The ecosystem has become very large and diverse. I don't recall anyone crying and complaining when Apple "only" had enough apps that if you downloaded a few per day you'd be dead before you got through all of them. The people hub, office hub, camera software apps, games hub, and xbox integration brings the best of business and personal usage scenarios to life. WP 8 is fast and fluid and a real pleasure to navigate. Not as tweaky geeky as Android and not as old/sterile as iOS. A great balance.
Don't buy into this hype about how heavily "invested" you are in any existing ecosystem. Odds are you have downloaded a couple hundred apps...most of which were free. You probably purchased a couple of dozen with real money which means you have probably shelled out less than $100 on all the software you have used over the years. Don't let such a small sum of money stand between you and something truly exciting and new.
Go check out the 920...reward real innovation with your hard earned dollars, you won't be disappointed.
