Nokia Lumia 920 price range: $449.99

The good: The Nokia Lumia 920 forges new Windows Phone ground with wireless charging support and a highly sensitive screen you can use with gloves. Moreover, Nokia helps fill in Windows Phone OS gaps with a few missing features.
The bad: A thick, heavy build and slippery finish for some colors make the Lumia 920 harder to hold and carry, and the phone's overhyped camera doesn't have enough settings.
The bottom line: Nokia's Lumia 920 is heavy and thick, but if you want the most powerful, feature-rich Windows phone available, this is it.

Build like a TANK!!
by joseasilvestre on November 10, 2012
Pros: WINDOWS PHONE 8 is amazing and make all other platforms look old and boring. Build quality is outstanding and nokia adds free music service plus many other great applications. Best camera on a smart phone that will only get better with future updates
Cons: No notification system like other platforms, developers need to update application to function better.

Couldn't ask for a better "out of box" experience
by EcuadorHomesOnline on November 10, 2012
Pros: *The screen is stunning. With static text on the screen you think you are looking at a printed page.
*Easy to use. Took less then ten minutes of playing around before saying "I got this"
*Great email integration with Outlook client. It just works.Cons: Early reviews said the AT&T version would include the wireless charging pad, but alas - that's a separate option.

Summary: I've been holding off on getting a new phone for almost a year, waiting for that special device that does it all. The Lumia 920 has everything - great web browser, excellent email client, GPS, incredible camera, superb music, easy to use ... oh yeah, it works as a pretty good phone as well :-)
One more nice thing I forgot to mention - I'm glad the Lumia 920 uses a standard "min-USB" connector. It's actually the same connector as my Kindle Fire, so I don't need to keep track of two different cables. To me, this is a pretty important point - my previous phone required a custom cable that only worked with that phone. If I lost the cable, I had to order a replacement instead of just grabbing a standard one out of my box.

Best device I have EVER owned. LOVE Windows Phone!
by infrared71 on March 25, 2013
Pros: Screen Color Saturation.
Case colors not painted.
Incredibly fast and smooth operation.
Easy!
Windows Phone is superlative in every way to Droid.
OS color personalization is nice touch and has great colors to choose from.
Corning Glass face amazing.Cons: NONE. I mean it, I haven't found anything I dislike in over a month. Love the hardware and love Windows OS.

Summary: If you couldn't tell I love the Lumia 920. I have never loved a phone until this one. I learned of the Lumia from an MBA class project I took part in and fell in love with this thing. I had a Droid Galaxy SII at the time and hated it from day 1. Just try putting iTunes lists on a Galaxy. Maddening. Hardly wants to show up when attached to a PC.
Not the Lumia. I plugged it in and away it went. It is an absolute joy to use everyday. I am a Supply Chain Manager and this phone actually made my life easier. Do yourself a favor and get this phone. iPhones are great too, but if you really want something different and fun and would like colors other than white or black, you will love the subtleties from the curved Corning Gorilla glass face to the curved back, the huge, brilliant, colorful and sensitive screen, as well as the total lack of paint anywhere on the phone. This thing is of the highest quality imaginable and NO I don't work for Nokia. Lol. Windows Phone is also phenomenal. I can't believe more people don't use it, but iI think that that will change with time. Far superior to Google Droid in every conceivable way. Both Microsoft and Nokia are desperate for mobile market share, so they are making superlative products for those with an eye for value and quality. Do yourself a favor and get this phone! I got the yellow one and it is gorgeous. I never want anything else. Way to come back Nokia!!!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Lots of great features but the Lumia 920 freezes a lot.
by majordomo420 on February 22, 2013
Pros: The large display shows movies and games beautifully. The camera does a very good job taking good quality photos. There are plenty of apps in the marketplace. The phone isn't heavy and feels comfortable in my hand.
Cons: The phone freezes multiple times a day. There are a lot of buggy apps. Internet explorer freezes a lot and it's a built in app. Nokia and Microsft have known about the freezing problems since the Lumia 920 was launched but they are still freezing.
Summary: The Lumia 920 would be a perfect phone if it didn't freeze so much. The freezing issue is the only thing preventing me from suggesting other people try it. ...
Summary: The Lumia 920 would be a perfect phone if it didn't freeze so much. The freezing issue is the only thing preventing me from suggesting other people try it. When Nokia finally fixes the freezing issue then go out and give it a try but don't buy it until the problem is fixed. The phone has been available for a while now and the freezing problems aren't being addressed by Nokia.
My Lumia 920 has been running without any problems for a while now. I think Nokia fixed the freezing problems with a few updates to some of their apps. I'm very happy with my Lumia now.
It seems they are working harder at covering the problem up
than fixing the problem. I've noticed many Nokia employees have been posting positive reviews of the Lumia 920 to hide all the negative reviews. When I contacted Nokia about the issue I received an automated reply saying they were sorry that I wasn't satisfied with their product. They should be asking me questions so they can fix the problem instead of ignoring the problem. Nokia won't even acknowledge the freezing problem so I think Lumia 920 owners will be forced to just deal with it.
Avoid the 920 until Nokia fixes the problem. If you don't believe there is really a problem then do a quick google search with the words "Lumia 920 freezing". There are a lot of us dealing with this problem. You could substitute the word freezing with crashing or reseting to see even more results.

The best WP8 phone. Period.

Summary: AT&T allows you to upgrade the first of the month you qualify, so I drove to Best Buy on February 1st. Up to the cellphone area, and when they asked what phone I wanted, I proudly said, "The Lumia 920." One associate said, "Oh - the BRICK." Now I had handled the no-guts demo at Best Buy, and played with a fully functional 920 at AT&T stores, as well as at a Microsoft kiosk in New York. I've done my research and compared the two heavy hitters (the Nokia and the HTC 8X). Realizing that I'm a power user, 4G and a dual-core processor are a must. My poor Focus (v. 1.3) doesn't qualify for a Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade, so it was time to make the big jump.
Personalizing the phone is a bit of a chore; it's easier (and faster) to do it yourself if you know how than to wait for the geeks to do it. Zune doesn't work with the WP8 phones, so when you connect, it's a bit maddening. Fortunately, the Windows Phone 'app' downloads easily, and everything in 'the cloud' transfers, no muss, no fuss. Speed-wise, this thing FLIES - downloads are done in a matter of seconds, data transfers are done without thinking about it, and playing videos is not a problem.
I watched the video of the guy (lightly) hammering nails into the Gorilla Glass with no effect, and even using the 920 as a hammer, and it's true, this is a very solid phone. But it feels heavy - it tops out at 8.8 ounces. For reference, a large Fuji apple is 9.1 oz, and my wife's Galaxy Note 2 is 7.7. I think the compactness of the phone adds to the heft. But one major problem with the phone is the problem CNET had with it - it's SLICK. Not that I dropped it a lot, but it's difficult to get a good grip on it for texting or websurfing. But when I added a case (all my phones get a case), that solved the problem. For a phone of this size, make sure you get one with a kickstand - you'll find that you use it more often than you'd think, and it really helps with productivity.
Having all the buttons on one side makes sense since the screen size makes for easier landscape work, but it takes a bit getting used to, especially if your old phone had a different power button position. I was pushing the volume up button out of habit, but the new case (hybrid silicone/plastic) has isolated the center power button for easier access.
The two cameras are excellent, typical Nokia quality. However, I would recommend to do a little reading on the main camera's features before using it; for example, you pinch and zoom on the screen to get closeups, whereas the Focus had a virtual zoom button on the screen.
WP8 - excellent. The OS is maturing nicely, with more integration and smoother operation. If you take the time to just play with it, you'll find it much more intuitive than either iOS or Android. And that's saying a lot - my wife is the proud owner of a Galaxy Note 2, and it's an impressive piece of hardware. But I just prefer how WP8 works over Jellybean. Connection to the cloud is seamless, Office is built in, text now connects automatically to Facebook, and the Live Tiles feature is just amazing. Being able to size the tiles might appear to be just a cosmetic feature, but you can configure your most needed tiles where you want them for quick checking. Another new feature is that you can set notices for text and email on your lock screen. This is available on Mango, but only for a few accounts. And connection to an exchange server (for example, my University account) is a breeze, with full access to all your folders. One of my gripes with WP7/7.5 was that when you deleted an email, it was GONE. Period. Now, you are able to get into stored folders, sent items, and deleted items, so if you make a goof, you can retrieve an item.
My only gripe with WP8 has to do with apps. It's not that there are not enough (as most people say), but that some obvious ones are not available yet for WP8, even those that were available on WP7. The one I'm missing the most is iheartRadio - it's installed on every Windows 8 device, but not on the phones??? This is where Microsoft needs to push the developers.
All of Nokia's added features are worthwhile, although Nokia Music is sort of a redundancy. It's great that you can download maps for offline use (for those times when you don't have service, perish the thought), and the 32GB storage capacity, combined with cloud space, should be ample enough for most. Nokia City Lens is a cute idea, but the Famous tile is a waste of time - apparently the only famous thing near me is the Sears Tower! But on the other hand, I now know how far away Niagra Falls is!
For a feature-packed phone with arguably the best smartphone operating system out there, and if you can deal with phone of its heft, you can't go wrong with the Nokia Lumia 920.
Now, can I have iheartRadio? ;p1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Generally speaking, Lumia 920 is an excellent phone.
by nickwest_wyy on February 17, 2013
Pros: The hardware is tremendously exceptional, better than iPhone and any android to some extent. The windows phone interface is amazing. Some special applications like Nokia lens is really fantastic.
Cons: Many apps available on iphone and android are unavailable with windows phone, like the PNC bank virtual wallet. It seems as if windows phone platform is not yet widely recognized and accepted, so Microsoft and Nokia need to push hard to the market.
Summary: Excellent hardware, fantastic operating system and progressive software~

Summary: It appears to me that Microsoft was, for once, smarter than the competition. While they may nil market share so far in the mobile market, they waited for the 2 big players, Google and Apple to find the footing. They have, in my opinion, taken the best from both platforms to create the Windows 8 mobile software. I'm a die hard android fan. I am only testing this phone and if I wasn't so deeply tied to google, I would switch to it. But I do need to say that integrating googles email, contacts and calendar was as easy and seamless as could be. I put in my account info and Windows 8 did the rest. Flawlessly. SO tempted to keep this phone, but alas, I miss my Android. For those that are not "die hard" fans of either of the two big players, you can't go wrong here. Even for the moderate fan of google, it ties it all in perfectly. Everything is in a clean interface and I haven't had to google any info on how to perform tasks on it yet as it's one of the most intuitive devices yet.

BEst phone I have ever had.
by yiannigr on December 28, 2012
Pros: Beautiful screen.
32GB of memory.
Nice camera.
Fast.
Smooth scrolling.
Resizable tiles.
Unique, and nice Nokia apps, for free.
Price.Cons: A little thick.

Summary: I must say that I was afraid that I would hate the phone because everybody said it's heavy, I had a Lumia 900, and it is heavier than that.
Although it is thicker and heavier than other phones, I must say that the weight is niceley distributed, and it does not feel as heavy as one may think.
I had the Luimia 900 cyan, and this time I got the black.
Folks, this is a just a beatiful phone. Whether it's on, or off.
I understand some people when they say that the battery is not removable. Some people, heavy users, may need to pop in another battery. But for the rest of us, I don't think that will be an issue.
What I don't understand, is the people complaining that there is no SD slot.
You realize that you get 32GB of memory right?
Let me say that again. 32GB of memory. It's just feels nice saying it. And you get all that memory for about $200 less, than what other phones in the same category go for.
I like WP8, better than 7.5, and I just love the resizable tiles.
Nice improvements, and hopefully more improvements will come.
As you all may know, not all apps that are available for other platforms, are available here, but most are coming, and more are coming.
The Internet explorer on this tging is fast, much faster than my old Lumia. It's fast enough to notice the difference.
That makes me warm all over.
Did I mention that the screen is just drop dead gorgeous.
Forgive me for being repetitive, but I just can't control myself.
The "fruit phone 4", looks like a midget compared to this, and there is no comparison. This looks like a better phone. Put a case on the "fruit phone 4" and they weight the same.
Compared to the "fruit phone 5", this still looks like the nicer phone. Yes it's lighter, but you need a case.
The other WP8 competitor, seems flimsy by comparison
This is a phone that gets noticed.
It has the power, the storage capacity, the looks, and I love it.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
