Nokia Lumia 920 price range: $449.99

The good: The Nokia Lumia 920 forges new Windows Phone ground with wireless charging support and a highly sensitive screen you can use with gloves. Moreover, Nokia helps fill in Windows Phone OS gaps with a few missing features.
The bad: A thick, heavy build and slippery finish for some colors make the Lumia 920 harder to hold and carry, and the phone's overhyped camera doesn't have enough settings.
The bottom line: Nokia's Lumia 920 is heavy and thick, but if you want the most powerful, feature-rich Windows phone available, this is it.

Summary: I've had many different phones before. Blackberry's, Iphone's and Android's. I heard about the 920 and decided to take a shot, since I liked Nokia. Since I had never touched a Windows Phone, I figured I would have to get used to the whole Windows Phone experience, because the Android was so easy. Now that I have this phone, I love it! It's a really reliable phone, and very good looking (I got the red one). I like the live tiles and the fact that when I unlock the phone, there's a lot of stuff going on, because the tiles are all moving and updating (unless you turn that stuff off, but it's personal choice)! I have received a lot of compliments, even from a current user of the S3. He says he loves my phone. But everyone keeps telling me it's a brick. And then they grab my phone and start using it and say how they love the interface and how they are in love with my phone. The 920 never froze or gave me any problems with performance. It's always extremely fast. Oh, and the apps, I guess this review is kind of old, so now they do have Panorama and all these different lenses for the phone, so you can tweak the pictures and all that good stuff! I was very scared with the fact that there won't be Pandora until next year, but, Nokia Music has some good stuff and there's a lot of other radios that work just as fine (Aupeo, for example) Nokia hasn't had a lot of success on the US market 'til now, but I think this product will give them a great opportunity to re-enter this market. And to be completely honest, HTC is terrible. I've had three of their phones and they all froze on me, rebooted by itself and all that. The iPhone is boring, since you can't customize it and there's a lot of limitations on it. I change phones every 4 months, but as of this moment, I believe I can keep this phone for another two years. Only time will tell, though. There are so many good things about the 920, but I don't want to write a book, so I will finish it with this: the 920 is amazing, don't be scared to buy it because you will be surprised when you receive it.
There's no objective comments, so you are clearly just generalizing. You don't even own the phone :)

A great piece of hardware with plenty of "oomph."
by DOSb00t on December 10, 2012
Pros: Great camera. Fabulous in low-light situations.
Clear, vibrant, responsive screen (that you can use with gloves on!).
Nokia-provided maps/GPS possibly the best available anywhere right now.
Scratch-resistant body and screen are highly durable.Cons: Application count in Windows store is low compared to other platforms, so if you are looking for specific function, be certain it's available (or write your own).
Summary: My first Windows phone and I'm very happy with it. Have had two iPhones in the past, and my fiancee has had three Android phones. Lumia 920 easily holds ...
Summary: My first Windows phone and I'm very happy with it. Have had two iPhones in the past, and my fiancee has had three Android phones. Lumia 920 easily holds its own and then some. If you're contemplating a switch, you have no reason not to. Throw in wireless charging (a nice-to-have on your nightstand) and you're set.

Best phone hardware, rapidly evolving OS
by sdoil3 on December 10, 2012
Pros: Camera works great, even indoors
Usable in gloves (makes a huge difference)
Reliable Outlook sync (incl. tasks)
Office files viewing/editing
Good battery life (50% power by the end of the day with everything enabled, 1hr web browsing and emailing)Cons: Need a few more months for OS features and app selection to catch up
PDF handling (cannot easily download a PDF and attach to email, some PDFs cannot be opened)Summary: It's already a great phone that can readily compete with top Android and Apple phones. When the OS and app selection catches up (probably very soon, due to the ...
Summary: It's already a great phone that can readily compete with top Android and Apple phones. When the OS and app selection catches up (probably very soon, due to the great developer tools and the strength of Microsoft ecosystem) the Lumia 920 will easily beat other phones.
Weight is not an issue at all (it's in my pocket, I don't feel any weight difference compared to the Lumia 710).
NFC and wireless charging should be great, but haven't had the opportunity to try them yet.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Windows Phones do not get enough recognition. I have used every smartphone OS and Windows Phone 8 feels smoother and less glitchy than the other big players. The web browser is fast, the OS has the best version of Microsoft Office on any mobile platform, and I love having my exchange email and my personal accounts on the phone. The Lumia 920 adds their own suite of exclusive apps combined with top notch hardware, making it a near perfect device. With build quality that is second to none, an amazing display that packs more pixles than you need, and a fast processor to keep it all running smoothly, what Nokia has here is a winning recipe for a smartphone. Anyone buying into the hype of a certain fruit company is missing the boat big time. The Nokia Lumia 920 is the unsung superphone of the year.

Best of iPhone and Android

Cons: My only complaints have to do with the AT&T network, wish it would have been available on Verizon

Summary: I'm not an overly-tech savvy person, and use my phone for very simple things. I've had both the iPhone and Android, and wanted to see how this phone compared. I love the design and simplicity of the iPhone and the custom-ability of the Android. This phone is honestly the best of both, and then some. The design is amazing, the Windows OS is refreshing and unique, and I've been extremely satisfied about how simple it is to make it my own. The app store is quickly growing, there have been a couple apps I miss, but between the Microsoft and Nokia apps, my phone does well beyond what I would have ever expected. I would recommend it it anyone, it really is a progressive device.

Excellent phone with few faults. Best on the market.
by JohnGalt1717 on December 10, 2012
Pros: Great screen for touching, great screen for seeing (full daylight!) Great OS that's super fast and way better than iOS/Android rip off of a bunch of tiles.
Great native navigation app with offline capabilities. Great browser.
Fantastic camera!Cons: Missing a few apps.
Supports Bluetooth Audio control 1.4 but it breaks compatibility with 1.3 devices like Pioneer head units. iOS has same issue. Workaround needed.
One Nokia app won't update properly.
No separate volume control for voice, music.Summary: Fantastic phone. Minor little issues left that hopefully will be addressed in the next update coming in a month or two. Great customer service from Nokia and Microsoft who fixes ...

-Touch screen works in the cold and with ordinary gloves on.
-Great Sound, video and still shots.
-hard uni-body of the phone seems very durable
-tethering is simple to use great to use.Cons: -Customization is lacking can't customize SMS notification tones, system font, etc.
-NO MEMORY EXPANSION!

Summary: I have had this phone for about two weeks and I love it. The battery life is great the phone runs lean so it doesn't run the battery down. The screen is beautiful to look at and use. I live in the northeast so it is getting cold and I love that you can use the touch screen while using regular gloves. The colors coming out of that screen are beautiful and vibrant.
The phone is very fast and responsive so it has no problem running the new Windows 8 that it comes with. The camera is very nice and it takes some really nice pictures even in dim light. Voice calls are the clearest and the most noise free I have heard on any smartphone that I have owned so far. The outer shell of the phone is very strong and tough although it is a bit slippery for me at times since I picked the Yellow one. I got it while the offer for the free NFC wireless charger was offered so I have that as an accessory and it is really neat. Like that I can just lay the phone onto the wireless charger and not have to mess with the tiny usb connector for the regular wall charger. The wireless charger seems to take little longer than the wall charger. Overall Nokia has done a good job at the phone design like they have in the past. I owned a Nokia 5160 and that bad boy was heavy but tough as nails. The Lumia 920 reminds me of that toughness.
Now what I don't like about the phone is the lack of features and setting in the software. Yes the Windows 8 tiles interface is easy to navigate and figure out. Yes you can move the tiles around and "customize" where your tiles are on the screen. Yes you can "pin" things and apps to your main screen. What you can't do is really customize the phone to be "for each of us" like Microsoft advertises. You can add special ringtones for your calls but you can't do the same for anything else. You are stuck with the boring and not as loud notification tones setup by Microsoft and Nokia. There is no notification led light on the phone for missed calls either. I could have said that during while I was talking about the hardware but since everything is controlled by software they could have used the software to control some of the navigation lights that are present in the front to notify you that there was a missed call or a message waiting for you - perhaps light up the "windows logo" light to a constant pulse. You can't change the phone's system fonts or much of anything else that you could think of. I am sorry if it may seems petty but if the phone's operating system is advertised to be "for the each of us" that means customization to the max and I don't see it in th Windows phone 8. Add more customization to your OS Microsoft, please, "for each of us".1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

The Best phone that I've ever had top date!!!
by KeyvilleX on December 9, 2012
Pros: As stated by other reviewers:
Wireless Charging
NFC
Screen size and Resolution is awsome
The camera Is Great.
32 gigs Memory
All of the features that were missing on Windows Phone 7.x
Very sensitive Screen is awsome.
FastCons: My cons are really not that big of a deal for ME but...
Battery Life is good but could be better by a bit

Summary: I've had this phone for 2 weeks now, and I love it. I bought this phone on black friday so I paid $50 for the phone and got the wireless charger for free. I still love the UI of the phone. The whole OS is straight to the point, mainly you click a tile and you are there. Unlike wp7.x where only some tiles were live, most of the tiles now are live. Speaking of tiles< I love how you can now customize the size, and added additional colors to them. The camera is great, and with all of the nokia intergrated camera apps it makes it even better. The intergrated Nokia apps are also awsome. My fiance likes using the City Lens, and I like Nokia Drive.
I love the wireless charger, I just drop it on the pad and its charging. It seems to charge faster on the charging plate than using the usb charger. NFC works perfect and can also work with other phones that have NFC. I tried it with my friend who has a HTC One X, and they synced very good.
The build is very sturdy, I hear paople complain about the weight, But I love the weight. It gives it a very durable feel. The only cons I have are not really a big deal, just small personal things, such as the battery life. The battery life is better than my Samsung focus, and last me full day of work with moderate use, but I've learned quickly that if you have too many apps running in the background ie CNN which runs in the background to keep updating. It could put a damper on your battery life just a little bit. I have the glossy White phone, and really dont want to buy a case because the Phone is gorgeous by itself BUT, I find the phone to be quit slippery at times. I almost dropped it twice when I pulled it out of my pocket.
But all in all, this phone is awsome, and is most definitely worth the money. I've had a lot of people ask me about my phone based on its looks alone. Nokia did a great job in inovating such great design.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
