nokia n70, great device
by MartY3™ on July 4, 2006
Pros: excelent build, huge application and games support, probally the the nokia phone with the most usable RAM, great camera, symbian os8.1 fp3, SVG scalable vector graphicall theme support.
Cons: 178x208 res screen, gallery completly unusable due to being too slow (may i recomend resco photo viewer better solution to defualt gallery) 220mhz cpu could be more, keys a little cramed
Summary: all in all a great device, has full vector support which means n90 themes are supported and looks great on the n70, but still only 176x208 pix res screen which ...
Summary: all in all a great device, has full vector support which means n90 themes are supported and looks great on the n70, but still only 176x208 pix res screen which could be twice that imo, especially seeing how the n90 is 4 times that, great camera, video for mp4 and 3gp formats, will support every audio and video codec there is, including wma, mgeg, ogg, with 3rd party support of course, due to the the 2nd edition symbian 8.1 edition, n70 is still very highly moddable, such like change the complete fonts in the n70 to a better font, change application icons, and create op logos plus much more mods available for this device, which isnt available on the new symbian 9.1 3rd edtion devices such like n91 , n80, n93, e- series ect ect..
thats all, need to know something then contact me, there is not a single thing i dont know about symbian phones

Best Nokia phone I've owned to date!
by arii_s on May 8, 2006
Pros: Almost everything! Style, size and performance.

Summary: This phone replaces my Nokia 6620 smart phone. The upgrades include, better cam resolution (2.0 mp), much better audio quality, cleaner os and better screen resolution. Sure my ir connection is gone, but i never used it anyway. Signal strength is equal to or improved over my 6620 and battery life is equal. Minor gripe? The 2 key is to close to the direction keypad and an update was needed to use this phone on the cingular network in the USA (spec. Philadelphia) without this update multipart txt mssgs could not be sent. It was easy to get at nokia europe. I purchased this unlocked phone a month ago and its been great. Very stylish and functional.

Disappointment compared to other all-around Nokia phones. Doesn’t live up to expections.
by skareta on June 11, 2006
Pros: Good looks. Very good camera.
Cons: Mediocre functionality, far from being user-friendly, and terribly slow.
Summary: I am mostly disappointed with this phone. My previous phone was (fortnately still is) Nokia 6230i for almost a year.

What can I give N70 thumbs up for? Wonderful screen. Its quality is outstanding. The phone looks wealthy. How N70 is better than 6230i? Well, the same, the looks. Plus its camera makes very good pictures as for a phone.
That’s about it. Nothing on the practical side to outweigh the functional and easy to use 6230i. I cannot think of a single important function for a phone that was implemeneted better in this phone.
N70 is incredibly slow, you press a button and it takes an eternity for something to happen. Clumsy and hard to navigate through the menus. Can’t get voice recorder to record my phone calls.
To cap my misery is the phonebook that’s in a different format and I can’t import my contact information correctly, that’s some 300 contacts… I tried to transfer my contacts from 6230i to Outlook first and then to N70… and first names became last names, middle names and notes gone altother, etc… the whole phonebook down the drain. Terrible.
Reception-wise I think N70 is not as good as 6230i. To sum it all up is N70 is no match for 6230i as far as basic phone functions are concerned.
A waste of money.2 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Fantastic phone, good quality audio, horrible earphones
by debas on April 19, 2006
Pros: Fantastic features, superb audio quality (FM and MP3 players)
Cons: Very uncomfortable earphones with the handsfree kit. Just doesn't stay in the ear and hurts badly. BT connectivity is poor for large size file transfer (mp3)
Summary: The features of this phone are commendable.
WiFi connectivity would have made it a perfect phone to carry.

WiFi connectivity would have made it a perfect phone to carry.
Audio quality (both FM and MP3 player) is superb. Unfortunately, the audio quality cannot be enjoyed due to the lack of a quality earphone. The earphones that ship with the phone is horrible, doesn't stay in the ear and hurts terribly.
Nokia should think of a hands free kit with in-ear bud style earphones like Shure.
Try transferring you favourite music using BT connection. It may take ages, the BT connection keeps getting disconnected very frequently.1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Good 3G phone with plenty of capabilities.
by xox2b on August 21, 2009
Pros: The camera, even though it only has 2 megapixels, produce good photos. The 3G capabilities are nice. Its multimedia capabilities are also nice.So does the web browser in it and the Visual Radio, too.
Cons: Its memory size is small. Also, it requires RS-MMCs which are not common these days and it can only be expanded to around 512MB.It also require Nokia approved accesories so non Nokia accesories don't work with it.
Summary: Even if its already aged, it still has nice features. Its price is quickly diminishing but sadly, the accesories and add ons are also diminishing in popularity so plans of ...

Great Multimedia Computer. Does what it says on the box.
by anthonypace1991 on April 12, 2008
Pros: Great size, Unbelievable Speeds when compared to later Symbian devices like the Nokia N80, Great battery Life, Great Camera
Cons: May be a bit too large for some people.

Summary: This is a great phone, it does everything it says on the box and as well, it's 2Mpix camera is one of the best I have seen in my experience with Symbian mobile phones. It is even better than the 3Mpix Camera of the N80.
It is faster than other Symbian v 8.2 Devices and as well, the body is rock solid.
There is abundant Programs, and software availiable for this phone, and it is truly a Multimedia computer. (Written by a Maltese Student in IT) -
A mini computer, a true friend. And cellular also :)
by jpaulin on March 27, 2008
Pros: Expandability by installing Symbian applications. Lots of features, a mini studio, radio, mp3, gallery, email, web, Bluetooth
Cons: No infrared connection; would have been useful sometimes. Slow processor and user interface.
Summary: Nokia N70 is a very good phone. It's sleek (looks good), it's functional (good mechanics), the slider doesn't wear out (it slides smoothly after 2 years intensive ...
Summary: Nokia N70 is a very good phone. It's sleek (looks good), it's functional (good mechanics), the slider doesn't wear out (it slides smoothly after 2 years intensive and rugged use).
The N70 feels like a small scale supercomputer in your pocket. You have basically all you need. What could be more is GPS, infrared for backwards compatibility, and more CPU power (faster processor). But overall: very good Nokia! -
overall value for money phone.

The main menu is little different with the screen having only 5-6 options, which cannot be customized. It is not as user friendly as other mobile from NOKIA are.
Its cost in India in Dec was around 9500 INR. Their is one ME (Music Edition) also available, which is black and comes with 1 GB Memory card (cost around 10500 INR). -
good but slow at times

Summary: In the U.K the package gives minimal memory and would be simpler if the N70 used a micro SD. Music player has flaws, its tedious to switch off at best and texting is very slow through out the Nokia N series - the N70 been no exception. other than these the phone is very good, the brushed aluminium screen surround is very sopistcated, and the sliding back shows through thought when designing the phone.
The phone Is now one of the cheapest smart phones on the market, and for the £90 I payed I am very pleased!!!
