The good: The Nokia N8 and Symbian 3 offer a better and more enhanced user experience than previous devices. The N8 delivers excellent camera and video quality. The smartphone has solid hardware and offers 3G support for both T-Mobile and AT&T. You get free turn-by-turn navigation via Ovi Maps.
The bad: It's expensive. User interface is much improved, but still trails the competition in ease of use. The N8 can be sluggish. You only get a QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode, and there's no user-replaceable battery.
The bottom line: The Nokia N8 excels as a camera phone, and the improvements of Symbian 3 make it one of the company's best smartphones to date. However, it still has its shortcomings and an expensive price tag, making it a hard sell for the North American market.

Excellent multimedia rich device with robust quality

Pros: +The finished quality of this product with enormous set of multimedia features
+Camera is a stunning piece of art with great accuracy and image quality.
+The world wide free unlimited navigation with voice guidance + accurate and fast GPSCons: Browser could be a bit easier to use but it supports Youtube and Flash so its quite ok (Opera Mini is my choice). Builtin browser is expected to get major online update later on this autumn and that should address usability issues.

Summary: After using N8 for few days I have fallen in love to Nokia again. Symbian ^3 is really positive surprise with usability and has got some unfair judgments from reviewers just not familiar with Symbian before. The multiple homescreens (max three pages) contain all the information I need daily with widgets and applications, no need to enter the application grid at all.
Camera starts with single click from camera key and is a really fast and accurate peace of art. Well done N8, I'll be forgetting my Canon to home intentionally quite many times from now on ;)
I'm travelling a lot world wide and I love the Ovi Maps with unlimited free navigation and voice guidance. N8 map data is efficiently compressed and downloading the maps on the go consumes only a small portion of bandwidth compared to other smartphones e.g. iPhone and Android devices, this will save me from a large phone bills when travelling. No more phone bill surprises from roaming data connections! GPS locks fast (beats my Tom Tom IQ routes device in lock speed) and seems to be very accurate.
Sound quality both with calls and with music player is very good. The music player has got great usability improvements since earlier Symbian versions and is very nice to use now - finally.
There are lots of new applications developed with Qt (qt.nokia.com) and the Qt technology seems to attrack developers very well bases on different forum and blog comments, I believe the S^3 will be getting lot of developer attention. No need to use sluggish Java applications anymore as with Android.8 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.
