The good: The Palm Pixi Plus brings the addition of Wi-Fi and the capability to use the smartphone as a mobile hot spot. The sleek handset also offers Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS. The multitasking features of Palm WebOS continues to be one of the highlights.
The bad: The smartphone can be sluggish. The camera lacks editing options, and picture quality is pretty poor. No expansion slot.
The bottom line: While not a major overhaul, the Palm Pixi Plus adds built-in Wi-Fi and gives customers making the jump from a feature phone to a smartphone even more functionality without breaking the bank.

Summary: Overall a very good phone. Data intensive activities will drain battery faster. Official app catalog is sparse but adequate - with homebrew though, many more apps can be downloaded. Patches and themes can also be downloaded which provide more features for the phone. Multi-tasking is great on this device. A must buy.

Pure Garbage.
by hobo97 on August 1, 2011
Pros: The only good thing about this piece of garbage posing as a phone is the OS and the keyboard. That's it
Cons: Battery sucks, no apps, back cover falls off, screen sucks, not loud enough, vibrate not strong enough, extremely slow, unresponsive touch screen.

Summary: This phone is the worst piece of electronic garbage that i have ever used in my entire life. It's incredibly glitchy, sometimes freezes for no reason at all, doesn't have the apps that other phones have (Kindle, an official Twitter client, ect..), takes about 10 minutes to start up, (Yes, you read that right), and the piece of garbage cover that goes over the back is incredibly poorly made and tears and stretches out after only a couple of weeks of owning it. The touch screen is also a piece of $h!t. It registers taps SLIGHTLY ABOVE where your finger actually taps, and the battery drains even when the phone is off. Also, the vibrate is incredibly weak and the ringer is incredibly quiet, so it's very easy to miss call. Bottom Line, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IT WILL CAUSE YOU PHYISCAL PAIN, STAY AWAY

Worst. Phone. Ever.
by sandbox1979 on November 29, 2010
Pros: The only thing that I would consider positive about this phone is it's small size. It fits in an evening clutch, or the back pocket of jeans well, and has tiny buttons for small fingers. That's it.
Cons: Battery life sucks, speed sucks, memory sucks, durability sucks, sound volume sucks, vibrate doesn't work, loud keys...such a waste of time. Worst phone ever. I'd rather have an old Motorola Razr than this garbage.

Summary: Battery life=horribe. Dependable battery cycle=horrible. It shuts itself off periodically without cause or warning, freezes up randomly, wont ring when the riger is on periodically, DOES ring when the riger is off, doesn't have a reliable alarm clock (sometimes it will alert, other times not). If you download apps or take pictures, the phone slows to an impossible crawl and is pointless to try and use, the calendar is unchangeable if you have it synced with Facebook or any other program. It has not allowed me to do a 'mobile upload' since I purchased this piece of $h!t, either. Don't waste your money on this junkie thing. It will be worth your extra cash if you buy something dependable from the get-go. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent online and in the store and on the phone with tech-sup[port trying to get this thing to work for me. Thumbs DOWN. I am waiting patiently for my contract to renew so I can get something that will actually work for me.

Extremely disappointed - palm profile ia a nightmare!
by lizsieczka on April 30, 2010
Pros: Sleek, comfortable in the hand, clear screen. No service problems with verizon.
Cons: Palm profile (in the cloud...) does not let you or palm access any of your contact or calendar data without the phone. This is supposed to make for seamless transfers - not. Global search function is gone - can't search calendar.

Summary: I purchased the palm pixi plus to replace the palm centro because it is no longer being made. I did think that the new sleek profile and touch screen plus keyboard would be great, but I would have stayed with the centro/palm desktop if I could.
At first the transfer of data went fairly smoothly. I did have to update my palm OS first, then transfer data from the palm desktop to the phone, but this was successful.
The first problems started happening when I found that the phone was sluggish, even for simple things like looking up contacts, and when the camera was open with anything else.
Then the major disaster hit: I went on a trip and plugged a set of headphones into the phone to watch a video. When I unplugged them, the phone still recognized them as plugged in. This meant that in order to hear anything on the phone, I had to have headphones plugged in. No tech could solve this, so I was sent a replacement phone. I sync'd everything, then activated the new phone and sync'd again (as directed). Everything appeared fine until I found out that some of my contacts had made the transfer, but 300 were missing. Also my calendar only had data from when I got the pixi, not all the entries from my old Centro. I will not bore you with over 10 hours of tech "service" from verizon and palm, but the more they tried to fix the problem, the more data they lost. I eventually went to a store and had data transferred from my centro (only the contacts worked) to fill the gaps. Now I have duplicate entries for most of my contacts and I need to keep my centro to look up old calendar data (business related). I am going to leave it like this because I can't take the pain of any more tech calls. This was made especially nervewracking because you have no palm desktop backup to look at, and the palm techs cnn't see any of your data either (just when the data file was saved and how large it is). From now on I only save new data to google contacts/calendar because I can see and manipulate them online and I'm less worried about them being lost.
There are so many features missing from the new palm format: global search (you used to be able to search calendar, contacts, notes etc from one screen (two buttons on the keyboard) now only contacts are searched or you are bounced to google), reminders can only be set to a maximum of one day in advance, changing dates and times on the calendar is a pain (no calendar pops up, you have to change month, then date, hour and minute, am and pm separately by scrolling).
I would gladly switch to another phone, but the iphone coverage thru AT&T isn't adequate and I dread trying to transfer my data again (I'm still too traumatized...)1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

- Fast never had any glitches or freezes, tasking with this phone is awesome once you get used to all the features.
- Wifi,3g,Wifi hotspot app. Can enter a url in the search bar or just type a search term and it will take you right to Google with the results.
-Apps, I see people are saying lack of apps is a con. However I don't find it a Con. It has Facebook,Pandora,Mobile Hotspot,Spotify. A lot of phones don't have mobile hotspot.Doesn't have Twitter or stumble upon.
- Be careful try not to drop it a lot haha. My backing has cracks and even little chunks cut out. But I put a cool sticker over it so it looks cool and acts like a band aid holding it together nicely =). It's fragile like most phones if you get a case your set and won't have to worry about it. -
Great basic phone, easy to use!

for small hands, not so great for large fingers. Lacks upgrading to
Web OS 2.0 since HP decided one minute to stop supporting Web OS
and the next hoping someone buys Web OS to keep it running. Texting
works like its supposed to, you dont enter messages and find out
they get sent to the wrong person, even though the screen says "Mary" is who your writing to, and "Shelly" gets your messages, like with my experience on a Galaxy S Android phone. Saves your love life, when you text a few girls, no worries the wrong one
gets the wrong message. Buy the optional extended battery, doesnt require a new backplate, however the 2600mAH battery does, and with extra power, also needs a backplate which makes it a little thicker. -
I love this phone!
by april79us on July 13, 2011
Pros: Size, price, has enough apps for me, and I love being able to have more than one window open.
Cons: Sound is low and sometimes it says I have too many cards open when there is only one.

I like this phone.

Summary: I am a Palm fan. Overall I like this phone. I did like the calendar features on the Centro much better. That being said the browser and apps are much better on this phone. I use my phone A LOT and the battery does not last. The camera is not good at all.
This phone does everything I need it to do. I have had it a year now and am overall pleased with this phone. The buttons on the phone are small but they are usable once you get used to it. I have downloaded movies onto my phone so my children can watch them when we are somewhere but the battery life is so short the kids cannot play on my phone or it will die. I have mainly listed the negative things about the phone, but I have had it a year and am still happy with it. Try it....you have 30 days to check it out or you can return it. -
