The good: The Palm Pixi Plus brings the addition of Wi-Fi and the capability to use the smartphone as a mobile hot spot. The sleek handset also offers Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS. The multitasking features of Palm WebOS continues to be one of the highlights.
The bad: The smartphone can be sluggish. The camera lacks editing options, and picture quality is pretty poor. No expansion slot.
The bottom line: While not a major overhaul, the Palm Pixi Plus adds built-in Wi-Fi and gives customers making the jump from a feature phone to a smartphone even more functionality without breaking the bank.

The greatest phone that SUCKS!
by sajudo on March 22, 2011
Pros: The Pixi-plus is really cheap at $58, has a bright screen, and a killer OS. The ringer is loud and is very intuitive to use.
Cons: The Pixi- plus takes forever to start up and is so small that only a child can use it without having to re-enter phone numbers. Its battery life is really short and the charger slot is delicate. Mine became lose within a week. The worst thing of all is th

Summary: The Pixi- plus is a great attempt at making a great smart phone. Its design is pretty cool with all the features one might want for a first smart phone. I liked this phone even though it was designed for use by gnomes, and I don't have big hands. I was pretty excited about giving this phone to my son, but with the phantom black screen, it's now about as useless as a brick.

It sucks. Period.

Pros: I can't think of one. It sucked.
Cons: I think all the cons listed here covered mine...but the camera (or lack thereof) really took the cake for me.
Summary: Don't buy it.

A NIGHTMARE!
by Eaton1992 on March 16, 2011
Pros: Texting is beautiful since all you are able to do.
Cons: IOnce earbuds are plugged in, knocks sound off and ability to communicate. Phone won't ring just light up and you are unable to speak into phone meaning you can answer it but not hear or speak to person on other end. THIRD PALM PIXI PLUS THIS HAS HAPPE

Summary: After our third time they still keep insisting on sending another refurbished phone. My daughter attempts to listen to music and once she plugs earbuds in, phone is useless, only thing she can do is text. The phone is the biggest disappointment ever-DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$$. They told us they haven't really had other complaints such as. B.S.! We looked up reviews and sure enough, same complaints exist. Face the facts, the phone make is a lemon. 3 X's returned for same reason besides inconvenience of this "no phone" until another "refurbished" one arrives. They won't even give us credit towards just a different phone, a phone she can make calls and receive cals on after she listens to music. Obviously this Palm Pixi Plus has underlying issues with music and earbuds being used-HINT: Don't advertise download music as a feature then, misleading. AND, YES, WE THOUGHT WE WERE DOING THE SMART THING AND PAYING INSURANCE ON PHONE MONTHLY, WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF PHONE DOESN'T WORK. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. We have been w/ our service provider for many, many years and have accnt max'd w/ 5 lines, soooo dissapponited in the way this has been handled. Looking to switch providers if able to. Brushed off like nothing to them.

Summary: A few months ago I switched to Verizon because ATT didn't support the iPhone in the small ski resort I live in. Their network was terrible here and to port a local number over to my phone I could not use my iPhone. If I couldn't have an iPhone then no reason to stay with ATT. I got a Blackberry Bold and could not have been more disappointed. I had a Blackberry before my iPhone on Cingular (before the ATT buyout) and thought it was okay. In the 3 years away from the Blackberry nothing had really changed. The interface was clunky. Graphics an elementary student could have designed. The web browsing experience terrible. And last but not least, the vaunted keyboard is just horrible. Plus it was costing me an arm and a leg with calling, data plan, required Blackberry service, and tethering (extra $40). I called the support peeps at Verizon and asked my options. I told him that since I needed internet sometimes at client meetings and on the road when I travel often that I was going to get a calling only phone and the Verizon MyWi blackbox device. He said "I'll let you in on a little secret. Get a Palm Pre Plus or Pixi Plus. It has a $29 unlimited data plan and WiFi Hotspot for 5 devices for free. My wife and I use a Pixi at home for internet when on the road or as a backup when the internet at home is slow or out." They didn't have any refurb models in stock so he would have had to sell one at full value. He told me to check eBay. So sure enough I was able to buy a new one new in the box with accessories for $100. I was able to sell my Blackberry Bold for $160 and ended up $60 in the black. Even better is that my plan is now $90. Like I mentioned I had an iPhone and while I really liked it--it is kind of big and heavy. Also there are some interface shortcuts I like with webOS over iOS. The graphics on the webOS are, dare I say, comparable if not better. There was no tethering for the iPhone and even now it costs $30 a month extra--that's just one device. Now I can use my MacBook Pro and iPhone (as a glorified iPod Touch) with the Hotspot on my Pixi. Yeah the Pixi lacks apps and cool things like visual voice mail, but it makes up for it in size/weight, Hotspot, and Price. I could have bought a new iPhone for Verizon for full price and used that, but for now this setup works pretty well. I'm going to get an iPad and use that with the Pixi.

Good screen, easy to control and easy downloadable apps
by 92lydia on January 23, 2011
Pros: Screen is good quality, yet camera lacks this. Easy to control. Sound is good, yet not very loud.
Cons: Short battery life. Sometimes closes if i'm doing too many things at one particular time. Reception on O2 is not as good as previous phones I've owned.
Summary: As lovely as this phone can be, patience is often required and daily charging. Nice if used infrequently.

Horrible Phone
by mzzkeesh26 on January 11, 2011
Pros: can access email and has yahoo maps installed.
Cons: Phone constantly freezes, gives an error message saying you have too many cards open (apps open) when in fact you only have one app open or NONE at all. when trying to make a phone call the screen goes black and will not allow you to dial any numbers
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! Spend a little more $ and get a better phone.

Great looking phone, poor, slow service.
by bobhammons on August 27, 2010
Pros: The size of the phone is great. It's the best looking phone on the market. Very easy to learn.
Cons: Changing apps on the phone and changing windows was incredibly slow. The ringer is so quiet that you can't hear it in the store. I had to download a police siren ring tone so I could hear it. The side of the case where the charger goes in was melting
Summary: It looked really stupid when the cover melted. I ended up cracking the screen because it was in my pocket. It was no longer usable, at all. Very cool looking ...
Summary: It looked really stupid when the cover melted. I ended up cracking the screen because it was in my pocket. It was no longer usable, at all. Very cool looking phone but poor performance. I got it free for my 2 year upgrade, but later Verizon told me that since I got that model, if I were to break my contract it would cost me $349.

Summary: I really wish I could like this phone. It has the looks, but it is a very boring phone. I miss alot of calls because of the ringer not being loud enough. And for some reason, the ringer switch turns volume off, and the switch is showing volume is on. No flash, so alot of websites doesn't look right. You just have question marks where something is suppose to be. Not many choice's for app's to choose from. Seems like a basic phone.
