by starcell7 on March 21, 2011
Pros: Palm pre 2 is easy to use , the os has become my favorite . The qwerty key board is very usable. Being able to stack current apps with the ability to multtask. The screen is small but functional looks just fine. The phone Phone has a solid feel
Cons: A bigger screen would be better for browsing. And more available apps in the app store. Takes a while to turn on , even compared to other smart phones.

- webOS is able to multitask
- hardware keyboard
- quiet stable and robust (has fallen down two or three times with a result of no more than a few scratches)Cons: - too few apps are available

Summary: I really liked my Palm Pre 2 once I received and got used to it. I was positively surprised by webOS's functionalities of multitasking, switching between windows and its gestures and handling in general - even if not totally precise at all times, it is good and intuitive.
But after the first enthusiasm decreased, I came across a lot of problems and errors during everyday usage: since the offered range of apps is very small, I decided to install Homebrew Apps and Patches as well to have a wider range. First, most went fine. But then, after the first big webOS-system-update, my Palm Pre stopped working properly and I had to reset it in order to get it back to normal working mode. Lesson learned: be careful with patches and system updates, as they might get into conflict with each other. But even after the reset, I started to experience more and more problems over the course of 1,5 years: sometimes, my phone does not have any reception from one second to the next and this can most of the times only be solved by a restart. Then, the system sometimes stopps reacting to anything at all. Nothing can be done besides a restart, again. When I finally came to not being able to answer calls - display not reacting, sliding not reacting or display freezing while trying to take the call - I decided to leave the phone alone. Besides, email receiving sometimes works promptly and sometimes not at all (connection to exchange server - and it is not the exchange server not being reachable) and then, again, only restarting might, if I am lucky, solve the issue. So unfortunately, I have decided to move away from webOS and my Palm Pre 2 to Android. And even though I am already missing some of the webOS-features, I have to admit that Android is working more smoothly. -

Summary: I really regret getting this phone and am counting the days until I can change for something else under my plan. Sound quality is poor, typing is a nightmare (I had a Blackberry before this -- those are lightening fast to work on in comparison).
Whatever you do, don't buy this without thoroughly trying it out in a store, and once you get it, don't expect (as I stupidly did) that you'll get used to the Lilliputian keyboard. -

Great improvements to the Pre 2
by Waltimus on April 4, 2011
Pros: HP/Palm got rid of everything i disliked about the Palm Pre Plus, (double tap keystrokes, squishy keyboard, slow processor) and made it a much nicer more vibrant interface. Touchscreen is amazingly responsive, keyboard is great, and battery life has been
Cons: Still a little small, but with the keyboard improvements i don't mind.
Summary: Great OS, great interface, clear and vibrant screen, MS exchange, VPN, All in all a good phone that competes well.
