Palm Pre Plus (Verizon Wireless) price range: $89.24

The good: The Palm Pre Plus offers double the storage capacity and double the RAM of the Palm Pre. The smartphone also ships with an inductive back cover for Touchstone charging and features an improved QWERTY keyboard.
The bad: Speakerphone volume is too soft. We'd like to see a landscape keyboard and camera editing options. No support for V Cast Music or Video. The phone can run a bit hot.
The bottom line: The Palm Pre Plus earns its place as the top WebOS device, improving on the Pre with a better design and performance, and upgraded features. Verizon customers looking for a versatile smartphone to balance their personal and work lives will be well-served by the Pre Plus.

Summary: So we got this phone because it has a lot of things my husband need in a phone. ( i hope, he hasn't gottin his yet). But for a first time 'smart phone' user i was about to through it away by the end of my first night! Verizon does NOT have back up assistants on this phone, no way to separate different contacts, so everyone on your facebook, yahoo, ext. are now all in the same place on your phone. Which for me, I don't care about having 90% of the people on my facebook on my phone, nor do I want to have to look through 200 people with the letter 'G' in there name to find my grandma! I have no good things to say about this phone. The sales person who sold me the phone lied about to me and a week later I'm still trying to get it to work right. And palms 1-800 # was the biggest waist of time!

Summary: I get my free update with Verizon and I tried this phone. I went crazy with the crappy keyboard, the touch screen and its battery life, it works for less than 10 hours.
I spend just two days with this nightmare phone and I had to return it to Verizon, I paid all the extra fees and all that stuff and get a new Blackberry.
It was really a bad experience.1 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Frustrated but hopeful
by terisbauer on March 12, 2010
Pros: Terrific color contrast. palm size is good. multi-tasking opportunities. Great, clear sound. Quick set-up. Love love the Touchstone concept.
Cons: first phone-almost dead on delivery. Not a phone for beginners. I have thin fingers; still getting multiple letters, if I get the letter at all. Signal power not great. No booklet for learning the product. go on line-no sound. Touchstone=dead phone.
Summary: I'm keeping an open mind-hoping it's my inexperience. That said, I'm not a newbie to tech products and I definitely have not started off right. The first ...
Summary: I'm keeping an open mind-hoping it's my inexperience. That said, I'm not a newbie to tech products and I definitely have not started off right. The first phone went dead each time I extended it. Verizon was quick to replace it. V sold me a signal extender so I can get calls in and out-they went to voice mail! Extender works. I give Verizon Wireless credit for using all means to contact me and stay in touch. Unfortunately the Touchstone sometimes drains my battery while it says it's charging. Love the concept. Hate the teeny plug over the charger plugin on the phone-how about a push-pop out concept? I want to make this work but I'd sure like a small booklet included. Pre can't find the music I dragged and dropped. Never could get Palm site to download a file to let me upload my Palm stuff-probably too old Z22. or Google over-road it. I appreciated the Palm Pre instructional emails when I first purchased the phone.

Battery life is unacceptable.
by amperrymd on February 13, 2010
Pros: Beautiful screen. Multitasking is nice. Gesture interface is easy although sometimes quirky. Swiping over the gesture area sometimes has to be repeated. Very compact and comfortable to hold. The keyboard slides down with an easy one handed motion.
Cons: Battery life about 8 hours even with email, wifi and bluetooth shut off. Just on standby. My first phone became non-functional so I thought it was just a lemon, but the replacement is just as bad. Keyboard small Apps load sluggishly.
Summary: If you do not have the opportunity to charge your phone 2 or 3 times a day, stay away from this one. It is a deal breaker for me.

Easyto use , Had problems with Wifi and Bluetooth Sync!
by sharona51 on February 13, 2010
Pros: Easy to use menu interface. Has Keyboard and Touch Screen. Slick design
Cons: Poor Battery life. Shows fingerprints on screen. Nervous it would slip... hand grip would be useful. Pull out keyboard a bit flimsy
Summary: Short Battery life.Could not get it to Sync with Vista 64 with WiFi or BlueTooth.Spent hours trying. Wanted to interface thru Classics with Pocket Quicken..Did not work ...
Summary: Short Battery life.Could not get it to Sync with Vista 64 with WiFi or BlueTooth.Spent hours trying. Wanted to interface thru Classics with Pocket Quicken..Did not work as could not get sync. Heard that an aquantance also had same problems...He even called in tech support at his office to no avail. Verizon not consumer friendly at store level.Support from Verizon and Palm both poor and conflicting.
Had to return product... did not work as advised by verizon reps.0 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Too little too late.
by Ratnok on January 26, 2010
Pros: WebOS software, nice resolution, fashionable cute phone for business women, card based multi-tasking.
Cons: Cramped, irritating keyboard- although better than the "squishy" original Pre. No native landscape keyboard. Tiny screen. No removable memory, smallest App Market - barely got to 1,000 apps. Price vs. Droid Eris.
Summary: I was so excited that the Palm Pre Plus was coming. I was hoping it would have a readable screen. Less than 3.2 does not cut it. 3.7 ...
Summary: I was so excited that the Palm Pre Plus was coming. I was hoping it would have a readable screen. Less than 3.2 does not cut it. 3.7 inches is a GOOD screen. STILL no native horizontal keyboard- and yes, you can spend more money and buy an app, but on Android, there are over 30 different keyboard options in the Market. I do appreciate the improved keyboard- on the old Pre you could slit someone's throat with the retractable edges, and the "squishy" nature of the keyboard absolutely sucked. Typing in it was a chore. Glad they fixed that problem! On the note of apps, the biggest flaw with the Pre isn't the phone. The phone itself is actually better than any feature phone out there and better than some smartphones including the G1, myTouch 3g, Samsung Behold II, Instinct, and pretty much every Nokia and Blackberry out there including the Storms. Where it fails miserably is against the premier Android phones (Droid, Droid Eris, Nexus One, HTC Hero, and of course the iPhone 3G, and 3GS). Those latter phones are more feature packed and their app stores/markets, are EXPONENTIALLY LARGER AND MORE DIVERSE. Pre fanatics will cry in protest, but it is what it is. The iPhone is not available on Verizon, but 2 superior phones are - the Droid and the Droid Eris. Android has over 25,000 apps now, and Pre just broke 1,000. Even if 90% of all Palm apps are stellar and only 10% of Androids are (which is CLEARLY NOT THE CASE) then you would still have 2,500 quality Android apps vs. only 900 Palm apps. Until Palm gets 2 or 3 times more apps than it has now, I wouldn't bother with this phone when you can get more for less with the Droid Eris.

It's beautiful! I want one. As is, it's useless.
by TheOldDessertRat on January 21, 2010
Pros: WebOS is *awesome*! It does soooo many things... and it does them soooo well. Synergy... Multi-tasking...
Hardware is luxuriously beautiful.Cons: No Desktop Sync. No Expansion Slot. No Landscape Keyboard. No battery life. Screen is too small. There's this little item of losing the cloud - and losing the data in the cloud - what's up with that? Oh yeah, an extra $240 bucks for Verizon's GPS!
Summary: It's beautiful! I want one.I *really* want one! I want one so bad it hurts. However, as is, it's useless. Gotta wait *yet* another generation. (sigh) Sticking ...

Not a review. Simple question. WHY IS IT ON VERIZON?!?!
by Phipa_of_Cali on January 10, 2010
Pros: A revamped version of the palm pre. Great OS, better keyboard, wifi hotspot, video function, and 16 gb of flash memory.
Cons: Switched to verizon. Still no word on an onscreen keyboard; hence, the issue of having to flip it back to portrait mode when online in landscape mode still remains as an issue. No options for expandable memory.
Summary: I thought the pre was a sprint exclusive! Why the switch in carriers??? Any idea if it will be released for sprint as well?
I was really looking forward to ...Summary: I thought the pre was a sprint exclusive! Why the switch in carriers??? Any idea if it will be released for sprint as well?
I was really looking forward to getting a revamped palm pre...here it is and now I can't get it. :'(
I know this isn't a real review, but if anyone has any info on the switch, please share!0 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

I'm scratching my head...
by MulattoFox on January 17, 2010
Pros: 16gigs of memory, excellent multi-tasking, good sound, great screen, good pictures
Cons: Only for Verizon.

Summary: I currently have the Pre with Sprint. From a customer's perspective, it doesn't make sense to put this phone on Verizon. I've checked out Verizon's plans or "premium" plans.. They're complicated and leave much to be desired.Whereas Sprint's plans are simple and practically all-inclusive.
Let's break it down, shall we? Talking about individual plans; Verizon gets you on the minutes. Their nights start at 9:01pm - Sprint: 7pm. Both companies have free weekends.. no surprise there. Verizon gives you unlimited mobile to mobile, which means to other Verizon users. Sprint has the "Any Mobile Anytime" that lets you can call any mobile phone regardless of its provider and that comes with any plan you'll need to get with the Palm Pre anyway. Both companies offer a minute + unlimited data plan with 450 minutes. Verizon: $79.99 Sprint: $69.99. But, let's say you needed a few more minutes than that this month.. Verizon will make you extend your contract to change your plan. Sprint lets you change anytime you want without extending your contract.
In short, this 16gig Palm Pre is a tasty lure to the Verizon network, but that's all it is.. A lure. It's not worth the hassle of Verizon's lack-luster customer service overall..
