it's not a phone - several people in our company have ditched it
Pros: It checks email. We got them cheap. It doesn't crash much
Cons: The phone features are absolutely horrible and the ergonomics are bad as well. it takes over 5 seconds to grab a number from my SIM card (who wants to sort through over 1000 contacts when you've got the important numbers on the SIM). The escape button is

Best out there, but that's not saying much
Pros: The real-time email is a major plus, and it's why I bought the device in the first place. Also, the ergonomic design with the click-wheel is very well thought out.
Cons: The above pros notwithstanding, this product is poor enough that if there were any competitor products out there, I would immediately switch. Luckily for RIM, the iPaq's are even worse than the Blackberries. Where do I begin? 1. In possibly the worst pro

Summary: This the Blackberry work horse, the most popular Blackberry handheld. Rightfully so, it is smaller than the 75xx and 77xx. I find those models a little too big for my taste. Email on the go is addicting, they should of had his 10 years ago, also the device is rock solid.
Cons: Weak backlight but RIM has improved on this with the new 7290. Speaker is still way too low, hard to hear on the bus and subway.

Why did RIM go only half way???
Pros: I have had it for a month now. I had done a good amount of research for my next toy before-hand to replace an otherwise good cellphone (Nokia 6100) which I was using pretty much for the same functions as the BB except with a tiny screen, no keyboard but a
Cons: Plenty! RIM is not paying attention to details. I emailed them and they are saying new products are coming out in 04. I am hoping those will correct the cons of my 7230. Comes with an IR port but it is not being used by the OS. What is that??? No blueto

Blackberry versus Treo
Pros: Push e-mail!!! If you've every tried Treo you'd know what I was talking about. I'm switching back after a brief 14 day attempt to move to Treo. I'm sick of the crappy e-mail service via Treo. I miss my roller wheel versus the 5-way controller. I'm com
Cons: I wish it could do all the things Treo could do - download software and take pics being the two things I liked the best about Treo. However, at the end of the day for me I've got to choose the most reliable e-mail.

Excellent PDA/Phone...for right-handed people!
Pros: This is a great combo product for people like me that are always on the go. I love that I don't have to carry my entire office with me to do business away from home!
Cons: I'm left-handed and this is really set up for right-handed people. The scroll wheel and ESC keys are both on the right side of the device so it was a bit cumbersome for me to get used to.

Good Messaging not PIM
Pros: Message synch and calendar synch are execellent, web performance not bad. Ability to dial numbers found anywhere easily is great, keyboard best of its kind but still a pain if you need to shift for upper case or numbers, screen resolution great. To=Mobil
Cons: Memos (when synching with Lotus Notes) are not in foldes or categories making them useless once you get a good size collection. To-dos cant be categorized and i could not get it to synch - was told to delete all my to-dos and start over. No global search
