The good: The Samsung Epic 4G Touch boasts a large and bright 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. With a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, the Android smartphone is fast and 4G-capable. Camera quality is also excellent.
The bad: Call quality could be better. The phone is large and has a plastic build.
The bottom line: The Samsung Epic 4G Touch offers speedy performance, a beautiful screen, and a great multimedia experience to make it one of Sprint's top Android phones, but its large size won't be for everyone.

Summary: I was very skeptical getting the samsung galaxy S II due to bad experiences with samsung phones in the past. I must say each day I love my phone just a little bit more. It is able to multi task and has great features and display. The only thing that could be better is battery life but hey, its a smart phone.. Ive also had issues where I dial someone and it will connect me with another contact in my contact list. Im not sure if it is my phone specifically or if others have had that issue. It has also cut off by itself and turn back on but that may be due to apps that Ive downloaded in the android market.
5 months old phone and Im still loving it!

Pros: 1. Super Amoled Plus Display lets you see clearly ouside of sunny day.
2. dual core processor (fast enought to run any app)
3. Samsung's intellegent UI
4. sturdy handset (distributes the contaact force throughout the phone when the device is dropped)
Cons: 1. sprint network
2. too big for people w/small hands.
3. Galaxy Nexus is out
Summary: I got my phone 5 months ago (at the time when epic 4g touch was released). I had no problem with my phone. It's still a sleek stylish phone. ...

The phone lets you connect to your computer via USB, bluetooth, and also, Wifi. Over the wifi, you get to manage all your data by Samsung Kies program.
Nothing beats this phone in display wise, people try hard to see the screen in the sun but with samsung you can see the display in direct sunlight thanks to its superbright display.
But if you're going to get this phone, I'd recommend ATT's galaxy s2 or Verizon's Galaxy Nexus.
I have owned this phone for three months and I love it.
by tmichie99 on January 28, 2012
Pros: screen size, durability(I dropped from 18' off scaffolding onto a sidewalk and nothing was broken, Android has all the apps you could want, I don't have to use I tunes. Bluetooth, USB or WI-fi sync. I can sync with my outlook calender.
Cons: The only one I can think of so far is the speakerphone could be louder.

Pros: Myself, my daughter and friends enjoy Geocaching whenever possible. The GPS on this phone is terrific. We have yet to be sent off course. The display is amazing as well as user-friendliness of the phone itself.
Cons: No cons re: phone at this time.
by 1188viraj on November 6, 2011
Pros: Fast phone, with faster internet speeds compared to Motorola Photon from Sprint.
Cons: The big headache for me is the GPS locator (software or hardware), it has 2/10 success rate of finding my location in places like Chicago, suburbs of Chicago, near Memphis, places in Iowa. So if you travel by car a lot and use GPS, please do not buy this

Pros: Vibrant screen
Cons: Sprint 4G/WiMax coverage isn't the greatest
Not a fan of TouchWiz

Screen - This is the kind of screen that makes people turn and ask "What phone do you have?" I've got mine set at about 50% brightness and it's still visible in sunlight.
The 8MP rear camera takes great pictures, with or without the flash. The automatic settings work well for nearly every situation, but nearly every aspect of the camera can be adjusted manually. I haven't used the video recorder function for more than a few minutes, but the video I have captured was clear. The 2MP front camera works well with Skype and Google Talk.
I'm also a huge fan of the LED indicator light that lets you know if the phone is charging or charged, and blinks to let you know you have messages or email waiting.
Sprint coverage - Houston shows a large amount of 4G WiMax coverage but I've been having trouble in a lot of areas. 3G service is pretty consistent.
TouchWiz - I've barely used it because I found LauncherPro with my last phone and installed it soon after turning this phone on. Many people swear by it but I don't think they know better.
The complaints about the plastic case build are valid, but I've never used a phone without a case. I do worry that removing and replacing the back is going to wear out the tiny clips that hold it on.
Best Android Phone Sprint has to offer at the moment!

Pros: Gorgeous Super Amoled Plus Screen
Call Quality (Depends of your area)
Media Codec Support Galore
Great Font Size
Excellent Media Player
Toned Down Touch Wiz
1700 mha Battery
Swype Keyboard On Board
Cons: Plastic Build (feels a bit Light)
USB Charger resembles a black version of the Iphone Cable :P
No Headphones out of the Box (Nexus S 4G Does come with them)
It may be too big for some 4.5 screen (debatable)

Summary: Samsung has really done a great job of creating the Galaxy S II line. Sprint Version of GS II (Epic Touch 4G) may be big for some but the it makes it easy to read for some. I compared the screen of the Epic Touch 4g to the Evo 3D and Photon 4G and the clear winner is the Samsung Epic Touch 4G. There are many extras that makes this phone useful compared to the competition. It has way more audio and video codec support than Motorola Photon 4G. The Plastic chasse is the only real con due to the fact that it makes it feel a tad bit more like a child's phone but this is typical of Samsung Phones. The device dual core processor also does not disappoint, compared to the Photon 4G it felt about the same, and way much better than Evo 3D. The camera 8 megapixel sensor is awesome and on par compared to the iPhone. This is a phone that performs great and if you do not mind Touch Wiz interface (which does not feel intrusive) this is a definite buy.

awesome screen, unreliable wifi signal
by c_hop on October 14, 2011
Pros: Beautiful screen, fast (when wifi is working), responsive touchscreen, light for its size
Cons: wifi works great at home but lousy at work, phone has an issue with the ebay app (see app reviews), thinness of phone ocassionally puts my hand to sleep
Summary: Were the wifi to perform consistently on this phone it would probably warrant a 4-4.5 star rating - compared to my work iPhone 4 wifi service this phone is ...
Summary: Were the wifi to perform consistently on this phone it would probably warrant a 4-4.5 star rating - compared to my work iPhone 4 wifi service this phone is a dog. I like streaming Pandora and Slacker during my day. Also, this phone is not friendly with the ebay app (see the app reviews for many specific call outs). I have become too familiar with the term "forced close." I really wanted to get away from the iOS platform and head over to Android for the fast hardware, but for me wifi is very important. I'll settle for slower specs in a reliable phone than blazing specs in one that can't perform the basic stuff that I need.
