Pros: Cute little phone, good processor speed
Cons: Awfull! Battery will not last more than 2 hrs, even though the phone is not being used! I purchased it 1 week ago and guess what? I'm returning it as soon as the MetroPCS store opens Monday.

Biggest Disappointing Rip-Off EVER!!
by Consumer4truth1

Pros: Has a wide-array of user features, apps, capabilities.
Cons: The battery life is HORRIBLE, The MetroPCS network and customer service are remarkably horrible, I spent $347 for a new phone and service. This is about $100 more than the latest iPhone through AT&T or Verizon.
Summary: The purpose of writing this review is to get the REAL TRUTH out there!! When shopping for new phone service, I went to MetroPCS because I thought I'd get ...

Summary: The purpose of writing this review is to get the REAL TRUTH out there!! When shopping for new phone service, I went to MetroPCS because I thought I'd get a deal and save money (I was wrong). I asked about the battery life for the Samsung Galaxy Attain phone, and was told that it would last all day with minimal text and phone use. After purchasing this phone with the unlimited MetroPCS service, I immediately ran into technical issues while setting up my phone and e-mail accounts. When I call customer support I had to jump through hoops just to get a real person, and when I did they barely spoke English and offered no help. My first day of regular usage consisted of taking the phone off the charger at 10:00am, not using the phone at all with it on standby until my lunch break at 4:30pm, and by this time the battery was dead. I thought surely this was a phone defect and not a regular occurance. I checked forums that all said positive stuff about the phone and dismissed any problems. I tried apps to increase the battery life, and anything else I could think of. However, The phone wouldn't even hold a charge in standby for 6hrs. When I took the phone back to the dealer, he was reluctant to return the phone because it had over 2 hours of talk time already, which was impossible for the amount I used it. I explained the problem and he told me my only choice was to take it to a corporate store to get a replacement. When I went to the corporate store I started to explain my problem to the rep. and before I could finish she knew exactly what phone model I was referring to as if this were a regular issue. She told me that even if she replaced the phone I'd still have the problem because the 4G LTE network (that you can't turn off) drains the battery so quick. The only option she offered me was to buy 2 additional batteries to keep as backup, explaining that the other rep. does the same for her phone. I felt like I was lied to by the dealer to get a sale, however, upon reflection I think he may have just told me what he thought was right. After a huge fuss and an unrelenting ambition I returned the phone and got my money back. I then went straight to the AT&T store and purchased a new 4Gs 16gb iPhone for $100 less than the Samsung Galaxy Attain phone & service. My battery lasts all day and then some, and I've had no problems with service. Why ANYONE would EVER purchase the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G phone is far beyond comprehension. Even the most basic of functions on this phone are only accessible with a charger nearby. Bottom-Line - The phone is no good if you can't use it for what you need. WORST PHONE EVER!!

Pros: 4G Coverage, Screen brightness & flow, different android gingerbread theme, back&front camera, really fast phone with no lag, 7 home screen pages, wallpaper doesn't stretch, lock screen is nice, descent battery life, can use internet while on phon
Cons: Change from Android keyboard to Samsung keyboard? Which will take a little getting used to, but nothing to be so crazy angry about.
Summary: So I upgraded from the Admire to the Attain 4G. I was so sick (even in Boston) of Facebook being so slow and boy was it worth it!I did ...

Summary: So I upgraded from the Admire to the Attain 4G. I was so sick (even in Boston) of Facebook being so slow and boy was it worth it!I did a lot of research and decided to get the Attain since I like the 3.5" screen size and the phone is so sexy! I just wanted the 4G upgrade I didn't feel the need to get the Connect!!! I have to say 4G speed is amazing, and it has a new theme in the phone since it is 2.3.6. It's green!!
One thing I like is the 4 touchable buttons on the bottom of the phone. I had that with the admire and I love it. Unlike with the Admire when u press them for a sec the phone it will go on but the attain you have to hit the power button!
I live in a basement apartment where I mostly roamed, but for some reason I get 1-3 (5 max) bars throughout my house without roaming! It's amazing! My bf had the esteem and he roamed everywhere like my Admire did in my apartment. Amazing phone couldn't be happier!! Got it from Best Buy for $229 and I am a very happy customer now :) Good job metro!!

I do think though that this is a phone for people who don't need the top notch phones that are for Metro for $300 who want the 4G coverage. I love this phone, but I am going to keep it maybe till the the beginning or to end of summer and then get the Connect.

If battery life is an issue, get a battery pack. I am getting one, you get two 1800 MAH batteries from Ebay and it comes with a wall hookup to put one battery in. At night you charge both batteries one with you're phone, and one on the wall and for the day u have two batteries that last an extra hour or two than the original battery. here's the link : http://www.ebay.com/itm/280857822475?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Pros: 4G (Not blazing, but fast enough to STREAM good quality video), Dual Camera , Fully customizable...
Overall Fast Phone, not a lot of lag.
Cons: Browsers crash(Dolphin and MetroWeb - Firefox has been stable but it's slower), Camera quality in low light or movement. Video quality.
LACK OF ABILITY TO SWITCH FROM 4G to WI-FI WITHOUT HAVING TO CLOSE THE PROGRAMS.
Summary: This is a great phone if you're like me... Not worried about having the latest and greatest phone, because you have dedicated equipment for everything.

Summary: This is a great phone if you're like me... Not worried about having the latest and greatest phone, because you have dedicated equipment for everything.
This phone is good... Battery life is great if you're not a data hogger, otherwise, you'll be out within 2 to 3 hours.
Unlike CNET reviews, My call quality is great on this phone... Bluetooth connectivity is awesome and includes streaming.
4G is VERY VERY fast if you're used to MetroPcs' regular speeds, but very slow if you're coming form one of the big 4 carriers.
I am a hobbyist photographer and that's my biggest disappointment here... During daylight, still pics are great... But turn off the lights and the images become a nightmare in a sandstorm... Also, I went to see Guns n' Roses at the House of Blues and they did not allow cameras... So the cellphone was my only hope of getting a good video... And the video quality wasn't that bad, but the sound was horrid... It sounded like the songs were being played as a train passed by the tracks.
Anyway... To summarize... Good entry level 4G smartphone.

Summary: I bought this phone last week. So far, no major issues with the phone itself. The battery life is pretty decent with average use. I don't always get great Metro service everywhere I go, but when I'm at home, I get pretty good service. Metro customer service is a nightmare to the phone set up, but after the headache, I'm satisfied.

Pros: Forward and rear facing camera with camera button on side, flash, works on 4G network, able to use it on Metro PCS unlimited plan.
Cons: Stock Music Player usless when playing from playlist(huge lag/freezing).
Phone doesn't send musics ID3 tag info over bluetooth.
Camera doesn't have zoom(Even by software).
Has huge lag when connected with bluetooth rendering phone almost useless.

Summary: Bluetooth does not seem to be AVRCP 1.3+ compatable. At least it's stock music player does not transmit such data as track title and artist when playing over Blueooth to a head unit capable of displaying metadata(most current android phones as well as IOS have no problem transmitting this data over bluetooth). Using the stock Music Player I created a custom playlist of ~100 songs. When switching songs from this playlist there is at least a 10 second lag. Connect to a compatable stereo over bluetooth and this lag at least doubles and often renders the phone useless until a hard restart is performed(had to pull the battery on multiple occasions). When I pay $239 for a phone I would at least expect it to be capable of properly playing music over bluetooth. I found that PowerAmp music player does not have this lag. When answering a call over bluetooth I have had the stock music player start playing music over a phone call answered on bluetooth. The phones screen turned green and had I to pull the battery again to reset. Bandwidth on Metro's 4G network has averaged 3078kbps on downloads and 1945 on uploads pretty slow when compared to other 4G networks. Androids browser seems really slow like dialup days. I switched to using Dolphin HD as my web browser which is still snail speed on this phone. WiFi tethering is crippled on this phone. I could only accses YouTube and facebook using tether. Google maps is a great navigation tool however when I'm driving it will cause the phone to hang unless I first disable bluetooth.
Battery life is disapointing. I do not use my phone at work but the battery is often dead after nine hours between a charge. Battery life was about half that when I first bought the phone. On a couple occasions I wiped the phone clean to see if that would fix the issues I have with the crippled wi-fi tether and stock music player using created playlist but that didn't help at all. Also, tried 2 other micro SD cards but didn't fix the lag issue with the stock music player. I have liked Samsung products in the past but I feel short changed on this product.
