- The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a big step forward for Android, but it's not the giant leap you may have been expecting. As impressive as it is, Ice Cream Sandwich can be messy, and without it, the Galaxy Nexus is just another Nexus device.

The good: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus brings a ton of new and very welcome features with Ice Cream Sandwich. The design is sharp, the screen is gorgeous, and the internal performance is fantastic.
The bad: Ice Cream Sandwich has eliminated some of Android's learning curve in some aspects, just to re-create it in others. There was some static on calls, and there's no external memory card slot. Also, like other Samsung Galaxy devices, the Galaxy Nexus feels rather fragile.
The bottom line: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a big step forward for Android, but it's not the giant leap you may have been expecting. As impressive as it is, Ice Cream Sandwich can be messy, and without it, the Galaxy Nexus is just another Nexus device.

Not what I expected. IMHO, kind of underwhelming!
by ecp1141 on November 18, 2011
Pros: Not much! Vivid screen, but then again, there are better screens out there! there.
Cons: Screen is too big! 4.65"? Its getting out of hand! We are going back to brick size cell phones! Cheap feel to it. OS is really for tablet. So-so call quality. Average camera for today's standard.
Summary: I was looking forward to it, but now, disappointed!

Not very impressed. So far it's the worst phone ever.
by dhyttel1 on December 15, 2011
Pros: Screen is big.
Cons: Too many to list at this point.
Summary: Don't buy this phone. I'm thinking of getting something else tomorrow. You can't get to email unless you get a new one and the contact navigation sucks.

Summary: I dont care what kind of fanboys are out there heavily bias towards this phone. IT IS NOT an upgrade from the s2. The hardware comes through even with the "optimized" OS. My S2 literally spanks it in every department except screen res and even that, its close due to the pentile crap.
This is not by a looooooong shot the best phone out. pick up an S2 or iphone 4s.
Definitely a disappointment in many departments.0 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

I got my hands on this phone for a day.
by jollyroger138 on November 8, 2011
Pros: Large screen. slim. very light. blacks and colors/contrast were nice. .lack of buttons on screen face.Apparently this phone is suppose to work well with google+...I didnt explore that though.
Oh ya...we used this phone all day, tinkering and taking photosCons: I found there was a lack of crispness to the screen. The size was awkward, but with time might be something I could get used to.
The first thing I noticed was the 5mp camera and I thought it was weird, but anticipated a better sensor of white-blance.

I was more Impressed with using Andriod on this phone(I have a 4s)as it was refreshing looking at a different OS. I was really looking to be blown away by this screen knowing that Samsung makes some really amazing screens, but was unimpressed. The start up screen tries to bedazzle you with a glittery arrangement of shapes and colors showcasing Samsung Amoled tech...Its a let down.
I compared 4s side-by-side and 4s won hands down..4s of course is just smaller.
I didn't notice anything different with regards to screen surface, it felt the same as any other phone I've tried .
Over all it is a pretty cool phone...Look out for retnia scan/un- lock technology soon.6 out of 29 users found this user opinion helpful.
