The good: Oodles of screen real estate make the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 terrific for videos, games, and reading; and its improved stylus aids productivity. A blazing quad-core processor, a great camera, and strong battery life round out the advantages of this Android 4.1 phone.
The bad: The huge display makes the Galaxy Note 2 unwieldy to carry, and hiccups in the S Pen stylus and apps can slow you down. The pricey Note 2 isn't a suitable tablet replacement across all categories.
The bottom line: Samsung delivers a powerful, boundary-pushing device that gets a lot right. Yet its complicated features and high price raise questions about its purpose.

There's a lot to love about this phone!
by volsfan0911 on December 6, 2012
Pros: screen real estate, display, hardware, 4.1.1 jelly bean, NFC, removable battery, SD card slot, battery life, call quality and overall performance.
Cons: size, no one-handed operation for me at least, VZW non-removable bloatware and feature crippling, no Google wallet allowed by VZW either and ISIS isn't rolled out yet.
Summary: This thing is ginormous - and that's a big deal (literally). First off, decide if you can deal with a phone this big. It fits into my jean pockets ...
Summary: This thing is ginormous - and that's a big deal (literally). First off, decide if you can deal with a phone this big. It fits into my jean pockets just fine (plain 'ol Levis 501's). I have fairly small hands and cannot use it one handed. Maybe LeBron can. I am coming from an iPhone 4 and wanted a big display as my main criteria. Check, got that in spades now. Every other aspect of the phone is state of the art android - quad core processor, 2 GB RAM & jelly bean ensure a smooth experience. No lag, stutter or freezing. I HATE that verizon screws up so many things on this phone but that's par for the course with VZW (persistent wi-fi notification, they castrated multi-tasking options, stripped out blocking mode, don't let you scroll through home screens all the way around, etc.) The positive side is LTE rocks on this device and I've gotten good signals on both cellular and wi-fi after using it for a week. Battery life is awesome, you can wail on it all day and not worry about charging until you get home. Nav works great on it due to sheer screen size.
forgot one thing I missed desperately from my crackberry days - exterior notification LED! It's so nice to have one again, why can't Apple understand this? The motion gestures are pretty cool as well. There's something awesome about flipping your phone over to reject a call.
Other thoughts on the phone - tectiles (NFC stickers) really work well. I've followed suggestions from online and made some for car, house, sleep, etc. Wish that VZW would get off its ass and either allow Google Wallet or roll out ISIS. Not having widespread mobile payment systems is pathetic - quit being so greedy, get the details and agreements ironed out then let's go already. Catch up to the rest of the world already would you?
And finally, this is the first phone I've had in a long time (since my Treo 600 back in the day) that people actually stopped to comment on. Everyone loves it, wants to see the display and several have told me "I just found my new phone". It really is a major leap for cell phones - to make one that big and it works so well. Go Samsung. I thought about the iPhone 5 briefly but was so disappointed with what was released that I said "screw it, going to try Android". Love it, no regrets, not going back to Apple unless they get their mojo working full steam again.

Summary: I've been using this phone since 3 weeks now and i can rightly tell you this is best phone till date.It is very fast with its 2gb ram.screen is absolute joy to look at with the vibrant colors. Its very good even for reading ebooks & browsing. The multiwindow really shows the phones capability. The biggest advantage of this is phone is its battery life. You can forget the charger for the weekend trip & still expect the charge to be present when you return.I even got 4 days with about 2hr wifi usage per day with 1-2 hour video per day and other tasks.Stylus is something unique to this phone and samsung has succeeded to a great extent in it.My only complain is they could have have improved the built quality nevertheless it is still a solid phone. Also im hoping they will add the screen recorder function as advertised. If you dont mind using a large phone(it is still pocketable)this is the best money can buy!!....

I can't complain that it didn't match my expectations.
by theappers on December 17, 2012
Pros: 1. - Large, amazing, Gorilla glass display
2. - Excellent performance
3. - Nice camera
4. - 64gb external card slot
5. - Pretty good, removable battery
6. - Marvelous design
7. - S Pen
8. - Premium buildCons: - It kinda overheats when playing games [when I play NFS Most Wanted or Asphalt 7 or The Bard's tale or any other game that requires good performance, after an hour or so, it starts overheating a bit under the camera on the back]

Summary: 1. The big thing about the Note II, must be the screen. I never liked staring at small screens... for me the large screen it's not a drawback, it's what I've searched for. It really is beautiful, HD, making the Note II experience awesome.
2. About the performance, it works out tremendously fast. If an app crushes, when you press the home button, you don't have to wait at all.
3. The camera takes pretty neat pictures for a phone. The video, as well, is outstanding.
4. With the 64gb card on, I don't feel the need of carrying a laptop, to have a decent amount of storage with me.
5. If you constantly use it, then you'll have to charge it daily.
6. The thing I remember when I unboxed it, was thinking 'Damn this thing is nice...'. On the internet it doesn't look so eye-catching.
8. It does feel very good in the hand.
For some people, they see it awkward to have a phone that big. Get used to it... it's the future [prophetic moment :> ]. For me, I really like it.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: There is seemingly endless tricks to learn, this isn't even really a con I just feel like it's going to take me forever to truly find out everything this phone can do.

Summary: This phone is massive and beastly in every sense of those words. It's easily the best phone i've ever had and I'm not a fan of Apple so I'm really enjoying the entire experience so far. There's so much more I have to learn from this thing I probably won't even get it all by the next time I upgrade lol

Any one want to buy my iPhone 4S

Pros: Everything (apart from Kies (not that you need to use that anyway.

Summary: I got this beast on a bit of a whim when I was bored one day. I have to say it's the best impulse buy I've ever made. Don'e get me wrong, the iPhone is a juicy bit on kit. I'm afraid though I've now only used it to check out which apps I've got on it to see if I can get them for my beast! The iPhone now seems so small and with the Tab I don't need to put my glasses on when I get a text!
The ease of use is astounding, and a "back key" where it should be!
The pen is great, I wasn't sure at first but use it all the time now as it can even translate my handwriting after the odd beer or three!
I love it. I'll be interesting what the other big players bring out to compete with this beast.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best Smartphone for those who can handle the size.
by m0n0lyth on January 10, 2013

Summary: Lets start with the most notable feature, the massive screen. This thing is a beauty! The resolution is sharp and clear and the image quality is out of this world when it comes to phones. Everything is so vivid and bold!
Next, the power. This device is more powerful than many laptops out today, and it shows. From the first time you boot this thing, you can instantly recognize how incredibly fast it is. The interface is so liquid smooth you might just find yourself scrolling through homescreens in a trance. Handles tasks like a champ and runs any mobile game you can throw at it without breaking a sweat. I though my Moto Atrix was powerful, this thing has that beat by far.
S Pen. I never thought I'd be one of those guys that uses a stylus. What Samsung has done with this device is genius. The airview feature is extremely useful. The accuracy of the stylus is impeccable! My handwriting actually looks good on an electronic device for once!
Sound quality - This came as a huge surprise and not many people mention it. The sound that comes from this devices speaker is pristine and rich. Yes it's a mobile device and it's certainly not a Bose system, but for what it is, it is definitely worth noting.
Build quality - The construction of the Note 2 is outstanding. It is an all plastic body but it feels very solid. No creaking or cheap plastic noises when holding it. Overall it feels extremely well-built while still maintaining a bit of sophisticated delicacy due to it's thinness and larger dimensions. When you hold this phone, you know you're holding onto something special.
Size - For many this may seem like a con but I believe if anyone gives this phone 1 day, they'll be used to the size and loving it. I wasn't phased by the size at first though I could sense its largeness. After a day I was used to it and any other phone just seems too small. I tried to use my Atrix 4g and it felt like a little toy.
I say with absolute confidence that this is the best mass-produced, consumer-level smartphone that money can currently buy. HTC has some comparable models but they don't really come close when you dig a bit deeper. The iPhone has lacked innovation for the past few generations and this device, without a doubt, blows iphone5 out of the water. The Galaxy Note 2 is worth every single penny.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

From iPhone 5 to Note 2
by dbozard on December 26, 2012

Summary: Let me first say that I had Verizon's iPhone 5 before this Note 2. I was afraid I would miss the iOS environment and the Apple App Store, however, this is not the case. I have had many phones over the past few years (iPhone 3G, Droid 3, Droid Razr Maxx, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 to name a few) and I have to say this is the best phone I've ever had!
The main reason I kept sticking with Apple products was the disappointment with the lag of Android. So far (2 weeks in), I have had ZERO lag on the Note 2 (Verizon). I waited for the iPhone 5 and purchased it, but ultimately, I was very disappointed in the lack of improvements iOS has made over the last 5+ years. Apple used to be innovators and now it seems they are playing catch-up (especially in the features and screen size department).
In short, I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend this phone to any iPhone users on the fence (not knowing whether to make the Android switch or not). If you take the leap...you will not regret your decision.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Ground Breaking Earth Shattering Experience.
by lusayalumino on December 11, 2012
Pros: Fast, productive, phenomenal software, superb hardware, lightning fast, intuitive, practical, professional, sexy.
Cons: Speaker is not as powerful as I expected (my last two business phones had very powerful noise cancelling speakerphones).

Summary: I started out with Casio Boss 20k in 1980's; then palm, then iPaq, etc -- this is the phone I've always dreamed of. I sold my 7" tablet -- now everything is consolidated. I bought it for the large screen... to my shock that's my least favorite think about it after playing with it for a few weeks. This thing just works right. Intuitive, productive, efficient, beautiful. It's impossible to explain the perfection and chemistry. I'm done with iPhone... this is the pinnacle of hardware and software experience and perfection. You need to buy one and play with it for a couple week in order to understand. Makes iPhone seem likes a child's toy.
