The good: The Samsung Galaxy Note's 5.3-inch HD screen is ideal for showcasing multimedia. It has 4G LTE, a great 8-megapixel camera, and a souped-up S Pen stylus that brings new ways to interact with your phone.
The bad: The Galaxy Note's S Pen is small, has a delayed response, and requires a little training to use. The phone will be awkwardly large for some, and it doesn't fit easily into pockets.
The bottom line: With its huge screen and throwback stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Note is a polarizing smartphone that winks at tablet territory. Those who like their screens XL will find a top-notch device that lets multimedia shine. The S Pen adds some artistic potential, but for some, the phone will just simply be too big.

Not Happy at all
by itsso on August 27, 2012
Pros: screen size excellent for browsing
Cons: hopeless keypad spacing between letters not separated having to repeat and repeat typing.
the quality of the sound is also very bad, I am unable to hear people clearly, and yes my hearing is okSummary: I wonder if anyone else has these problems ,more to the point I wonder if Samsung are aware of these problems and will sort them out.

Baby tablet meets phone.
by jeanwmsbg on July 24, 2012
Pros: Big, big, big!! Not lost easily!16G Memory.
As a phone - don't worry about looking funny with large phone - USE THE "SPEAKER" function.
Read a book with a screen almost as big as e-reader.
Children love the big screen for games.Cons: Will Samsung get it's 4.0 straightened out so we can update?!!
Bloatware....Summary: Forget tablet & phone, the Note is a great cross-over.

Samsung Note rocks with ICS upgrade!
by ChuckG51 on July 18, 2012
Pros: * Large screen mitigates need to carry a smartphone and tablet.
* ICS improves the performance, makes apps operate smoother.
* New Samsung app S Note is cool and improvement to S Memo.
* Ability to swap batteries is great for extended work needs.Cons: o The plastic tabs on the back cover can break-off.
o The volume switch, better located on the right side aiding one hand operations.
o Wallpapers, its difficult to adjust options within the "orange" box for downloads.Summary: Love the Samsung Note - - more since the ICS upgrade, having given-up my iPhone4 with its small screen. I am an IT professional who is always on the go, ...
Summary: Love the Samsung Note - - more since the ICS upgrade, having given-up my iPhone4 with its small screen. I am an IT professional who is always on the go, needing internet access and a larger screen the older I get. The Note is the best of both worlds, being a smart phone and small tablet, it fits in a nerds big cargo pockets!

Best of both worlds (Tablet/Phone) all wrapped up in 1!
by WINPPLE1963 on July 16, 2012
Pros: NFC, great graphics, wonderful camera, speedy, easy to use and the S Pen is to die for.
Cons: Might be a tad too big for folks with small hands but always best to use 2 hands even for those of us who have large hands.

Summary: Samsung just does things right. Sure it's not a piece of glass or metal bearing device, but it is well put together (Gorilla Glass) and simply delivers the most comprehensive user experience of any device available today. I used them all (iPhone 4S, BB 9900, Windows Phone and Sammy S2 LTE) and this is by far the most impressive device of them all.

Summary: For those who complain about the back cover being thin...it's mean to be. To keep thickness to a minimum they designed it that way. The back cover is extremely flexible and shatterproof (which is good when dropped...unlike the iphone which will shatter). If you load up your phone with widgets you can expect poor and laggy performance....be smart about widgets. Also, if you sync up tons of accounts (like the wretched Facebook app) you can expect poor battery life. I was an owner of the OG Droid and this phone is light years beyond that one. It's like having a computer in your pocket. It may seem large at first, but after a while you will really appreciate this phone. I will root it after ICS is released for it and take off all the ATT crapware.

Making a phone that works great in a clinical setting
by MELV1N on June 7, 2012
Pros: - Really fast phone for switching/opening aps.
- GPS works exceptionally
- I really love the stylis for reading online material.
- Reading articles is easy on the eyes.
- Skype works great on this phone, "Hi Mom :)"
- Netflix
- 32GB upgrade =+Cons: - ATT bloat-ware, I would pay for the app that takes this crap off my phone.
- Really flimsy/cheap back cover
- Low Volume
- Big Phone! It is in my lab coat at work and cargo short pocket on my days off.
- For an 8MP camera, the photos seem soft.Summary: I just upgraded to the Note from the Samsung Galaxy Captivate two months ago. The Note works essential the same, but is much much faster. I work in a clinical ...
Summary: I just upgraded to the Note from the Samsung Galaxy Captivate two months ago. The Note works essential the same, but is much much faster. I work in a clinical setting and find that I keep much more reference documents on my phone, because it is quick to access.
Upgrade Recommendations:
- SEIDIO Extended life Battery-5000mv. I bought a Seidio for my Note and find it to be a high quality product. It adds about the twice the multimedia use time. I can get around 8-10 hrs use with all the bells and whistles going (wifi, streaming music, phone, gps and surfing) and for days if I only use it as a phone. It makes the bottom half of the Note about twice as thick, but I find that since the phone is already big, it does not seem to have a big effect on the overall size. The battery comes with a modified back phone cover. Negative: For some reason Seidio does not make a protective case for phones using their extented battery, which is ironic since protective covers are also what they specialize in.
- 32 gig SD-Card- The phone is even faster with music, pics and documents on the external card.
- My next investment will be the latest blue tooth
My captivate had an ingenious sliding lock for the back cover, but the Note has a surprisingly cheap back cover design for such an expensive phone. I haven't had the inevitable crash and burn phone drop to the floor, yet. I am really afraid that the phone could break when it finally happens (especially with the the larger battery).
I am a stylis Geek. I don't use it for writing so much but for scrolling through articles. When Reading a CNN or CNet article, an entire paragraph usually fits within the screen (sideways), and it does not require magnifying glasses. The stylis allows fine tuned scrolling without smugging the screen.
Calendar function works well. I have an insane schedule, and the gmail based calendar has an expanded monthly veiw that gives a quick glance of the month's agenda. My wife makes schedule changes on her tablet which makes the updates to my phone.
Conclusion: I don't have the patience nor time at work for a tablet, because I am constantly on the move. The Note excells for those who find that their breaks for surfing the internet or reading are in between work stations. I find that as a phone it is much more cumbersome on my days off. I am generally not one to carry a backpack so finding a place to put the Note has been an issue- It's great in the coffee shop, but it's getting it there that can be painful.
- ATT bloat-ware, WHO BUYS THIS CRAP WHEN YOU CAN GET IT FOR FREE? I would pay for the app that takes these app icons off my phone.
Functions I love: GPS works great (the captivate's was horrible). The screen is perfect for Netflix in bed. Facing cam for Skype works well. Voice Cammand is adequate- I am still learning. I have big hands and find that texting is much easier with this phone. Good luck- I haven't regretted it -
BEST PHONE/Tablet On the market...Hands down!!

Pros: Fast, crisp screen, easy to use, comfortable to hold, storage, battery life, picture quality.....The list goes on and on....

Summary: I absolutely love this phone....I've owned several phones including an Iphone4 for several years.......I tired of never being able to really customize my Iphone4...only to the short limits they would allow.....with the Android OS I can what I want to the phone and personalize it to my liking....
Samsung has done an AMAZING job with the quality of this phone.....I find myself using this for most things other then my graphic programs....it's so easy to carry around in my purse without have to lug around my laptop. The screen is a wonderful size to be able to view most anything....and perfect size to read books.
Samsung got it so right with this phone/tablet........I consider it more a tablet then I do a phone...and it pairs perfectly with my bluetooth earpiece and keyboard. I am very thrilled I purchased this phone!! Would highly recommend it to everyone!!! -

Summary: After passing the Note over initially my Droid X started to really show its age so I started researching and the more I delved into the Note, the more I really wanted one.
Got to the point where I found out Verizon wasn't getting it, so I dropped em, switched to AT&T so I could get a white Galaxy Note.
An expensive switch, but well worth it!
