The good: The Samsung Galaxy Note's 5.3-inch HD screen is ideal for showcasing multimedia. It has 4G LTE, a great 8-megapixel camera, and a souped-up S Pen stylus that brings new ways to interact with your phone.
The bad: The Galaxy Note's S Pen is small, has a delayed response, and requires a little training to use. The phone will be awkwardly large for some, and it doesn't fit easily into pockets.
The bottom line: With its huge screen and throwback stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Note is a polarizing smartphone that winks at tablet territory. Those who like their screens XL will find a top-notch device that lets multimedia shine. The S Pen adds some artistic potential, but for some, the phone will just simply be too big.

WOW! This is Very Impressive! Great Phone!

Summary: WOW! Let me start off by saying I had to be nit picky to think of any con's and I needed much more space to go through the pro's. The hardware of this phone is about the screen, the processor & RAM and a REAL battery. The screen is vibrant and colors pop. HD movies & video really shine on this phone. It's a multimedia beast. No need to break out your tablet (if you have one) or your laptop on a plane to watch a movie. This is a great size to watch a whole movie on.
Oh I also bought this from Best Buy it was a very smooth process and they gave me 50.00 off from a promotion I signed up for earlier in the year. That made the phone 250.00 and my Iphone 4 16gb was still worth a bit over 200.00. It also has 2gb for internal app space. I have over 60 app's on the phone and it's not close to being full. App junkies have no fears with this phone!
The processor is powerful enough to run anything I've thrown at it with ease and the 1GB of RAM doesn't hurt. The 2500mah battery is the largest I've ever owned in a cell phone and there have been many. As a power user even in my demanding hands this battery will rock out 6 hours of continuous use. With some moderation (very little) this is a 12-15 hour battery!
The stylus is a great feature to have. It's very accurate and I'm still playing with it and learning it. With that said I still love the fact that they included it. It makes the phone a ton more functional and if you choose not to use it, it's neatly tucked away and not intrusive.
I'm coming from an Iphone 4 and I was on Android the first day it debuted to the public. This version of Android (Gingerbread) hasn't frozen or glitched up since I've been using it which is different for me. Of course Samsung has made an impressive piece of hardware for the Android platform.
The camera on this phone is also awesome. 8mp as the main camera, 2mp as the front facing camera they take very good photo's. There is some shutter lag but aftermarket software can help that. It also shoots great video.
The voice navigation also has improved and the native app's are great. I really missed not being able to voice text on IOS. Google maps also is simply outstanding. I could do without the AT&T pre loaded software on this. It's not a ton of it but I wish carriers would stop putting bloatware on phones no matter how minimal.
I am really anticipating Ice Cream Sandwich. I am not rushing Samsung because I don't want to see it released with major flaws but I do want it sooner rather than later. I would also like to see even more programs developed for this phone's screen size and the stylus. Word is millions are being sold so hopefully the developers will work on more platform specific app's.
This phone is very well made with the exception of the back cover. It's a very thin plastic and I'm very cautious when removing it. I am considering getting a second battery but I'm a bit afraid to remove the back cover too frequently.
GREAT JOB SAMSUNG!!

Feel like a superstar!
by dreeemer on March 26, 2012
Pros: Killer display. Pen is silly smooth. Battery almost all day. Almost as zippy fast as in the AT&T commercials!. Strangers compliment, start conversations ALL DAY. Has that "it" factor..!
Cons: Have to relearn one handed "text-walk". Pen could be a little more precise. A little slippery with stock back

Slips in any of my pockets with ease. Very slim, sturdy, feel with solid weight.
I'm used 2 holding upright, texting with Swype on my old Vibrant. Can't wrap my average sized hands around, so it sits in my open fingertips. Not that bad of an adjustment. When sitting ,pen w/Swype on upright keys is INCREDIBLE. Sideways texting is impossible cause of size...
The pen its small. Button is hard to find. Correcting letters in sentences difficult; it always highlights while word. Probably fixed with i.c.s update. (U see the Samsung i.c.s. new pen abilities? Check YouTube. Unbelievable...
Great flash, solid pics. Everything is so buttery smooth & fast! Can't say i like AT&T plan prices 4 LTE, tho. Ouch!
I can only nit pick. You get used 2 the size so fast, other phones seem quaint & childlike in a matter of hours! Suddenly Ferrell bad for grown adults cramming & straining on every other phone. How did i get by with that puny 4.3 inch screen before? -

Yes, it's big. So reading on it, surfing the web,GPS, and photography is a joy.
Google maps on a 5.3 inch screen is a vast improvement over navigating on a iPhone 3.5 inch screen.
I've had no problems handling it or pocketing it.
Much faster than my Samsung Captivate.
LTE is fast.
Battery can make it through a 16 hour day of moderate use (mainly phone calls and texting). -
Best smartphone on the market

Pros: Outstanding screen resolution
Great camera performance
Screen size and form factor
Stylus pen is useful after you learn to use it
Impressive LTE network speeds in New York
Speaker phone is loud and clearCons: Size might put off some people
Android still in need to catch up to iOs quality apps.

Summary: I really can't find much wrong with this phone. I sold my AT&T iPhone 4S to get this beast and I am happy to say that I don't regret my decision. Looking back I can't believe I was happy with my iPhone before. This monster is impressive. I find myself browsing the web more often with this smartphone and it has come to replace everyone of my daily gadgets. Camera rocks day and night and reading books on it is a delight. Videos on this baby looks great and I'm glad that Google Play now has movie rentals. Battery life is enough for a day use (juice defender). AT&T LTE network is super fast, beating even my home wifi performance. Have gotten as high as 51mb download speeds. The stylus pen takes some time to get use to, but helps once you get through its learning curve. Phone call quality is great and speakerphone is loud and clear. Overall you can't go wrong with this phone. Thanks Samsung.
