The good: The Samsung Galaxy Note's 5.3-inch HD screen is ideal for showcasing multimedia. It has 4G LTE, a great 8-megapixel camera, and a souped-up S Pen stylus that brings new ways to interact with your phone.
The bad: The Galaxy Note's S Pen is small, has a delayed response, and requires a little training to use. The phone will be awkwardly large for some, and it doesn't fit easily into pockets.
The bottom line: With its huge screen and throwback stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Note is a polarizing smartphone that winks at tablet territory. Those who like their screens XL will find a top-notch device that lets multimedia shine. The S Pen adds some artistic potential, but for some, the phone will just simply be too big.

A tablet that fits nicely in your hand
by adamsmark on March 12, 2012
Pros: 1. Large screen (if you don't want a large screen, choose another phone)
2. Good battery life even with heavy use
3. S-Pen, or stylus -- totally optional, but very useful
4. Processor runs fastCons: 1. No bottom home button
2. Bottom buttons can be activated quite easily and accidentallySummary: I switched from iPhone to the Galaxy Note, and I've been very satisfied. Truth is, I want a tablet that I can hold in one hand (I can do ...
Summary: I switched from iPhone to the Galaxy Note, and I've been very satisfied. Truth is, I want a tablet that I can hold in one hand (I can do this with the note -- I suppose I have big hands). Now, in one device I've got a Kindle and Nook reader -- not just apps, but a device with a screen comprable to those other readers. Plus, I have a phone, and, no, it's not to large, especially if you use Bluetooth devices to talk (which I do).
I think the Note will go down in history as a game changer. -
It's a blazing fast phone but there're still some probs
by Reversi on March 10, 2012
Pros: -5.3" screen does wonders for any kind of multimedia ie. Youtube, videos and gaming.
-1.5GHz dual core snapdragon S3 processor fast,
-8mp camera capable of 1080p recording and 2mp upfront with 720p.
-Has Gorilla Glass screen.
-LTE Speeds.Cons: -There're still some minor graphics problems with the really dark blacks
-Processor still lacks in comparison to the exynos from the international version.
-not that many roms out yet if you're into that, BUT it was only released recently.Summary: Overall this phone is pretty amazing. Samsung did an amazing job with this, and they're releasing a new Galaxy Note 10.1 in fall I believe. This phone is ...
Summary: Overall this phone is pretty amazing. Samsung did an amazing job with this, and they're releasing a new Galaxy Note 10.1 in fall I believe. This phone is pretty good in terms of sizing, thanks to the slimness of the body it doesn't feel as overwhelming as you'd imagine it to be. It fits nicely in most pockets given that you aren't wearing any skinnies jeans... As mentioned before the plastic back does make me feel uneasy whenever i need to take out the micro SD card. If you were to get this phone I would recommend getting a case or a pouch because the phone will slip out of your hands if you're not careful with it. The weight of this phone isn't too bad either, its a bit heavier then my Galaxy Nexus but it's mostly due to the battery weight.
The processor on this is a Snapdragon S3, it's fast but it still lacks compared to the Exynos that they have in the international version... Although we do get to have LTE speeds available because so far only the snapdragon can handle it unlike the Exynos. -
Great phone but needs more default standardization.

Summary: When deciding on this device I had to go through and wade through a half dozen reviews that spent most of the time making jokes about how big it was. Sadly one of the biggest complaints I read was that you would have to worry about what people will say about you using such a large phone. Why does this matter??? If I wanted to be told what was cool I would buy an iPhone.
The biggest complaint with this phone is that for some reason Samsung feels the need to create their own user interface experience which means removing the stock Gingerbread look and feel. One of the reasons the iPhone is so successful is because it's a very standardized phone. This means that no matter what iteration you pick up you will be able to pick it up and go. Android is a great OS by default... why change it? Why not give users the option to use the default?
All and all I love the device. I think pulling reviews from media sources that sensationalize only the points that will get attention is a bad idea. If you google reviews or even youtube you'll see there are a lot better more real world reviews out there. -
I don't think it big; just perfect size and more power!
by JustinMcNairy on March 8, 2012
Pros: - Large screen
- s-pen, better camera and also front-facing camera,
- most app took advantage of a big screen,
- better resolution,
- dual-core processor.Cons: - Update to ICS 4.0 (It will coming, so I don't mind waiting)
- Nothing at the moment!Summary: - I recommend this phone to anyone who want to play a game that require a high-end device, business, etc.

- Please, don't hate on the phone just because it have a stylus. It is much more different than any other stylus, and plus the S-Pen take advantage of the capacitive touch screen and you don't have to put much pressure just like we did on older phone with pressure-sensitive screen.
- Even if the Note have Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core processor, it still have performance close to Exynos 1.4GHz, so Snapdragon is need if want to use LTE for faster internet connection. -

Worst phone ever, will go back to iphone when 5 is out.
by Sage17 on May 20, 2012
Pros: Display is great, it is NOT to big to use, even with small hands. Camera is good. Glad to be away from synching with itunes.
Cons: Often unresponsive to touch, must be turned off & on to work. ATT shows my usage has gone up x5 in the 3 months I've had it yet I use it far less than my old phone. Real hassle to get to missed calls & msgs ect compared to iphone. Slow & time

Summary: Worst of all, NO battery life. Goes totally dead within a few hours if not used, within a couple if used AT ALL, like just a few minutes tops. It turns itself off. It is virtually useless esp if off charger & gets hot. You have to close out all your apps, but even with task mgr showing none running, shows tons of usage. My ipad I is much faster searching. Email does not always work, sometimes blacks out or vanishes but fine on other devices.
This is my first android phone, loved the size looked forward to it what a dissapointment. Even the operating system like apps & navigation are much tougher than iphone, even after 3 months of playing with it, but maybe that part is me. It does not have the most up to date Samsung operating system but at this point I really do not care. Would NOT reccomend to anyone.
I will send my phone in, & probably get another dud since I will get a used phone if replaced. I will pay full boat for an iphone when the new one is released if neccessary just marking time with this one. I really hope androids improve in the next couple of years because I would love to leave Apple but not for this thing.0 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

nice but not as responsive as i thought
by justinedelrio on February 24, 2012
Pros: big screen and tons of features.
Cons: unresponsive sometimes. The UI is not that smooth especially if you're used to Apple product. Plastic material that makes it looks cheap.
The AMOLED as what they call it looks like looking in a comics book....very saturated colors.Summary: good but no thank you.
Tried using my friend's Galaxy Note and I'm not impress at all.Summary: good but no thank you.

Too big AND too small
by bootsf on February 5, 2012
Pros: Screen
Light weight
ThinCons: Quirky Android 2.3 has a hard time displaying pages. Either too big or too small.
Short battery life, long recharging time.
Oddly placed buttons, while adjusting volume my thumb hits the power button on opposite side.
Too big for pockets.Summary: Too big to use as a phone and too small to use as a tablet. I had the European version and returned it after 4 days. It just wasn't ...
Summary: Too big to use as a phone and too small to use as a tablet. I had the European version and returned it after 4 days. It just wasn't worth the $700 premium price tag!
