The good: The Samsung Galaxy S 4G has 4G connectivity, a front-facing camera for video calls, and a larger battery. Android 2.2 offers impressive data speeds and good call quality. Other highlights include a rich and vibrant Super AMOLED touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.
The bad: No camera flash. The Galaxy S 4G has less internal memory than the Vibrant. There was some slight sluggishness with some tasks.
The bottom line: The Samsung Galaxy S 4G is a fantastic Android smartphone for T-Mobile customers, delivering fast data speeds and other improvements, but Vibrant owners should be fine holding off for now.

Summary: I owned the Samsung Vibrant and enjoyed it, however, I decided to switch to AT&T when my T-Mo contract was up. So I bought the Samsung Infuse from AT&T. It was a beautiful phone with huge screen, however, the AT&T coverage was horrible. Half the time, I had no signal! So I took it back, went back to T-Mo and got the Galaxy S 4G. Have never looked back. I have perfect service, great signal strength, and unlimited data! I love this phone! I love T-Mobile.

Summary: I've had the phone for 3 weeks now and love it. I'm an Apple guy and really wanted an iphone but T-mobile has the best rates so my "frugalness" trumps my desire for Apple products. I also considered cancelling T-mobile and switching to Verizon and getting a free Droid X. I spent about a month researching all my options. Ultimately I decided to stay and bought the Galaxy S 4G for my wife and I. After some initial hiccups since I didn't change out my old sim card (this caused major issues with coverage and function. No clue why they didn't tell me about this), it's been great. This is really a great phone. It's my first smart phone but I've had an ipod touch for a year so I was familiar with the functionality of an iphone/ipod touch screen and apps. I'm not a phone geek so I don't know about froyo or gingerbread or any of that! That being said, this phone is fast. It's a lot faster than my ipod is over Wi-Fi and way faster than my last phone, Samsung Highlight. The 4G (some say it's not really 4g??) is fast.
It's the perfect size. It's got a big screen but it's not too big. I have to squint at times to see a web page on my ipod tough but not on this phone. The screen is really bright and rich. I put a protector on it although it has the supposed scratch resistant gorilla glass. It feels solid especially with the otter box case I got. The call quality is really clear and loud. Speaker is really loud too.
Other Pros:
-Google apps are awesome. Navigation is great. Speak/voice to text and search both work really well.
-Love swype. I have pretty big hands and typing and swyping are both easy.
-Really nice isolating ear buds. I thought these would be a waste and cheap, but they are a really nice bonus. I've had Samsung buds in the past that they were terrible. These are good.
-Easy to use and navigate. Bottom left button (bottom 4 navigation buttons) always directs you where you need to go. The rest of them do too.
-Syncing with Gmail and other social network sites was easy.
-Inception is one of my favorite movies so that's cool too although I own it and havent even watched it yet.
-Syncing iTunes with AirSync took forever over Wi-Fi. I'm assuming it works but I stopped it b/c it took so long. It's a cool app though and comes pre-installed. I plugged the phone in via usb and easily transferred my itunes playlist to the music player.
-Amazon Mp3 app is great as well and you can use that as a music player. I easily synced music there via their cloud player. I know these are app related and not phone related but I thought I'd mention them.
-I havent done video chat yet. It's been awkward to set up and work. I havent needed it so I havent spent a lot of time with it.
Cons:
-Camera. No flash for the camera. I don't understand why this wasn't added since most new phones of this caliber have them. It's not a huge deal but there have been a couple of instances where I needed it. Not a deal breaker for me since I knew this going in. The camera takes pretty nice pictures although I see blue tint to some of the pictures. I read someone else say this in a review. Again, it's not bad and not a deal breaker but I'm not sure why this occurs. Maybe if it had a flash, the colors would be better?? I've used the front facing camera a couple of times and it's a little grainy but does what it needs to do.
-Video is great, but again, is dark due to the lack of a LED light. So if you're outdoors, both cameras work great. Indoors, not as well.
Battery-I think it's ok. It will last the entire day assuming I'm not on twitter, FB, or running other apps constantly. When I get home from work and start getting online or using apps, the battery drains pretty fast. If I'm texting, calling or emailing, it will last the day. Seems like they could develop a longer lasting battery. I've read this about a lot of smart phones so this just seems to be the status quo for battery life. I charge it every night so just know that going in. I bought a car charger too which has come in handy. It also has a task manager app that I keep on my home screen to make sure I don't have tons of things running at once.
Memory-I wish it had more internal. The 16 gig external SD card is great but I would like more internal.
All in all, this is a great phone. I've owed different Samsung phones and TV's and aside from my last phone crapping out (Samsung highlight) I've never had a problem with their products. T-mobile has always been great (going on 11 years). This phone does everything I need and I'm hoping I have it for a long time. Feel confident about getting this phone! -

Summary: This phone shouldn't have been made. what is the use of a front facing camera if you can not use it because the phone say "Memory too low". I had 173 apps on my Samsung vibrant but i only have 20 on this one with almost all installed on the SD card but the memory is all used up.
This phone is 4g but does not depict 4g speed.
If you upgrade your Samsung vibrant to Android 2.2 or Froyo, you get all the features on this phone.
This is a great phone if you are a beginner in the smart phone world and don't really use your phone for a lot of things.
If you are looking to get this phone, i will say wait till the samsung galaxy s II comes out which is hopefully going to have a 16gb / 32gb internal memory.
Do not sign a two year contract with this or even buy it for the mentioned price. -
Not exelent, but good smartphone.
by dgrin1 on April 9, 2011
Pros: 1) Good touch screen.
2) High speed internet.
3) A lot of free apps in Android market. Much more free apps than in Apple store (iTunes).
4) A good volume level for listening audio (mp3) files.Cons: 1) The quality of playing music, mp3 files, sound a little bit lower in this phone than in iPhone or iPod. The volume level isn't bad, but quality of sound must be more clear and better.
2) No long battery life. However, if you use the phone all day - y -
Best Phone I've ever owned
by crafty16 on April 5, 2011

Cons: My one complaint is definitely the battery life. The battery started depleting within minutes of disconnecting from the charger after a full charge cycle. Even sitting overnight without me touching it, the battery had depleted a significant amount. Maybe
