Summary: I have had Blackberry phones for years. I was researching for awhile to decide whether to go w/ the iPhone or an Android phone. Once I had heard about the GS2 coming out in April (the International version). I was hooked. The flexibility of Android and all the Pros above outweighed my view of the iPhone 4 (and 4S since it is the same besides processor and camera). I would highly recommend this phone to anyone, especially HTC users. I think the Touch Wiz interface is much more straight forward and easy to navigate. The Exynos Processor is still one of the faster on the market and will be tough to beat (unless the 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon processor in the new GS2 is faster). Anyone and I mean anyone shopping for a Android phone *MUST* check this phone (or the other variants available on the other carriers) out!!!

Best Android has to offer!!!
by davesedge on November 7, 2011
Pros: Very fast very responsive. Screen is beautiful. Big phone but doesn't seem as big as the other 4.3" phones. A lot of new android features. Thin. weighs almost nothing.
Cons: housing including battery door seem cheap.

Summary: I swapped from Sprint to AT&T after Sprint sold out it's customers for the iPhone. I started with a LG Thrill and took it back same day. 3D is not for me. I went to the iPhone 4. First iPhone experience was a good one. They are nice phones. Nice build and easy to use. Mine stopped getting my gmail to me though so I went back to the store and they said it needed to go back did I want an iPhone 4S as they were out of the 4. I looked at the 4S and decided that it is like 3D and way too full of gimmicks to be considered a real phone. They offered me anything else so I took a shot on this. Initially I wasn't impressed as the plasticks that surround the phone are flimsy and cheap. Then the screen came on and oh my. It is a lot bigger than the iphone 4 and just as pretty. The camera is also on par. That's where the similarities end. I live in an AT&T 4G area and the speeds are insane and destroyed my iPhone with ios5. The battery is slightly less than the iPhone. About an hour to an hour and a half difference with similar use. the new built in media apps are great. The tilt zoom is very handy. The sound on call is great the speaker with music is very good. My final take is that this is one of those phones you'll love that has NO competition. It is more current and built for the fun and busy adult. It made my beloved iPhone feel dated. I was not expecting this from this phone. I'd still recommend the iPhone to anyone interested but if you want the real android experience this is it. I feel it is the best AT&T has right now. In my opinion the iPhone 4 and 3GS are second and then the 4S. I include the 3GS because it is still a great device and with ios5 it is awesome too. Compare the pricing and it is the best free phone on AT&T. It is all prefrence apps vs customization. I will not regret the choice i made and in a year I will probably still have a device that can compete. And that's the point. Stay current and get the best you can when you start and you'll be OK for a year and maybe even two. Review sights like CNET are awesome but dangle that carrot all the time. Get a good one the first time and you won't be as hungry.

Summary: It seems to be a nearly perfect smartphone. No documentation comes with the phone so for a non Android user, learning curve was longer than exepcted. However, for experienced user probably no difficult than changing websites.
After two months, an ex Blackberry user is convinced he made the right choice. I am extremely pleased with the smart phone.
Another problem is the duplication of Google Calendar entries, I am still working on that. Google appears to be the preferred entry to avoid some of the duplication.
If not these two problems, it would have five stars. More aggravating then anything. Miles ahead of Blackberry! So no longer a crackberrry dude!

It works, unlike all my previous apple products.
by Aussie_Digga on October 12, 2011
Pros: Stable platform, you don't need to download an app to make the phone do something, you don't need a computer to own this phone unlike apple, you can download all apps without a computer unlike the apple, you can run flash unlike apple, you can order thing
Cons: Mmmmmmmmmmm
Hard to think here,,,,
Samsung has altered Google Andriod software.... a little.
Viabrates when the phone is charged...
When on silent the phone will still make noise...
Latest update fixed other issues....
That is it.....Summary: I would recomend a Android phone, the HTC and Samsung I have looked at, the build and level is up to the buyer,

You can buy a cheap android, this will work slow and do the job.
OR
you can buy this Samsung Galaxy S2 that is the other end of the scale, this phone is fast, easy to use, and is soooo much better than my Iphone 4 that I now hate apple, I have two iPads that I now can not stand using, they are not as able as this phone,
I must say you can do many more things,
Apple try making FACETIME being good, as it is rubbish.
They dont advertise to people you and the other end HAVE to be at home with WIFI otherwise it will not work.
This Samsung I have made a video call walking the dog in the bush with a video call with a friend on a beach in Asia.
This one when you have had is for a few years to transfer to the new is simple, and your NOT going to HAVE to buy the same brand,1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Love it so far :-)
by the_TT on October 3, 2011
Pros: Fast, slick, light weight. Screen is excellent (but is a cool white, not warm white). Speeds decent for crappy Att. Nice size fits comfortably in the hand.
Cons: "Cool" screen....took the first one back. Cool, meaning slightish blue to whites, not a warm white or yellow white. I can live with it based on the rest of the phone.
Summary: So far, love it. Dual core with decent data speed, apps download and install in a snap. Launching is quick. Internet is nice. Dual core or processor makes a huge ...
Summary: So far, love it. Dual core with decent data speed, apps download and install in a snap. Launching is quick. Internet is nice. Dual core or processor makes a huge difference in everything. Will be real happy with this phone once rooted and bloatware out of it. Real happy.
(speed is no where close to galaxy tab from verizon lte....att isn't anywhere on the same planet speed wise. Been clocking Max speeds of 20 to 40 mbs on Verizon lte, so far with good signal)
Consistent reception seems to be an issue with all the networks if u don't live in a major metropolitan area.
Overall. GREAT PHONE. Can't wait for the lte quad cores....lol1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.
