The good: The Samsung Galaxy S II boasts a beautiful display and a thin design. With a dual-core processor, the Gingerbread device delivers fast performance, as well as good battery life. Camera quality is excellent.
The bad: Some parts of the phone feel flimsy.
The bottom line: With its dual-core processor, vibrant display, and great performance, the sleek and powerful Samsung Galaxy S II rises as AT&T's top Android smartphone.

Smart Device, terrible phone.
by Jen_ski on January 20, 2013
Pros: Great with web surfing, social networking, calender and account syncing.
Cons: I do not recommend this phone at all. The phone misses calls and gets most my texts delayed. I usually have to call someone so my phone will receive all my texts for that day. It is infuriating and I hate this phone, since it doesn't work as a phone.

Summary: I've had this phone replaced 3 times and every time I have the same problem of getting my text messages delayed, even when I have full service. Sometime when I have full service it just won't call people. On multiple occasions I have had full service and people have called and it doesn't even ring or show up and then I just get their voicemail. More then once I have called my phone while it was in my hand with full service from another phone and while the other phone was ringing, my galaxy didn't even show a missed call. To get my texts a lot of the time I have to text someone or call someone and then will all come in at once. I have lost lots of work opportunities from this phone dis-functioning. The evil brilliance of this phone has lost me money so that I can't afford to buy a new smart phone to replace it until my upgrade. I would not recommend this phone to any one, when I have had the same infuriating problem with 3 phones!

Battery is complete garbage.
by Singing_Bears on May 22, 2012
Pros: Fast, lightweight, good screen size, nifty gizmos and whatnots on the phone. Decent UI.
Cons: The battery couldn't hold a charge if you plugged it straight into a nuclear reactor. It completely negates anything good about the phone.
Summary: This phone was my android experiment. I'll be going back to iOS now, because of this phone and its terrible, terrible battery. Good job, Samsung.

Great phone if you don't mind disappearing apps & icons
by somerma on April 23, 2012
Pros: I love the big, bright screen. I bought this after having an iPhone 3G. I loved this phone for the first couple of months. It's fast; has great sound; the size and weight are great.
Cons: Icons disappear and must reboot to get them to return - sometimes.
Summary: My icons on my homepage disappeared after two months. If I turned the phone off and on again they returned. Until February. They wouldn't come back. I took it ...
Summary: My icons on my homepage disappeared after two months. If I turned the phone off and on again they returned. Until February. They wouldn't come back. I took it to ATT; pulled the battery. That was good for a couple of days; they disappeared again. I took it to the repair shop. They had NEVER heard of this problem. (They should check the internet.) They did a hardware reset and said I should be good. That worked for two days. I took it back. I was given a new Galaxy S II. That was at the end of Feb. They have disappeared twice in the last week. I'm very disappointed with this. I've been told ' never heard of this; pull the battery; remove the buddy widgets; must be some app causing it; too many apps running and it's overheating. I'm going back today to ATT; I want a different phone. Makes me sad. I really like this phone.

BAD battery life after updates......
by oldpolishguy on January 24, 2012

Summary: When I first purchased the phone it was GREAT as described. However, after "updating" to 2.3.6, the phone would not go beyond 8 hours on a full charge, essentially making the phone somewhat unreliable/useless. After the usual haggling with Sammy and ATT, I just opted for a new phone with the original OS. What is funny is both a) initially refused to accept problem based upon update and b) couldn't offer solution other than new phone.

Great phone! Too bad AT&T flubbed it on their website.
by doncannon on October 3, 2011
Pros: Great 4G phone by Samsung! Powerful and quick. Fantastic display!
Cons: None for the phone. Con is for AT&T in that it is spending so much time on the new iPhone 5, that as of Monday 2:15pm, AT&T still has a "3G" logo for the Samsung Galaxy 2 on it's smartphone page instead of the "4G" that the phone clearly is.

Tmobile's GS2 should be a Top5, NOT ATT's
by Flyguy29 on November 22, 2011
Pros: Great screen, good speed, excellent browser. Thin is in. Nit as much frame as the oversize Razr, and a solid camera
Cons: No zoom focus on Camera, on America's absolute worst network, and the ABSOLUTE worst audio quality from the headphone/mic jack, making music and mic quality horrendous (see Anandtech's breakdown of old Yamaha audio components used here)
Summary: putting the ATT variant as a "top 5" demonstrates Cha's favortism to ATT. Why isn't the TMobile variant tested as the best variant of the GS2? The #2 ...

The #2 network in call quality and data speeds should make the near replicate phone.have better performance than ATT's, no? Do CNET's reviews include other carriers?. If the reviews are just on the handset, then the review should reflect the Samsung Galaxy S2 and not single out just the ATT version. A review andcomparison of all of he Galaxy S2 versions on all carriers should have been evaluated and not just the ATT version.NOT resposible consumer reporting in my opinion.

Can't sync to exchange
by benmw22 on October 18, 2011
Pros: screen, battery, blah blah blah
Cons: The phone does not yet have the ability to sync with some microsoft exchange servers and when i called tech support (at Samsung) I was told that they "are currently conducting an investigation and will let me know when they are finished". That doesn't rea

Good to great phone, decent call quality, great screen.
by CrimsonHail on February 26, 2012
Pros: Bright/clear screen, great dual-core performance, not heavy, thin.
Cons: Maybe not fair to compare it to an actual digital camera but photo quality is not great but probably normal for a phone. Battery life could be better but seems to have improved with time, from 1-2 days to 2-3 days.
Summary: Highly recommended and even more so now since it seems that it will received Android 4.0!

Simply amazing.
by jomeyertons on December 9, 2011
Pros: I'm no novice to smart phones, and this is the best one I've ever owned. It's fast, brilliant, thin, light, has good memory, voice calls are clear, and on Credo it's inexpensive to own for what you get.
Cons: This is both a pro and a con: It's got a big screen, which is great for viewing but bad for pocket space. My former phone had a slider keyboard that I really loved (Samsung Galaxy 1), so I'll miss that.
Summary: This phone beats out all the others. If it had a slider keyboard it would be perfect.
