Summary: I've only had the phone for a few days and I've not found the phone to be flimsy at all. The phone, to me, totally blows away my old 3GS and the 4GS (once I get IRIS and some other software loaded). I rooted the phone yesterday, which will allow me to add a more programs and widgets. Also, I was waiting for the 5.3" screen Galaxy Note (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/android/GT-N7000ZBAXEU?gnb=y), but it wasn't going to show up in the US until the 2nd Quarter probably. Therefore, I decided I needed to dump my 3GS and get the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, with has LTE added. Both my Daughter and I have one now and love it !!!

Made the big switch from iphone...

Summary: I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and I think it's amazing. The Android marketplace is easy to use and the available apps are equal to, if not better, than iphone's. It took a little getting used to a different operating system, but if you have an ounce of tech savy, you'll be able to navigate this phone without issue. Call quality seems to be just as good as my old iphone and I'd even go so far as to say that I've had fewer dropped calls. I have noticed that the way you hold the phone can interfere with reception a bit...keep away from the aluminum protective cases.
I've had an iphone since they first came out and wasn't all that impressed by the 4S. After reading countless reviews and tech specs, I decided the Galaxy S II was the best phone available. Nothing has proved me wrong so far.0 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Apparently these people are either a women who are not tech-savvy or elderly who pushes the power button when instructed to "shut down the machine properly" When you root your android device it's performance and features are night and day, something you can never dream of as iPhone users(owned 3GS, iPhone 4 previously)0 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

One powerful phone - while it's running
by FuManShoes on September 30, 2011
Pros: Super fast and feature-packed

Summary: I've been using a virgin Galaxy II S on AT&T for a couple weeks. It's fast and crisp and loaded with features. My main complaint is the battery life, which seems quite short, and the build quality, which seems lacking in some areas. The screen is incredible and the camera takes great shots, though it's annoying that the music player cuts out when you activate the camera. The keypad is a little cramped and seems inaccurate, but that could be more due to Gingerbread than the phone. WiFi tethering works great, but phone reception has been spotty at best, with dropped calls happening even more often than with my iPhone 4. But overall, if you're getting an Android phone, this is one to consider.

overrated. I was fooled by all the positive reviews.
by tantanL on October 17, 2011
Pros: beautiful screen, faster processor, powerful camera
Cons: battery power is horrible. Too big, I dropped it many times texting one handed and I never had that problem on my iphone 3gs. Compared to iphone OS, android OS is very "messy" and takes more steps to get to things than iphone OS. And 4 buttons on droid

Summary: Because Apple didn't come out with iphone 5, I was very disappointed with Apple and decided to switch to android platform and get the "most powerful smartphone on the planet Samsung Galaxy S2" given all the great reviews. I can only think of 4 positive things about the galaxy s2/android: 1. The screen truly is beautiful (since samsung do make the best TVs, it's no surprise here), it's like a mini tablet. 2. Internet is super fast. 3. Free music on android system is nice! 4.Great camera and flash power. Other than that, the battery is horrible I charge about 3 times in 2 days on average of normal use (text, FB, 1 call a day, occasional internet; no movies, no videos, no wifi, dimmed screen, always checked my task manager). Battery was so poor that I get excited every time I see an electrical outlet! Also, the phone is too big. It's like mini tablet computer. It's hard to type accurately one handed without messing up the text or dropping the phone. And honestly, my old iphone 3GS felt more "well made" than this plastic-like phone. After 2 weeks, I returned the samsung and ordered an iphone4S. Now I truly understand why people stand behind apple product- you get consistent quality even though you will sacrifice some freedom...but I think it's worth it. Basically, for those who have iphones and want to switch to droid/galaxy S2- don't do it. You will miss the simplicity of iphone and how user friendly it is. I feel like android is geared more towards tech savvy people. But for an average user, iphone is way better trust me on this one. Overall, very disappointed with galaxy S2
