Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket - black (AT&T) price range: $254.75
- Reviewed by: Nicole Lee
- Reviewed on: 11/09/2011
The good: The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket has a beautiful 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display along with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an NFC chip, and support for AT&T's LTE network. It ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and has an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The bad: AT&T's LTE network is only available in a few cities at the time of the Skyrocket's launch, it has a somewhat cheap, plastic feel, and you can't remove bloatware.
The bottom line: If you live in an area that gets AT&T's LTE network, we highly recommend the powerful and beautiful Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

Love, love, love it!
by ilovelucy002 on February 2, 2012
Pros: No more freezing up while surfing web or Facebooking thanks to the dual core processor. Great call quality and no dropped calls. It is very user friendly and the battery life is much better than my previous smart phone. Love this phone!
Cons: None noted at this time.
Summary: It is possible to have a phone that doesn't drop calls, is fun to play with, and a great business tool! i who?

Summary: I jumped ship from using the iphone for an android experience and i must say, its been nothing but refreshing. I've tried other devices that just felt like they were mlies behind the iphone however, since day 1, the S2 has simply blown me away with its prowess. As stated in my headlinalternativee its quite frankly a PC that makes phonecalls. (and well at that). From its dazzling screen to its blazing OS, I've yet to experience a smartphone that does what its supposed to do so well. If you're an iphone user looking for alternative or if you're simply looking for the best that smartphones have to offer, this is your aanswer.

Summary: My girlfriend and I both had Iphones. When I told her I wanted the skyrocket over a new Iphone, she was shocked. She is waiting for the Iphone 5. I picked the skyrocket up and preceeded to fly to space. I love this phone. It did take me 2 days to make it the way I wanted. I dropped down to 3 homescreens. Put all my apps in folders so when I hit application I only have one screen. This phone does things fast. This is my first android phone. I dont even care about Ice cream sandwich. I love what is has and what it has it does very well. All the apps I used on my Iphone work on android and with other Iphone users. I havent had to pay for any app's all the ones I would use are free. I put all my music on my SD card 20gigs worth and it did lag at first. Shut the phone off and turned it back on solved this porblem. All album art was on the screen. I can bluetooth my radio in my car with audio and phone calls. No extra cable needed. Once I learned how to set it up everything became easy.

Incredible features
by luismartinmontero on January 20, 2012
Pros: Easy navigation and integration of email and other accounts.
Cons: Confusing settings screens. 4G LTE from ATT not that impressive in Atlanta feels like just 4G to me.
Summary: Great phone with great features but not sure that AT&T LTE adds much to 4G.

Samsung did it! This tops the IP4S and that is no joke.
by dexman34 on January 8, 2012
Pros: Super fast speed, beautiful 4.5 inch screen, just a great phone overall.
Cons: Battery life is not the best but that's about all I can find that could be improved with the phone.

Summary: This is an awesome phone. ATT's 4GLTE is super, super fast and the picture quality is flawless. My wife has the IP 4S and she has played around with my Galaxy SII Skyrocket and she loves it....maybe a little more than I do since it's hard to get it back from her. I would highly recommend anyone looking into getting a smart phone with 4G LTE capability to look no further than this one.

Summary: This is the best smarthphone available in the market at the current moment, by anybody's ranking. The 4.5 inch screen display is icing on the cake especially with the AMOLED display this phone features. Battery life is great for the amount of things you can do with it too, even though it features a powerful 1.5 Ghz dual core processor. Overall, there is not a single application available that can bog this phone down, it's almost like a mini netbook you can carry in your pocket!

Blazing speed in nice package.
by kallen3103 on December 30, 2011
Pros: As I said blazing speed! It also has the USB mini for file, program transfer. Added a 32GB micro-card and they have dropped to about $1 a GB so from Amazon at about $200 I got a phone that about functions as well as my laptop- a wee bit of tinkering.
Cons: The plastic to me is not an issue. I sold rapid prototyping machines and I know the strength and durability of today's plastics. The only con is battery life. If ya drive a Turbo it eats more gas. I just bought several $3 micro USB chargers.
Summary: The longer I have this phone the more I love it. I've had iPhones 3&4, several HTC phones branded as ATT, I.e. the Tilt. This phone ...
Summary: The longer I have this phone the more I love it. I've had iPhones 3&4, several HTC phones branded as ATT, I.e. the Tilt. This phone is so far beyond those they are like comparing calculaters to a quad-core SSI drive laptop running a 7.6 Windows Index, which I have. The screen is stunning, the buttons are in the right places. I wouldn't take an iPhone 4s and $500 to trade.

BY FAR the best phone I've ever owned!
by HDAddict on December 30, 2011
Pros: Fast, huge display, light weight, Android, great Samsung Quality ... and did I mention FAST? I'm getting BLAZING 4G LTE (17,927kbps 12/20/11) and even faster speeds on my home WiFi.
Cons: ? I haven't found any yet and I've had the phone since 12/7/11. If I have to list anything, it's that it is HUGE and doesn't work well in my pocket - but I really like HUGE and don't mind the bulky pocket.
Summary: If the AT&T LTE network is available, then I would say this is a MUST have phone. Huge Screen, full Android Market, BLAZING fast speeds, sound quality is ...
Summary: If the AT&T LTE network is available, then I would say this is a MUST have phone. Huge Screen, full Android Market, BLAZING fast speeds, sound quality is very good (though it's not a home stereo system) but music, internet videos, and phone calls all sound excellent and do the job I ask of them. A GREAT improvement over the Galaxy S, that is for sure! Rock on Samsung!

Summary: This is such an awesome phone!!! I'm thirteen and this is my first Android and I know that I will always stick to Samsung phones. This phone is my new best friend!! The only problem I have with it is that I can't figure out how to change the four bottom buttons that stay on all of my home and app pages. And no, I'm not talking about the very bottom ones. I'm talking about the phone, email, web, and application buttons on the touch screen. But, that's not a big problem, so I'm still in love with this amazing little dude :)
