Samsung Galaxy S III - 16GB - pebble blue (Verizon Wireless) price range: $99.99

The good: The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right.
The bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed us.
The bottom line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X.

4.8" HD Super AMOLED Display
Sleek Design

Summary: Overall this phone is very solid. I came from the Droid Razr M which replaced my HTC Thunderbolt. After 2 months decided to sell it and get the Galaxy S3 and so far have not looked back.
Jelly Bean was released today 12/14/12 and improved almost everything. The phone has pretty much zero lag now (thanks to "project butter", extra filters for the camera, Google Now, improved S Voice, and much more.
Design: 4/5
The design of the phone is stunning. Samsung was able to pack a large beautiful screen into a compact, ultra thin device. I'm a guy that wears fitted jeans and this phone has no problem slipping in and out of my jeans, nor do i even notice it is really there thanks to the thin profile. The phone has a nice glossy look to it (i have the pebble blue GS3). For some, the hard button at the bottom of the phone is a hit or miss for people. Personally i like it considering it has multiple functions. The phone however does have somewhat of a plastic feel to it, and without a case, the back cover can scratch easily. Overall this phone has a very solid and durable feel even with the plastic build, and with the rounded smooth edges, this phone is very comfortable to hold even with its size.
Features:5/5
Like everyone else says, this phone is a feature filled phone. With NFC, S beam, motion gestures, pop-up play, and the many other customizable features that come along with android, this phone is one of the best when it comes to what you can do with your phone. And although many have been hating on the S Voice function, it is still pretty handy and usually does what i need it to do... Well... Most of the time. I'm not saying it doesn't need improvements because compared to Siri, it definitely does. And once Verizon finally approves of their GS3 Jelly Bean update, Google Now will only make it better.
Performance: 4/5
With its blazing fast 1.5ghz dual core qualcomm snapdragon S4 processor, generous 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable memory for additional 62GB), lightning fast 4G LTE, 8mp camera, 1080p HD Video Recording, Massive 4.8" HD Super AMOLED Display, this phone talks the talk, and walks the walk. This phone seems to make multitasking a breeze, entertainment a blast, and capturing photos for those kodak moments seamless. Although Samsung has tuned its UI down, i feel like they could tune it down a little further. This phone is extremely fast, but i did face some hiccups every now and then with Touchwiz. And with a lack of the Jelly Bean update, i can't help but feel like Verizons version of the GS3 is being held back on its full capabilities.
Overall:4.5/5
This phone is a well crafted, feature packed, blazing fast phone. Phones like the Galaxy S3 are what defines this day and ages smartphones as our generations mobile computers.

Definitely worth getting and switching from the iPhone.
by cjpadilla85 on December 2, 2012
Pros: Feel, Speed, Feature, Customization,Build, app support to do many different things with the phones and allows you to customize the phone to your liking and needs.
Cons: A bit big if you purchase a super protective case (otterbox), Original keyboard takes a bit of getting used to if you are coming from an iphone.
Summary: The fit and finish of the phone is amazing. If you have small hands I would not get a big case for this phone. Yeah the plastic feel and finish ...
Summary: The fit and finish of the phone is amazing. If you have small hands I would not get a big case for this phone. Yeah the plastic feel and finish feels a bit weird and cheap at first but the phone is definitely top notch. The build of the phone feels like it will break if dropped. I put a screen protector as I'm not about to test the Gorilla glass from scratches.
Not sure about the battery, but I've always had to recharge by the end of the night. But then again I'm always on my phone. So I won't get too far in to this. The battery is removal, which is great. I saw that one of the reviewers are complaining about the cover was hard to remove, but I haven't had any problems with it you just need to be patient.
The screen is amazingly bright in a room. Though once it hits the sun it is a bit questionable. When you're outside the phone gets a bit dark so you have to put the brightness up to 100% as soon as you decide to use the phone in sunlight.
The phone is amazingly fast and I've been able to run multiple apps with no problems. Some apps do crash but that happens. The widget and pages are a big step up coming from an iPhone. I also love the fact that you are able to watch a video while multi-tasking. which helps out a lot if you want to read a text or look at an email and not want to restart the video application.
Also I've had better luck with the S Voice understanding me than I've had with Siri. -

Summary: With many free apps, games, and more, the Samsung Galaxy SIII is not only an amazing consumer driven phone, but is also a work horse. It has a great processor and moderate battery life. I enjoy using it as a daily media phone, but when I need to make calls or do some work, it is more than sufficient.

"No SIM" error makes this phone defective!
by tommytoday on August 14, 2012
Pros: Great device, but Verizon's version is defective.
Cons: "No SIM" error and dropped calls in places with marginal 4G! There are many threads about this on the internet. Verizon is ignoring the problem and won't give anyone the same answer.
Summary: What good is a phone if it doesn't work as a phone? Do not buy this phone from Verizon!

Summary: I've had a lot of phones just this year across various carriers and I can say that the GS3 is the top phone in the market, by far! It's not too big as you would think being the screen is a hair from 5', the battery lasts longer than I anticipated as it lasts a full day with a few tweeks. This phone is filled with a lot of "regular people" features that's considered stock. The phone features let's you block not only phone calls, but messages as well. If you're looking for an all around answer for a smartphone that gives you a lot of screen space ,I highly recommend this GS3!

Android ICS, Jelly Bean in October
No proprietary USB!
Micro SD - I got 64gb
Outstanding Camera
Excellent power-saving features
Samsung's Touch-Wiz is actually kind of niceCons: Removing the back cover to access the SD card is a little awkward, but not a deal breaker
Horrible Verizon apps, but can be ignored
Samsung's apps are not as good as market options

Summary: I replaced my original Google Nexus One with this device, and obviously was blown away by the difference. I also have an iPad 3 and the iPhone 5 (I'm a developer) and my SG3 easily tops them both as well.
If you take a lot of pictures with a real digital camera, like I do, and want to share them on the go the SG3 has one thing your iPhone can't dream of: A MICRO SD CARD! I love taking pictures no cell phone can match, popping my SD card from camera to Samsung phone and immediately sharing them. This is a big reason I really can't justify an iPhone.
The iPhone's biggest failing by comparison is iOS 6, which is still soooo 2007 in terms of features. Also, I just don't like how 'boxy' iPhones are now. They're uncomfortable compared to the SG3's sleek form factor.
The iPad, it was always just too damn big. Again, uncomfortable. My SG3, despite being in another class, is way more portable and fun. I also have a Google Nexus 7, and I enjoy it as well. That's off-topic though of course.
End-of-story: The SG3 was definitely the right pick for me!0 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Verizon doesn't care about their customers
by jfoulk1981 on July 17, 2012
Pros: Nice phone but....
Cons: Verizon violated the spirit of open sourced software by locking the bootloader. What does that mean? All of the fun things you want to do with your phone, like CM10, you cannot do with Verizon's GSIII.
Summary: Nobody should buy Verizon's model. Hit verizon's pocketbook to show them they cannot hold their customers hostage.
