The good: The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE/HSPA+ 42 capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right.
The bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed.
The bottom line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X.

Battery life kills any usefulness.
by Deathbringer on August 14, 2012
Pros: Thin, light, amazingly fast, awesome screen.
Cons: BATTERY LIFE.I did everything I could to minimize how much battery was being used. Starting with 100% battery 15 minutes of surfing will have you at 85% battery. You cant leave review of this phone of ATT website for obvious reason.
Summary: Battery life completely kills this phone. If battery life was on par with other available phones dating back 3 years ago this would be the phone to have. As it ...
Summary: Battery life completely kills this phone. If battery life was on par with other available phones dating back 3 years ago this would be the phone to have. As it is, its not worth a cent. Samsung does not acknowledge this issue and ATT will not let you leave a review of the phone in obvious fear their site would be flooded with angry customers.

This phone was terrible!
by LoserUser3 on September 28, 2012
Pros: Plenty of bells and whistles
Nice size
Fun to useCons: AWFUL reception. Dropped nearly every call that I made. Beware! It might be the "Next Big Thing" but its not much of an actual phone. I am a us cellular customer.
Summary: Went to the motorola electrify and its fantastic!! Us Cellular didn't even put up a fight, I traded the first phone in thinking maybe I had a lemon. The ...
Summary: Went to the motorola electrify and its fantastic!! Us Cellular didn't even put up a fight, I traded the first phone in thinking maybe I had a lemon. The second phone didn't work either, so they took it and gave me an actual phone because they new it was a problem!

Summary: I purchased T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 on 8/30/12 for a full price - $650. Phone was working properly for the first day, the second day, proximity sensor stopped working and the screen was on during the call, so I was hitting other buttons by accident. Finally, when the screen went out, it never came back on, when I removed the phone from my ear and tried to push any number. I went back to store and they did replace the phone - no question asked. The second phone was working fine the first day, the second day, the phone started shutting down on its own. It vibrating very quick and shut down, approx 5 times a day. I was unable to turn it back on, so I had to remove the battery and put it back. So I decided, the phone is not worth of my money. I currently own Samsung Galaxy S2 and I am very happy with it. I just thought, this may be a better phone, but the opposite is the truth. It also had much worse reception in same area, where I live and work. My Galaxy S 2 always gets full bars on reception, Galaxy S 3 was getting only 1-2 bars only.

Summary: When listening to tracks in Play Music app, I'm unable to change the song using earphone controls or using volume button. I have to unlock the screen and open the app to change the song. This becomes difficult when i'm driving. I feel, the music app needs to be improved or I have to find any other music player which does this function with which I can change the track using earphone controls.

WIFI sucks, overheats, screen fades out in sunlight
by nessp on August 4, 2012
Pros: Big screen
Cons: WIFI sucks, overheats, dim screen, Start up from shut down state takes 30 seconds. Solutions offered by tech support were basic and didn't help. Samsung knows there are problems with WIFI reception and over heating but aren't addressing them.
Summary: Shoulda waited for the IPhone 5

Awesome phone.
by pm86 on June 25, 2012
Pros: Camera, camera, camera. Also no apps needed for pano shots.
Android 4.
Dual core.
Screen.
Many more.Cons: Slippery.
Can not play N.O.V.A game.
S3 music player does not appear on lock screen. I have to turn on the lock screen and pull down the notification bar to be able to pause/play/skip.Summary: Had the phone for 5 days so far. Summary: Had the phone for 5 days so far. I have the glossy white, the display is awesome and the glass cleans easily, finger/face prints do not stick for long, every time i take the S3 out of my pocket the screen is clean and smooth as ever. But having a super smooth screen and a glossy backplate makes the phone very slippery in my hands. The screen is big (which i love) but the phone tends to want to slip out of my hand when reaching with my thumb for top left of the screen (i'm right handed). Big but its thin so it feels good in my hands (that's what she said, jk).
I now have poweramp which has an option for lock screen. And after N.O.V.A the game now works on the S3.
Camera, even when not in burst shot mode is super fast.
Can play almost any video file, so far all the movies i downloaded from utorrent plays on the s3.
Can't play N.O.V.A game and other games by the same game developer on the S3. Pop up saying game is not compatible with this device... which sucks.2

And this phone is very easy to root btw.
Updated on Sep 29, 2012Several months now since i've had the S3 (Sprint).
Several apps when I first got the S3 did not work with the S3 due to compability issues, all of which have been updated and now work.
I was annoyed with the camera shutter sound, no option to turn the sound off (even if u vibrate/silence/airplane mode it still has the shutter sound). Luckly my phone is rooted so i was able to turn it off my relocating the shutter sound file.
If you live in Orlando it sucks that there is no 4glte :(
Amazed at the camera and also how much light the camera picks up on "Night mode".
Amazed at batter life.
Amazed at how fast it processes.
Keep hearing "Let me see your phone."5 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.

Buggy email/problems sending email
by amyeholmes on July 25, 2012
Pros: Everything (almost-- see cons). Ease of use for someone who isn't an expert user. The phone feels great in my hand. Battery life is excellent. Camera takes great photos. Everything runs quickly and the screen is beautiful.
Cons: The big con: my email worked fine for about a week but then started "sending" emails without the messages arriving at their destination. I since have deleted my accounts several times, reset the phone, recreated the account, to no avail.
Summary: Great phone, bad email. Am returning this phone.

A very low quality and unreliable phone
by Sam_Yemen on October 16, 2012
Pros: The specs are great. And it is great when you buy it. But only for 2-3 weeks before it breaks down
Cons: It is an unreliable phone. I used the S3 for 3 weeks when it updated its company firmware and corrupted the phone serial number and they couldn't fix it. The complaints of the S3 are unlimited. I suggest you also check amazon reviews
Summary: Because of my experience with the S3 I will never buy a Samsung product in my life

Better off sticking with the HTC One X or iPhone 5.
by Le_Jugement on September 19, 2012
Pros: -Large screen
-Decent camera
-Good customizationCons: -The OS was buggy. Almost all of the time when I tried to launch an app, it broke down and crashed on me.
-The screen, while big, isn't that great. Pentile with oversatured colors.
-Camera wasn't that great.
-Made of plastic
-Bad audio qualitySummary: This phone does it all! Except not really.

After finally freeing myself from my locked down cage of my iPhone, I decided to give Android a try with supposedly one of the 'best' android phones on the market.
It was awful.
While the customization was amazing, everything else was awful. You're trading reliability for the ability to customize a homescreen. Thats not enough.
The OS is simply too buggy.
The camera takes bad pictures and has a bad white balance.
The audio quality when recording sounds lile someone held something over the microphone and rubbed it against it the entire time.
The screen makes colors feel oversaturated and whites really aren't that good.
The plastic feel made a $200 phone feel like a bad featurephone.
It was awfully big to hold in the hand and reaching to opposite sides of the screen when holding it with one hand was bad.
Their isn't much of an ecosystem to be a part of like there is with the iPhone.
Touchwiz is a rather boring UI as compared with HTC Sense.
Battery life is next to mediocre.
Wait for the Lumia 920, buy a One X, or get ourself an iPhone. Just don't look here.6 out of 12 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great features, but way too big
by sdclams on July 20, 2012
Pros: OS, blazing fast hw, great style and looks. Camera is strong.
Cons: WAY TOO BIG FOR AN EVERYDAY PHONE! I tried carrying this around during a hot week in Boston with shorts on. The phone barely fit in any pocket, and was uncomfortably large when it did fit. TOO BIG!!!!
Summary: Simple summary. Great little tablet, but just too big to be my everyday phone. This is not Samsung's fault, it seems like the direction smartphones are taking is bigger ...
Summary: Simple summary. Great little tablet, but just too big to be my everyday phone. This is not Samsung's fault, it seems like the direction smartphones are taking is bigger and bigger. Just makes no sense from a user standpoint. Its a shame, because the phone is truly gorgeous and very well made.
