The good: The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE/HSPA+ 42 capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right.
The bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed.
The bottom line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X.

It's like having endless connection to the world
by Mandoz_Yan on November 26, 2012
Pros: 1- It's got limitless options and applications, so it's really awesome. On the other hand, it takes time to get to know everything.
2- The camera is very qualitative.
3- Watching videos is my new hobby- TED, YouTube, it works great with all of them.Cons: 1- Its enormous size. I thought I would suffer from that but it really took me no time to get used to it.
2- It's response time on the touch screen is a bit slow sometime, hope that it will be ok.Summary: I'm crazy about this phone, it's so much better than my blackberry, there's absolutely no way to compare these two, it's two separate worlds. I really ...
Summary: I'm crazy about this phone, it's so much better than my blackberry, there's absolutely no way to compare these two, it's two separate worlds. I really recommend it! It's nicer to use this than iPhone, because everything is already set up for you, which kinda sucks.

Summary: I have the quad core UNLOCKED international version and i am from Canada, and all i can say is that this phone is a beast. Im 18, and im quite tech savvy this phone is the best for me, beautiful screen. and incredible speed. I updated my phone to jelly bean and there is nothing quite like it. This phone is much better than the iPhone if you are considering it its up to you, ios is for young kids or old people. way too boring and easy to use. android on the other hand is very complex and lots of more useful features. also you can get any app you want for free without jailbreaking (or rooting) just go to Google search and type the application name then (.apk) for example angrybirds.apk or swiftkey3.apk. download it right from the site and its on your phone.
i hope you get the GS3 its a frikin powerhouse
BATTERY SAVING HINT:
HAVE A BLACK WALLPAPER. OLED SCREENS DONT LIGHT UP BLACK PIXELS. SO IF YOUR WALLPAPER IS BLACK, U DONT EVEN LIGHT UP THAT PART OF THE SCREEN. IT STAYS COMPLETELY OFF. BUT IT MUST BE BLACK, NOT GREY OR DARK GREY. 100% BLACK. -

The best Android smartphone ever!
by IntelligentSmartphoneUser on September 20, 2012
Pros: Comes loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, packed to the brim with features, a beautiful design, wonderful screen and a removable battery (something most new smartphones lack nowadays.)
Cons: S Voice is somewhat disappointing, fragmented release dates for Android OS updates, can get pretty laggy when your home screen is filled with widgets, may get extremely warm with extreme use, but not hot and okay battery life.

Summary: The Galaxy S III is an amazing phone, and I'm not lying here. It's packed to the brim with features, comes loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and it's Super AMOLED HD display is simply stunning.
Well, I got my own Galaxy S III in white and let me tell ya, this phone is a performance and feature freak! It's speedy and it's packed to the brim with everything you'd want in a smartphone.
However, the usual issues with Android handsets still exists. Software updates have fragmented release dates, it can become extremely laggy if your home screen is widget-happy and S Voice is somewhat disappointing. The phone may heat up on extreme use, but I can confirm that it will NOT overheat under normal-extreme use. (My Galaxy S II frequently shut itself off to protect itself from overheating)
So, in conclusion, I will recommend this phone to any smartphone user. Any former Android user will want to get hooked on this phone and if you're an iPhone user migrating to Android, give this phone a shot.

Oh, and the recent update to Jelly Bean? Makes it even faster, even more responsive and adds more features to this already-amazing phone!
9.5/10 and a recommendation. -

Huge phone fits tiny hands well
by JewelyaZ on September 18, 2012
Pros: feels great in the hand, big bright screen, good touch/slide keyboard, fast and responsive, seems stable, SD card, speakerphone is loud and clear
Cons: plastic case not as nice as any HTC device that I've owned, Gorilla 2 glass CAN be scratched, controls are in odd places if you are used to HTC, weird software glitch sometimes causes screen to fade to black as you move to press numbers on the keypad

Summary: I have tiny hands and have found many devices to be too big for my grip. I love physical QWERTY keyboards and have owned Motorola and HTC slide devices. The Samsung is HUGE and should be hard to hold, but I find that it's easy enough and to my surprise, the finger-slide keyboard is pretty good at guessing my words and I am actually NOT annoyed with it most of the time.
The speakerphone is loud and brilliant (my last HTC's was uselessly quiet), the battery life is reasonable and there are apps that optimize battery usage, and playing games or watching YouTube videos is just a delight. The case feels cheap compared to the solidity of all the HTC devices I've owned, but it doesn't feel like it's going to immediately break either and I've dropped it without disaster (once).
The photos and videos from the camera are outstanding and I have stopped carrying the "real" camera -- the device HAS a real camera, and I love being able to share the photos with a TV or another person carrying an NFC device. I like the burst-photo mode; it totally solves the problem of catching that elusive baby smile, the soap-bubble as it pops, or grabbing a shot mid-stride of your dog, a horse, or a runner.
We paid $179 + $18 activation at Costco (T-mobile, 32 GB edition), and they also have by far the best insurance through SquareTrade ($100 for 2 years; $25 deductible, everything covered except willful damage or theft, will replace the device FOUR times over the life of the policy). The comparable Asurion plan is $7.99/mo for 24 months with a $130 deductible and the ability to get a full replacement only ONCE. Not great coverage if you KNOW you're hard on things like I am. The Costco reps are on commission but since they also get paid minimum wage, they are not really pushy. Our rep took time to carefully explain the old and new coverage plans we'd be on, and the new one saves us $16/mo across all three lines for essentially the same service, so I can't complain at all.
I think I will actually REMAIN happy with the Galaxy S3 long enough to be glad to have that awesome warranty.
