- The Samsung Nexus S 4G offers a great combination of design, features, and performance. The 4G connection could be more reliable, but the Gingerbread OS, stock Android UI, and admirable call quality make for a satisfying smartphone.

Samsung Nexus S 4G (Sprint) price range: $99.99 - $399.99

The good: The Samsung Nexus S 4G offers a brilliant display, WiMax support, and agreeable performance. It gains a number of usability improvements from the Gingerbread OS, and its straight Google interface will appeal to Android purists.
The bad: The Samsung Nexus S 4G feels rather fragile, and it lacks a memory card slot and LED notifications. We were hoping for more new features over the Nexus One, and its 4G connection was spotty at times.
The bottom line: The Samsung Nexus S 4G offers a great combination of design, features, and performance. The 4G connection could be more reliable, but the Gingerbread OS, stock Android UI, and admirable call quality make for a satisfying smartphone.

I used it for 2 weeks, then turned it back in.
by mykj26ssf on May 17, 2011
Pros: Able to multi-task, download lots of apps (16 GB worth). Pure Google phone. Integrates with google voice very well. Front and back cam.
Cons: no sd slot- when you can download tons of apps i was at 6GB left out of 16gb of internal on my first week. no easy email notification, so you have to keep checking to see if you received that important email. The screen has a yellow tint to it. I was n

Summary: This is a good phone for non techies. Unlike myself I had loaded a few movies for my self and for my kids. Then i must have downloaded 20 apps/games. I had already used up 10 GB so i figured I could start erasing apps to free up space, but I just bought this thing.. i wanna be able to erase apps in about a year. I do need a 32GB mem slot. This was a main reason I returned it. The screen was crisp but when i used the face book app next to a Verizon DROID X by MOTOROLA face book app and the Driod X looked much more brighter and clear. The Nexus s had a yellow/ brown tint to it. I wanted to have a phone that I could plug into an HDMI slot so I could see the bigger picture. Nexus did not have one. I will be getting the EVO 3D as soon as it comes out. I'm sure its worth the wait. Sorry Google/Samsung you missed a few important features. Maybe next time :(

Excellent phone, does everything well. No Problems.
by saigns49 on May 13, 2011
Pros: Very fast and responsive. Battery life is goo since phone does not have a lot of Sprint apps running in the back. Great looking phone as well. Love the talk to text feature.
Cons: No LED flash and no visual voice mail.
Summary: Excellent phone so far. Best phone I have owned to date.

I am very impressed with the device as a whole.
Pros: I love the weight and the bright screen of the device. Very fast and responsive.
Cons: I wish I could sync my contacts with Facebook.
Summary: I like the idea of customizing my device without having a lot of overlay by a carrier.

Love the phone no regrets.
by jester41 on May 16, 2011
Pros: Good call sound fast sleek design google voice integration.
Cons: No card slot and with google voice integration calls go straight to voicemail while roaming.
Summary: It is a great fast phone with pure gingerbread but you may want to pass on the google voice integration if you travel outside sprint coverage area.

Fast, lightweight and great sound
by DDeanna on May 9, 2011
Pros: Clear calls
Good camera (and videocamera)
Responsive software
Tons of apps
Crazy fast on wi-fi
Relatively inexpensive plan (when compared to other carriers)Cons: Not picking up 4G in Queens
Odd pre-installed ringtones (please recommend an app for better, business-friendly ring tones please!)
Missing a few of my fav apps (from the iOS platform) but I'm sure they're coming soon
Wish you could expand it with a memorySummary: Super fast phone, lightweight and easy to hold. Voice calls sound great - about 10x better than my previous phone (on Verizon), which is utterly critical.

Only had this phone for a day so haven't done too many things with it but looking forward to cruising on 4G like a G-S ;-)5 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great phone, Brilliant display
by jwhilger on May 15, 2011
Pros: -Battery life better than my 3.2in screen hero
-Beautiful Display
-Contour shape is noticeably comfortable
-Very responsiveCons: -I actually miss some sprint programs, like sprint tv and NFL Live
-I know digital zoom is essentially just cropping the photo anyway, it is still missed.

Summary: I updated from an HTC Hero. Coming from HTC sense to 'vanilla' android took some getting used to. I liked the Sense overlay. Though after having the phone for a week now, I am over it. Anything you want can be downloaded in the Market anyway.
The phone itself is very beautiful. I love the candy bar body, smooth edges, and contour display. Its very thin so it fits nicely in the pocket as well. The screen is significantly more brilliant the HTC EVO screen and Hummingbird processor more snappy. The camera on the phone, even at 5MP is still very good as well as the video recorder.
I couldn't have been more happy with my purchase!3 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

No more Pre for me!
by ElleBoogieL on May 12, 2011
Pros: Fast web browsing, great camera, great navigation, voice text, the phone is just great!
Cons: -Was playing with latitude function and it doesn't sign you out automatically
-Wish there was an easier way to arrange apps/personalizationSummary: All in all, this is one of the best phones from Sprint. I've been a Sprint customer for over 10 years. I thought I couldn't get rid of ...
Summary: All in all, this is one of the best phones from Sprint. I've been a Sprint customer for over 10 years. I thought I couldn't get rid of my precious Pre. After having this phone for almost a week now, I don't think I'd ever go back to Palm considering I needed almost 4 Pre replacements. The screen is nice and clear and glad I switched to a droid phone.

Love the customization and vibrants screen
by tyler10c on May 20, 2011
Pros: Samsung quality, Great camera, Open customization, Vibrant touchscreen
Cons: Battery drains quickly, stock Android interface means multitasking and other features are left to 3rd parties, some options can only be changed online
Summary: If you love the stock Android experience you will like this phone. My biggest gripe is multitasking; leaving this to 3rd party developers means your experience will be lacking. Otherwise ...

This is the Galaxy S's little brother/sister.
by jbennett3 on October 7, 2011
Pros: So, being the Galaxy S's little bro/sis, it has a ton of great features and specs.
*Fast processor and wi-fi
*Good camera video (though well below the Galaxy, and slightly below the iPhone 4)
*Android OS and App store are excellent
---Moral bonus points hCons: The big one: No micro-SD slot, 16gb is all you get. I think this was a poor
choice. I didn't even bother to check this when I "bought" this phone, I
assumed it had external storage. I'll survive, but it's a major con--the only

if this is your first 'Droid phone. There are a few oddball quirks that stand
out, e.g. setting separate ringtones for email and text messages. It defaults
to having them both the same. The main one you set in settings, quite simply:
settings->sounds->notification ringtone
(This becomes the text message tone if/when you change your email one.)
To set the email one is *really* complicated.
Gmail->menu button (the three horizontal lines)->more->settings->(account name)->
labels to notify->inbox->ringtone
---
Seriously, why?
Another odd quirk is the voicemail notification icon looks like a
reel of audiotape. The younger generation probably doesn't even
know what that is!
The curve to this phone is very slight, but it is actually noticeably
comfy. I was surprised, tbh I thought this was a gimmick, but it
really does make a difference.
I would absolutely recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't
require the enhanced features of the Galaxy S2 (Sprint calls it something
like the Galaxy Epic 4g Touch.) especially the micro-SD card slot or
the much much better camera/camcorder.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
