- Bottom Line:
- Though we're not in love with the design and would have liked some additional features, the real beauty of the T-Mobile G1 is the Google Android platform, as it has the potential to make smartphones more personal and powerful. That said, it's not quite there yet, so for now, the G1 is best suited for early adopters and gadget hounds, rather than consumers and business users.

The good: The T-Mobile G1 features a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The Google Android operating system offers good integration with Google applications as well as access to the Amazon MP3 Store and YouTube. As more applications become available, the G1 will also become a more powerful smartphone for all types of users.
The bad: The G1 doesn't include a standard heaphone jack and lacks Microsoft Exchange support. There are some annoying design quirks that make the smartphone uncomfortable to hold and difficult to use. You can't save downloaded applications to a memory card. Speakerphone quality wasn't the greatest.
The bottom line: Though we're not in love with the design and would have liked some additional features, the real beauty of the T-Mobile G1 is the Google Android platform, as it has the potential to make smartphones more personal and powerful. That said, it's not quite there yet, so for now, the G1 is best suited for early adopters and gadget hounds, rather than consumers and business users.

Had second thoughts, but apps made it much better
by Aiijsalonlow on April 6, 2009
Pros: Pros:
-Responsive touch screen
-Doesnt get boring like most phones
-Android Market
-QWERTY keyboard is spacious and easy to use
-Very customiable
-Notification shade lets you know about everything going on in your phone at any given moment.Cons: -Screen cannot be used to text(this can be fixed with the download of Chomp in the Android Market)
-Surfing the web could be better(pinching capabilities would be nice)
-Getting the charger and headset port open is difficultSummary: This phone is great for those who have experienced less sophisticated smart phones already. It makes it easier to intergrate into the world of smart phones. It is a great ...
Summary: This phone is great for those who have experienced less sophisticated smart phones already. It makes it easier to intergrate into the world of smart phones. It is a great phone for texting but I would not reccommend the G1 for business purposes. Unlike the iphone and other similar touchscreen models(lg vu, instinct, behold) it is eyecatching and all my friends are sooo jealous! Not great for texting with one hand unless you've downloaded Chomp which allows texting with the screen.

Summary: Google did a bang up job to be fresh out of the starting gate. Andriod is an AWESOME OS and I am really looking forward to what's to come. I left Sprint and the reliable Blackberry Curve for the G1 and do not regret it one single bit. I love the Blackberry but the G1 represents mobile progress. I am very, very impressed so far.

Pros: Apps, layout, touch screen, keypad, crisp sound.
Cons: The battery life is really really bad which makes this phone a 3 star.
If you lock your phone and try the "forgot code" option you can not go back and retry the code again even after the time is up.Summary: I play with my friends G1 and it's impressive. It could be much better if the battery life wasn't so short. It get's hot if you use ...
Summary: I play with my friends G1 and it's impressive. It could be much better if the battery life wasn't so short. It get's hot if you use it while charging so...dont use it haha. The feel of the phone is nice but it can easily slip away from your hands. If you plan to get one and use it a lot especially on the go i recommend that you carry a wall charger/car charger with you all times if you can.
