The good: The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide features a full QWERTY keyboard and the latest version of Android, 2.1, with all of its capabilities. T-Mobile's customized user interface brings a more consumer-friendly look and feel to Android, and the carrier includes some extra apps, like MyTouch Music. The phone's call quality is excellent and its 3G speeds are impressive.
The bad: The Faves Gallery doesn't always display the most up-to-date information. Its camera photo quality is subpar.
The bottom line: The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide isn't the flashiest Android device on the block, but its midrange feature set and friendly user interface make it a good choice for first-time smartphone buyers.

Summary: What I love most about the Mytouch line is that it has a physical keyboard. I find it difficult and lack the patience to type on a slate. I like a physical keyboard, and this phone manages to fit it in and still be sleek and fit nicely into my hand.
Also, Smartphones are getting too big. I'm a girl with girly pockets, and I like how I can slip this slim phone into my jeans or purse without a problem.
The major problem is that the camera is nonfunctional in my phone. I got it used, so it could have been an abuse-related malfunction, but I Googled this problem and apparently other owners have had similar experiences with older models.
The display is brilliant, the touchscreen is responsive, and you can easily customize the phone. The back cover is plastic and scratches, but because it was plastic, I don't feel the same intense remorse that I do when the nice surface of a high-end laptop gets scratched. I think of it as the difference between scratching a luxury vehicle and a firetruck: when it's built with the materials of a fighter, there is less heartbreak when it acquires battle scars. -

Pros: Works great when it wants to.

Summary: It was a great phone while it lasted, I had done plenty of research and ignored all of the reviews warning me that this phone would break...bad idea because it did. I called HTC, they said my phone was still under warranty and the problems I was experiencing sounded like they'd be under warranty, so I sent it in. They then tell me that the water sensor was red, so it must have been exposed to water. I live in a desert and I actually didn't expose this phone to water! They then gave me the option to pay $35 to send it back to me broken...or pay $160+ to fix it...now I have a broken Mytouch 3G slide sitting on my desk..
