The good: The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide features a full QWERTY keyboard and the latest version of Android, 2.1, with all of its capabilities. T-Mobile's customized user interface brings a more consumer-friendly look and feel to Android, and the carrier includes some extra apps, like MyTouch Music. The phone's call quality is excellent and its 3G speeds are impressive.
The bad: The Faves Gallery doesn't always display the most up-to-date information. Its camera photo quality is subpar.
The bottom line: The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide isn't the flashiest Android device on the block, but its midrange feature set and friendly user interface make it a good choice for first-time smartphone buyers.

I like the phone, wish it had more support from TMobile
by Lakerman21 on March 20, 2011
Pros: Speed, the Qwerty Keyboard, the camera, the HTC Sense UI.
Cons: Lack of support from T-Mobile. I have had the phone replaced twice since June, but this one works great.
Summary: I really do like this phone, it has everything I need. I am enjoying the 5 megapixel camera and use it extensively.
Unfortunately, TMobile will not be upgrading the phone ...Summary: I really do like this phone, it has everything I need. I am enjoying the 5 megapixel camera and use it extensively.
Why not get a newer Android phone to compare to the IPhone? The Mytouch Slide has been out for almost a year now and didn't have the top specs at the time of the release. Your statement shows a lack of knowledge on the subject.
Unfortunately, TMobile will not be upgrading the phone to 2.2.1 (FROYO) and are moving away from supporting it anymore. For this reason I rooted my phone and am now running the Sense 2.2.1 software with wifi calling and hotspot capabilities.
Because of the support, I suggest that you move onto a Mytouch 4G or other phone, unless you want to root it.

Great at first, but ultimately disappointing
by klo75 on February 21, 2011
Pros: Features like genius and widgets are good, qwerty keyboard, dragon dictation and swype are easy enough. Speed is pretty good for browsing.
Cons: I am on my 3rd phone. It kept freezing and dropping calls, 3G signal disappears. Absolutely HAVE to keep messaging memory down to a minimum because it affects your phone capabilities.
Summary: I just received my 3rd phone in the mail. Hoping this one makes it. In the end, phone capability more important than features. So far very disappointed and at least ...
Summary: I just received my 3rd phone in the mail. Hoping this one makes it. In the end, phone capability more important than features. So far very disappointed and at least tmobile is replacing them but having to factory reset, and replace so many times is very inconvenient. Will not be using too many apps since I have had to reinstall with every phone malfunction.

Two phones too buggy.
by maggruff on December 6, 2010
Pros: Easy-to-use for a first android, responsive touch screen, fun phone.
Cons: Keyboard was rough sliding out, the phone had a delicate feel (like it would shatter into a million pieces), THE BUG: occasional dropped phone call (first phone), random reboot (second phone).
Summary: I fell in love with this phone as a first-time android user, even though I only had the phone for three days. However, when I would try to make a ...
Summary: I fell in love with this phone as a first-time android user, even though I only had the phone for three days. However, when I would try to make a phone call (including check voicemail), the phone would restart itself, on occasion. After contacting HTC about this problem. They promptly sent us 3 troubleshoots, one being factory reset. Well, we did everything, and the phone still had this problem. My husband, who is tech-savvy, figured out this bug only occurred when an app would be downloaded (like a bank app). So it was either make phone calls and have no apps or have apps and a useless phone. We took it back to T-mobile for a replacement. While in the store, my husband started to set the phone up, only to have the phone totally reboot several times. We went right back up to the counter. I wasn't about to keep going from phone to phone until I found one that worked at that time, so I decided to go with the Samsung Vibrant (a very sexy device:). The man who helped us at T-Mobile told us HTC released it's "OWN VERSION OF ANDROID with the mytouch phones", thus making them buggy. I was really disappointed to have to go to another phone, but once the Vibrant was placed in my hands, I had a new love. I thought I would share the fact that HTC had it's own android design, and like anything new, has some kinks to work out. I didn't find any mention of that fact in other reviews about this phone.
I would be very wary about purchasing this phone. It would be an excellent device if it worked! -
Great upgrade for the TMobile G1

Pros: Lots of memory, very responsive, well spaced keyboard, good quality feel.
Cons: I miss the separate row for the numeric keys on the G1
Summary: This is without a doubt the best phone I've ever owned and I've used it now for almost a year.
