The good: Adobe Acrobat 9 wraps video and animation into PDFs; supports geospatial mapping and 3D images; enhances 256-bit encryption; improves form management and redaction; takes Web page snapshots; PDF Portfolios better bundle complex packages; free online tie-ins extend the tools and allow remote collaboration.
The bad: Adobe Acrobat 9 isn't a cinch to master; tech support is pricey; PowerPoint tie-ins and geospatial mapping are only available in Pro Extended.
The bottom line: This update should be worthwhile for security-minded businesses and creative firms. With Acrobat 9, Adobe brings new Web relevance to print-ready PDFs by enabling embedded video and animation. Forms, security, and overall ease of use are also enhanced.

Version 5 is better for me

Cons: Does not export pdf to other formats without a lot of errors ( ie Word docs, text, RTF etc)

Pros: Opens up a bit faster. Lot's of bells and whistles, if you need them. I do not.
Cons: Distorts text and pictures using basic Print-to-Acrobat from Power Point. Too clever by half.

Summary: Upgraded from 7. Only way to create a clean print/pdf from PowerPoint was to open Acrobat, Open file using all file types and then open the power point file. Acrobat will then convert file to pdf and all the distortions went away. But could not get this quality printing from Power Point to Acrobat no matter how I fiddled with settings. Another option was to print from PowerPoint to MS XPS Document Writer (scale to fit paper) and then open .xps file and print to Acrobat. Very awkward. I am tempted to go back to version 7.
