Pros: This range IS Built and weighs around 200 pounds. The bottom broiler flame is huge and HOT. The heavy stainless is the less shiny stainless and does not fingerprint easy. The Griddle can double as a spoon rest etc. Very well insulated, holds heat.
Cons: Black top spots easy. No oven window.

Summary: We prefer bottom broilers and not a lot of gadgetry and had all but given up on having to settle for a lower end model when we stumbled on a half price floor model sale b4 Thanksgiving. The very plain clock and timer ARE behind tempered glass but are NOT connected to anything thermostat related so you could take that back piece off if you want. NICE sealed burners that will light in a power out. This range IS Built and weighed in at around 200 pounds. The broiler flame is huge and HOT and we love the range simmer burner and so far have have taken it easy on the super burners that we saw a warning on had burned the finish (NOT covered under warranty) right off. We are prepared to buy the reasonably priced optional chrome rings in advance. Oven is not huge and I would have preferred a window but DOES seem to hold heat exceptionally well with that kind of mass; we tossed in a 1 inch pizza stone for good measure. I would say that it does heat up a little slow but then, when you have over-compensated by turning it up too high, takes forever to cool down. Running about 25 degrees cool so far. Had NO problem running up to 550 to brown the turkey. I think it is very well insulated somehow and doesn't seem to vent as much heat as our, also built, RIP, 33 year old Imperial that was STILL working. Black top requires a lot of wiping as any kind of dried water drop leaves a mark but easy enough. The heavy stainless is the less shiny stainless and does not fingerprint easy. With 6 burners, pots can be a little close, and no place for a spoon rest, but the Griddle can double as a spoon rest etc for those of us who stack on top of their stove. A bakers rack with a cutting board top close by is a very handy accessory. We thought we might replace the black knobs with something stainless but they are growing on us and don't heat up.
We don't expect this one to last 33 years as we expect to be retired with an Induction stove, but it is at least possible.
