The good: Amply endowed 10-inch subwoofer; 200-watt amplifier (FTC rated); versatile connectivity.
The bad: The sonic match with its companion SLX speakers is far from seamless.
The bottom line: Klipsch's Synergy Sub-10 is powerful and musical, and that's not something you always find in midpriced subwoofers.

Pros: Combined with the Klipsch Quintet III speakers and this thing ROCKS!. This has options in the back that i was not expecting for the price range. Love the fact that it turns off automatically after a predetermined time of inactivity.
Cons: Cant find any!

Great sound for music, movies and games
by kdschroeder on January 14, 2009
Pros: I shopped around for quite a while and finally decided on the SUB10 to complete my 7.1 system. I have six 6.5 in-ceiling & a dual 6.5 center channel.
I placed this sub in a corner on carpet.
The bass source is undetectable - it fills the room.Cons: The LED power indicator on the front is quite bright (Red - off... Blue - on)
I will probably put a piece of dark tape over it as it is distracting when the room is dark for movie viewing.Summary: I would recommend this 10" sub to anyone wanting to fill an average size room with powerful supporting bass. It is easy to set up. There are several connection options ...
Summary: I would recommend this 10" sub to anyone wanting to fill an average size room with powerful supporting bass. It is easy to set up. There are several connection options - so you are not limited. The manual adjustments (low pass and gain) let you customize the output. (outside of any receiver programming) The cabinet size is average. The only con is the bright LED otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Summary: This has replaced a nice Onkyo sub, and I can really say WOW. This sub is sweet. Big bass when you need it, and all the clean low bass while watching just plain old TV. Klipsch has produced a very nice unit. One of the best, if not the best on the market.

Summary: I love this sub! I have it hooked up to my Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K and I think it's great! I have the gain turned about 20% of the way up and it has the deepest clearest sound for the price. You can feel the bass everywhere and I love it. Definatly worth it! For music, movies(Blu-Ray) and games its absoulely great. Fills my entire 2 rooms large apartment with bass and complements the other 7 speakers I have hooked up, would recommend this subwoofer! Can only imagine what the 12 inch sounds like....must be overkill compared to the 10 inch for apartments/small houses.

Glad I bought this. Santas gift to santa this year.
by laxsoccercoach on December 27, 2008
Pros: Its like a night club in my house. Didn't give it a full 5 of 5 cause I'm not a real audiophile. Just like my music base in my chest. which this delivers.
Cons: Its the size of a small ottoman. Worried it might delaminate my wood floors with is subsonic blasts. : )
Summary: Its everything and more than the sales guy at Circuit city said it would be. No buyers remorse at all. Very good value for the money. Makes our "Rock Band ...

Summary: I have yet to be dissappointed with a Klipsch product yet. This sub is no exception. This is a great addition to any home theater system. The frequency response allows it to be paired with a wide variety of speaker sets. I have a Klipsch Icon VC 25 center, two Klipsch Icon VF 35s, and four Klipsch Synergy III S1s. It matches almost flawlessly. I am very impressed witth the true shaking bass that it delivers. As the cnet review states, this sub sounds great with music and it sounds amazing with movies. The only complaints that I have, which are hardly complaints, more of petty annoyances, is that the light in front is very bright. It is a bright blue, and when all the lights are off it is really bright. And it is very large. Two things that I can definitely deal with when considering the cost and sound quality! Overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The best addition to my audio system
by SourChipmunk on January 10, 2008
Pros: Excellent low bass reproduction; fast response

Summary: This was the best addition to my audio system I have made. The Klipsch Tangent 400s had very good bass response, but very low frequencies distorted at high volume. This sub filled in that void and changed my music and movie experience.
The manual recommends experimenting with different placement to determine the best sound and bass reproduction. I recommend the same. I initially had it set up in the middle of the front wall, but moved it to a corner and it made a noticable difference in the quality. In movies, storms and explosions now fill the room with bass without being overpowering.
The owner's manual does not tell you to not place items on the cabinet top. Though it may be common sense for some, I had to learn the hard way. Items will rattle, fall off, and possibly damage the cabinet. I recommend keeping the top and surrounding area clean of knick-knacks or other loose objects.
Specifications
- Manufacturer: Klipsch
- Part number: SUB-10
- Description: A masterpiece of sound and design, the Synergy Series Sub-10 shakes things up with its rock-solid performances. Its extraordinary power adds a dose of "reality" to movie explosions and other special effects, as well as reveals commonly elusive lower musical tones. The Sub-10 reaches deeper and hits harder thanks to a 10-inch, down-firing driver coupled to a highly efficient BASH Class D amplifier that creates 200 watts of continuous power and 420 watts of dynamic power. Because of its ample enclosure size and large, rear-firing port with flared ends, the Sub-10 produces increased bass response with low distortion. The subwoofer's built-in, steep-slope (24dB/octave) low-pass crossover is continuously adjustable from 40 to 120Hz. A phase control facilitates acoustical integration of the subwoofer with the other speakers in the system. An "auto power" feature enables the subwoofer to turn itself on and off (standby) automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal. A blue/red dual color LED display on the front of the subwoofer indicates whether the unit is on or in standby mode. In addition to delivering a bass impact that's beyond restraint, the Sub-10 features a new industrial design that is refined and aggressive. Available in a black finish with titanium accents, this extraordinary subwoofer matches the entire Synergy Series lineup in both style and performance. With its charged presence and room-rocking abilities, the Sub-10 delivers an adrenaline rush of sound that will impress your friends and provide years of high-quality audio entertainment.
