  Great sound

  Pros: Excellent SQ (particularly w/ stands). Great (sonic) value for a prepackaged system.

  Cons: Like most prepackaged systems it Isn't the friendliest choice if upconverting to 7.1 is somewhere in your future (buying matching satellites wasn't an option). They ARE rather drab-looking.

  Summary: One of several prepackaged speaker systems I tried for use on a home system I'm currently setting up around a Marantz SR5003 AV receiver. Really excelled with speaker stands for the corner satellites, although this wasn't ideal for the final installation, particularly w/ the rear channels. Wasn't as impressed with the subwoofer as I was with the center and corner speakers; thought it was a bit too directional in detection given the crossover point, something a good sub should not be.
  
  Sonically the Canton setup seemed pretty precise, with enough warmth to its sound that ALMOST made me choose to keep them. However in the end I've elected not to go the prepackaed route for my "final" install, instead opting to build a setup using mix and match separates (for the time being we're using a prepackaged MCS100 5.1 set by Boston Acoustics purchase at a blowout price from Amazon--nowhere close to the sound of the Canton, but as purchased it was a $1000 less and allows me to use the Marantz as I pick and choose my permanent speakers). Aesthetics did play a role in my decision, as did the ease of picking up additional separates for the 7.1 setup I ultimately want to arrive at (I'm looking at a Paradigm build instead, based around using their wonderful Mini Monitors for the corners--in the end I suspect I'll probably end up spending 2 1/2 to 3 times what the Canton set costs; oh how I loathe what I do to my credit card balance...).
  
  For a 5.1 packaged system it really is hard to find sonic fault with the Canton system, but as for me it may still not be enough to be the solution that works the best.

  Pros: Heard speakers from these folks some time ago. Sounded OK to me.

  Cons: A little pricey.
