Good bang for the buck!
by canpatm on November 8, 2005
Pros: Look good, sounds better.
Cons: While they look good from the lazyboy, a closer look reveals the vinyl covering. Just don't scratch it or nick it and noone will notice.

Summary: I have the updated plus speakers. I think I finally have them broken in. They do sound good. We re-watched a movie that we had watched on the old set of Polk-Audios and could hear small noises that we had not before with the Fluance. I thought it was pretty cool.
I tried a few movies and CD's without the sub and they sounded good, but a sub really does help with the over all effect.
About shipping, these speakers were packed great. When we were taking them out of the box, we opened the first box and discovered another, then lots of styrofoam to pad. Like one of those hard to open gag gifts from a friend.
Anyways, I can't wait to show them off to my friends and family.Updated
I've had these speakers for almost a year and the sound is still crisp and clear. I added a sub and it complimants the 5 speakers very nicely.
They've pumped out the tunes for partying and made my home theater experience so much better.
What a great set of speakers to compliment my new 52 inch LCD HDTV. Now I have great sound and picture.
Popcorn's ready, time for an action movie!Updated
Someone emailed me to ask if speaker wire was included with these speakers. It is not included.
I got a good deal on e*bay on some good 12 gauge speaker cable and banana clips.6 out of 6 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great deal - solid speakers.

Summary: I do not think these can be beat for their price. I paid $240 plus $60 shipping on ebay and would do it again in a heartbeat. The front speakers are jaw dropping good for the price, but the center and rears are just serviceable. I added a Dayton sub-woof for $99 plus shipping from Parts Express and that adds to the experience tremendously. The great benefit of these speakers is that they are very good for home theater and also very good for music. They do indeed sound like speakers costing quite a bit more. If you do get into quite a bit more, however, you get quite a bit more. For a small apartment and a small budget, they are a no brainer. And I think they look terrific - better than the pictures.

A $1000 set of speakers for a $300 price
Pros: I've had these speakers for about 6 months and I absolutely love them. My friend and I both purchased a HT system together, he went with the Onkyo HT-S760 system after hearing them at the store, I went with the Onkyo 502 receiver and took the chance on t
Cons: Nothing. I could do without the little metal Fluance label on the towers but who cares.

Truely great speakers for the price
by kolky on May 21, 2005
Pros: Good looks, great sound, amazing price
Cons: You will need to add a sub, but considering the speakers will only cost you $250 you can afford to splurge.
Summary: You can not even get 5 low quality speakers for this price at Best Buy or Circuit City. These will blow you away with their sound quality. The are also ...

Summary: I'm so very impressed with these speakers that I'm still somewhat shocked that I only had to spend $249 for them. From start to end, my experience with Fluance speakers has been nothing but positive. The ordering process thru Oakvillesound.com was painless, and I was kept alert of every step along the way. Within 3 days, I had the UPS driver at my doorstep with my speakers!
After wiring everything up, it took a few days for them to "break-in" (they sounded a bit harsh at first), but after that, the sound was EXCELLENT - clear and accurate. I would have given a rating of 10/10 if only we didn't have to deal with shipping, I wish there was a way around that. Regardless, I definitely recommend Fluance speakers!3 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Products are only as good as the customer service. I ordered the system through the Fluance website at the start of December, a couple of days later I was told that all of the speakers were not available and that they would have to back-order the larger units. I was told that it could be about 6-8 weeks before the entire system would arrive. While I was hesitant to go through with the order, they assured me that they would send out the remaining speakers as soon as they came in stock. Well, it is now the middle of May and I have not had much luck trying to get updates. They have told me a number of times that they were having production delays, but expected to get more stock in soon. But I don't think that they actually produce their own speakers, as they cannot tell me when they will be getting any more in. When I said that I would like to return the ones that were shipped so that I could purchase a system and not mis-matched pieces, I was told that the return period had lapsed and there was nothing they could do. I always love when a company tells a customer that there is nothing they could do. Nothing that they want to do is more like it.
While the speakers may be OK, if you can't trust the vendor when a problem comes up, go with a different company. I would advise folks to look elsewhere!2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Absolute best bang for the buck
Pros: I bought these speakers almost a year ago and they are easily comparable with $1,000 speakers. It turns out that they are very cable dependent so I went thru about 3 sets of monster speaker cable before settling with bi-wire z cable (almost cost as much a
Cons: Speaker cabinet is cheap to the touch so dont touch them and you won't notice.

Very good speakers, ridiculously low price

Summary: I've owned a set of these speakers for close to two years, and have been totally impressed. They are driven by a good quality 5.1 home theater receiver and audio inputs include CDs, DVDs, over-the-air HD 5.1 broadcasts and vinyl records. Fundamentally they will take anything I'm able to throw at them and come up sounding great. They were initially purchased as an affordable stop-gap before acquiring as $1,000+ set of speakers that I couldn't yet afford, and I've long since spent that on other things. Though the bass in the two floor-standing units is decent, it lacks the really "oomphy" low end of a real sub-woofer, so one of those is all you need to complete the system.

Delays and unfriendly shipping policies equals a NO-BUY
by kcf06751 on March 22, 2010
Pros: Did not receive product
Cons: I ordered February 24nd and I only received a call March 22nd (!) that they couldn't ship the product to me because my shipping address was different from my bill address. Are you kidding me?
Summary: I really wanted to like Fluance, but their shipping policies forced me to cancel my order. I have a unique situation because I am a diplomat with the US government ...
Summary: I really wanted to like Fluance, but their shipping policies forced me to cancel my order. I have a unique situation because I am a diplomat with the US government and therefore will never have the same shipping and billing address. After talking with the manager and offering to send them a bill from my current address with my name on it, they still decided that this difference couldn't be reconciled. What a waste of time.
For a small company, they sure don't seem to care much about their customers. If they would have told me about their peculiar shipping polices right after I made the order it would be one thing, but they let me twist in the wind for an entire month and then decided to give me the bad news.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Shipping was quick and clean with no damage to the exterior packing boxes. Inside the packing the speakers where VERY well padded. I have now had these speakers for about 8 months and LOVE them. They sound great in a very large volume room even with exposed wooden floors. These speakers are high quality and should cost twice as much as they do. A wonderful 5.1 experience. I have compared their sound quality to Omni Mirage and Klipsch set ups, these win hands down. At twice the price these speakers are a good deal, priced as they are you can not go wrong.
