- The 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L's small size and Civic-like handling make it a great choice for city dwellers who occasionally need to haul things--or people. While the cabin tech is impressive, a few more features, such as Bluetooth or iPod connectivity, would make it a home run.

The good: The 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L's voice-command system is fantastically easy to use and allows complete control over the navigation, audio, and climate-control systems. Steering is accurate and handling is very carlike. Its small size and backup camera make this one of the easiest vehicles to park.
The bad: There is no option for Bluetooth hands-free. The sole digital-audio option is the odd PC Card slot behind the motorized touch screen, which means iPod or MP3 players have to plug in through the aux-in. Firm suspension makes for a choppy ride over bumpy roads.
The bottom line: The 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L's small size and Civic-like handling make it a great choice for city dwellers who occasionally need to haul things--or people. While the cabin tech is impressive, a few more features, such as Bluetooth or iPod connectivity, would make it a home run.

by NPO2500 on July 25, 2009
Pros: Exceptional body and style design, MPG actually hit 33 on highway, visibility, interior space, excellent speed when needed, size for those who do not want large SUV, colors are great!
Cons: Not for speed-racers
Summary: After having a 2000 Accord, I switched to this. Once you sit in this vehicle, there are no regrets! People are in awe of this fantastic crossover. Safety is 100% ...

Love this Car
by mikemiafl on April 3, 2009
Pros: The voice recognition and nav touch screen are awesome. The car handles well and feels like a luxary vehicle with the leather interior. I love driving this car.
Cons: No bluetooth. Sucks. :( Only thing I don't like.
Summary: This car is an overall a treat to drive and I feel safe with airbags freakin everywhere, include curtain. The article is not correct about street names with the nav ...
Summary: This car is an overall a treat to drive and I feel safe with airbags freakin everywhere, include curtain. The article is not correct about street names with the nav system. You just change your detail level to max and it says the names of all the streets. I'm surprised they missed this. People that get into my car always ask me what type of vehicle it is. It's very comfortable. I love the power outlet in the trunk, it's great for electric coolers and tailgating.

Engine seems reliable and very roomy inside
by whchuang on November 8, 2010
Pros: Very roomy inside, very practical and user-friendly panel design, side airbags and 5-stars crash testing score (even better than a BMW X5 - do your own Google search), comfortable ride (Honda's suspension is awesome), low maintenance fee
Cons: Exterior. Lack option for a powerful V6 engine. Quality control (some new cars may have very minor rattling or clicking sound coming from windshield glass window, the edges of some doors can be sharp)... better FM/AM radio, lack "hill-start" control
Summary: Overall I think it is one of the best entry-level compact SUV in its class. I bought it mainly because of the reputation of Honda reliability (search JD Power), best ...
Summary: Overall I think it is one of the best entry-level compact SUV in its class. I bought it mainly because of the reputation of Honda reliability (search JD Power), best resale value, and very roomy interior. If they could fix some of the problems listed above in the 2012 model, I think it will continue to be the best selling SUV around the world. Go Honda Go!!

Everything is outstanding except for the Bluetooth

Pros: Everything except for the fact that I had to pay to get integrated handsfree installed.
Cons: no bluetooth option for a vehicle that cost almost 30k

Summary: I recently installed the Premium Package for my 2009 Honda CR-V with Navigation. The installation was very straightforward, and Charlie and the guys were EXTREMELY responsive with a few questions that I had, even offering his personal contact number should I need it.
The system works flawlessly; we aren't even using all of the functions, but the most important things work perfectly: Automatic pairing of the phone when the ignition is turned on; automatic muting of the audio system; and crystal clear voice quality on both ends of the call. I am VERY happy I decided to install this!
I am glad that I called BFTSYNC in houston for the handsfree solution they had that was very easy to install. I thank CNET and the above review to be able to do that.
