Apple iPad (March 2012, 16GB, Wi-Fi, black) price range: $349.99 - $484.88

The good: Apple's new iPad includes a stunning new screen, matched by a quad-core graphic processor and the world's largest app and media store to feed it content. There's a proper 5-megapixel rear camera now, with 1080p recording quality. Optional 4G data from AT&T and Verizon afford an uncompromising mobile experience.
The bad: The new iPad is slightly heavier than last year's model; apps and movies optimized for the screen might take up more space; and ports for HDMI, USB, and SD require adapters.
The bottom line: With a host of improvements--faster graphics, 4G wireless options, a better camera, and a gorgeous high-res screen--the latest iPad cements its position at the head of the tablet pack.

Apple without a doubt has the top tablet for a reason.
by Applelover88 on June 29, 2012
Pros: Amazing retina display screen, apps, cloud based services, music, multitasking, build quality, and allover quality of the product. I never fails to amaze me, even after 3 months of having it.
Cons: I really don't have anything bad to say about this amazing product, maybe the price, but you get what you pay for, and you get a lot!
Summary: Most amazing tablet I've ever used. I'm almost speechless, truly it cannot be described fully, unless you use it.

Pros: The Retina-Display is just and just awesome for everything(Apps, pics, movies etc),iSight Camera is awesome,4G is blazing fast,iOS 6 is best(for Tablets as no one owns equal share as iPad even after all combined) and etc
Cons: It is a perfect product though I wanted an SD slot but it'd have allowed malwares.

Pros: The retina display effect is very obvious on texts, icons are crystal clear
enhanced camera
lots of apps (as usual)
games for the new ipad (infinity blade) is a new dimension for gamersCons: Slightly heavier than IPAD2
Charging time increased
heating is not an issue at all , it warm a bit but it is really negligibleSummary: Bottomline: if you are an IPAD2 user do not buy it the extra cost is not compensated even by the Retina display unless you really really really want to put ...
Summary: Bottomline: if you are an IPAD2 user do not buy it the extra cost is not compensated even by the Retina display unless you really really really want to put the screen up to your eyes and dont see pixelation
the heating and charging issue is not a big deal at all and it should not stop you from buying the new IPAD however it may stop you from upgrading
Heavier weight is something Apple should really work on, but still it should not stop you from getting the New IPAD
New tablet users if the price difference is not a big issue for you then there is nothing stopping you from getting the latest and the greatest new ipad, based on my experience with apple and android this is the best tablet in the market with a perfect screen dimensions for browsing, reading, gaming, business, and enormous 200,000 apps on the store many of them designed for ipad (on the contrary android market have a very limited apps designed for tabs which was a killer point for me and its a shoe stopper for anyone wants to risk with android tabs)
for android users, you are really missing alot of dedicated apps, perfect screen dimensions and a smooth operating system plus the Retina display.
Summary>>>>>>>
IPAD 2 user ----> Dont upgrade
New Users ------> it is the best choice
Android users-----> you are missing alot -

Fast processor (compared to iPad 1)
Rear camera is great
Numerous apps
Dictation
4G capabilityCons: Home button can be defective

Summary: I bought my white Verizon 4G/WiFi 16 GB iPad as a replacement for my iPad 1 WiFi only. I am very pleased that I decided to replace the older iPad, finding it to be slow for creating documents and presentations and lagging all too often when bringing up some websites and videos.
I was disappointed with the defective Home button on my initial new iPad purchase but I returned it to the Apple store several days later and they provided me with a brand new iPad that is perfoming flawlessly. I advise anyone buying the new iPad to keep the box so that if you need to return it Apple will provide you with a new one within the return window.
I have not tried the 4G data service yet, but I will on my next trip. -
A well put together and cohesive device.

Pros: 1) Best resolution bar none
2) Great for those who live and breath in the iOSsphere.
3) Makes media consumption and creation a joy do rather than another boring taskCons: Don't really have any except I wish that the back was scratch proof?

Definitely Exceeded My Expectations
by CLXYZ3 on April 9, 2012
Pros: Awesome HD Display
Very Long Battery Life
Snappy Performance
Great rear camera
Quad-core graphic
(to name a few)Cons: The front camera could be of higher resolution, but this isn't really a con... just a minor gripe

Summary: This is the first iPad I've ever owned. I've always viewed iPads as merely giant 4th-gen iPod Touches. However, after watching the keynote for this 3rd-gen iPad, I found myself really, REALLY wanting one for some reason. The HD screen, the quad-core graphics, the insanely long battery... it's all so enticing. So I finally broke down and bought one... best decision/investment I've made in a while. The functionality of this thing is simply phenomenal. I've been using Pages and Keynote to get my assignments done (in lieu of Word and PowerPoint), along with a plethora of other productivity apps for animation, education, and more.
The iPad will keep you entertained too! As of right now I have like 70+ games, about 1000 songs, and a few movies/TV shows on my new iPad. With the new Retina Display, my games and movies look AWESOME (except for the few apps I have that haven't been updated for the HD display, but that's not Apple's fault, of course).
Like I said, this is my first iPad, so I didn't have to decide whether or not to upgrade from the iPad 2. But from what I've experienced, I'd definitely say it is worth upgrading, if you love HD. I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and if you buy one, I'm sure you will be too. -
I returned it after two days.
by SimplySalli on April 5, 2012
Pros: Bright screen with all the HD you ever want to see.
Cons: Battery hog
Net surfing... The letters are blurred on pages.
Wifi to 4G isnt as smooth as with the Ipad 2
Memory hog!
HD Apps are expensive and only look pretty.Summary: Bottom line, I loved the Ipad 2 the new and improved version with retina display is not worth upgrading. Camera ... Didn't notice a difference, Nor was their any speed ...
Summary: Bottom line, I loved the Ipad 2 the new and improved version with retina display is not worth upgrading. Camera ... Didn't notice a difference, Nor was their any speed difference. The cost of apps is higher, and you will run out of memory quickly! Also you will have to charge more often.
Specifications
- Manufacturer: Apple
- Part number: MC705LL/A
- Description: Pick up the iPad and suddenly, it's clear. You're actually touching your photos, reading a book, playing the piano. Nothing comes between you and what you love. To make that hands-on experience even better, they made the fundamental elements of iPad better - the display, the camera, the wireless connection. All of which makes the third-generation iPad capable of so much more than you ever imagined. Everything you do with iPad, you do through its large, beautiful display. And when the display is better, the entire iPad experience is better. The Retina display on the iPad features a 2048-by-1536 resolution, 44-percent greater color saturation, and an astounding 3.1-million pixels - in the same 9.7-inch space. That's four times the number of pixels in iPad and a million more than an HDTV. Those pixels are so close together, your eyes can't discern individual ones at a normal viewing distance. When you can't see the pixels, you see the whole picture. Or article. Or game. In ways you never could before.
