Apple iPad Mini price range: $329.00 - $336.48

The good: The iPad Mini's ultrathin and light design is far more intimate and booklike than the larger iPad, and its cameras, storage capacities, optional LTE antenna, and general functionality offer a full iPad experience. The screen's dimensions elegantly display larger-format magazines and apps.
The bad: The iPad Mini costs too much, especially considering the lower resolution of its 7.9-inch non-Retina Display. The A5 processor isn't as robust as the one in the fourth-gen iPad and iPhone 5. Typing on the smaller screen is not quite as comfy.
The bottom line: If you want the full, polished Apple tablet experience in a smaller package, the iPad Mini is worth the premium price. Otherwise, good alternatives are available for less money.

Feels and looks ok, but is ridiculously overexpensive

Returned this and kept my Ipad 3rd Gen. Waste of money!
by mattliptak on December 18, 2012
Pros: Smaller size and great resolution make it compact and portable. Feels like you are carrying a book and fits into pockets. Strong battery life and ultra thin.
Cons: Waste of money. I bought this thinking I could add it to my already large collection of Apple products but there is no place for it. It is too small. Larger Ipads are faster and easier to view. This was a impulse buy and worthless.
Summary: I would only buy this if you have never owned another Ipad. Otherwise you will be disappointed and will be returning.

I have an iPhone 5 and had iPad 3 - sold iPad 3, will either wait for next gen mini or get iPad 4.
Why can't Apple make a 5 - 5.5 inch phone??? I truly want an Apple phablet. One device instead of 2!!!1 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Not worth it as competitors do better at lower prices!
by m_chan1 on November 9, 2012
Pros: - It's an iPad, just smaller
- iOS is relatively simple to use, don't need to relearn anything for iOSCons: - Pricey as H#LL!
- Lousy resolution
- NO expansion slot
- Closed OSSummary: Why bother owning this when you can get the iPad 3 which is much better?

Many people already listed the Cons against the iPad Mini so I won't really repeat the bulk of it.
Basically, if you want a smaller tablet, then get an Android version which 1) cost LESS, 2) has a better screen resolution and 3) has an expansion slot... basically getting more for your money!
My Samsung GT7Plus almost matches it in performance if not completely better than iOS even with an 7" instead of an 7.9" screen and I was able to add a 64Gb expansion card to its 16Gb internal storage for a whole lot less for more storage!
The iPad mini went back in function and design just to keep customers from leaving Apple since many people still can't afford the iPad except for Apple lovers/Fanboys!
If you're new to tablets, then it's fine.
If you already own an iPad and really like Apple, then it's also fine.
If you already own an iPad but want an updated tablet at an AFFORDABLE price with decent features/functions, look to the Android tablet!
It's either an iPad or Android tablet.
Each has their own strengths and weaknesses but the Android tablet will cost less than an iPad and cost IS an issue for MOST people!
I left an aging iPad original and didn't go back. Now to eventually do the same with the iPhone 4 once the contract ends!3 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

I recommend waiting. Apple is almost sure to fix the major omissions with the mini's second iteration. If you need something now, I recommend spending more and get a full sized iPad. However, if you only have 329 dollars, and its burning a hole in your pocket. The iPad mini's $129 price premium could go a long way toward buying apps in the Amazon App Store with a Kindle Fire HD Tablet, or on the Google Play store with a Nexus 7 Tablet.3 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

Why the garbage screen????????????????
by appleluvr2 on October 31, 2012
Pros: 2 yr old can use it.
Cons: Closed ecosystem. Apple doesnt let you have access to your own property. Screen is unbearably bad. Pixel density is at least 2 generations behind. Color, Vibrance.... Screen just looks so crappy, cant believe Apple did this.
Summary:
And it costs 30% to much in my opinion.

Not good for the price
by sanman1998 on November 23, 2012
Pros: Good Apps
Good sizeCons: Pretty much everything else
Summary: Not good for its price point. I might have bought it for 200$. Returned it. Bought a Nexus 7. Saved 130$, and got a better tablet.

The screen is offensive to all five senses.
by the26web on January 2, 2013
Pros: Its so cute. Its size makes it a perfect e-reader or travel companion. Did I mention its adorable:)
Cons: This is the year 2013 not 2000. No one wants a tablet with a blurry screen. After transferring my music videos and movies, I was repulsed that they reminded me of an old desktop. It was quickly exchanged for an iPad with retina display.
Summary: I'll probably buy it when the screen resolution improves, the price drops or both. For now the horrible screen makes it not worth the box its sold in. If ...
Summary: I'll probably buy it when the screen resolution improves, the price drops or both. For now the horrible screen makes it not worth the box its sold in. If it wasn't for the fact that I hate android products with the constant system crashes and poor battery life I would have replaced it with a cheap android 7 inch tablet. But, since this is me we are talking about, I decided to invest my money in a real iPad instead of either putting up with Apple's cute imitation of their own product or buying a buggy crashing nightmare.

Reworked Ipad 2
by hickstl on November 5, 2012
Pros: It is a nice size
Cons: Same processor and screen resolution of the iPad 2 - be better to buy one of them. Why is Apple launching old technology and calling it new? Leftovers from the 2 production line?
Summary: Think Apple is ripping everyone off with this launch. Nothing new. Old technology. All you get is smaller size.

Looks great but should have been $250 or less.
by lbeck37 on October 23, 2012
Pros: Got everything the others have.
It goes with my other Apple stuff.Cons: Costs too much. $250 would have been OK, $329 is a 1/3 again too much. $250 is still $50 more than the others.
No SD card slot and memory options are obnoxiously expensive.
iOS is not as good as Android.Summary: Looks great but should have been $250 to get me to buy it instead of a Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD or Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
