The good: The Nexus 7 features a sharp screen, a comfortable design, and great battery life at a low starting price. Android 4.2 adds some welcome and useful features.
The bad: Android still needs more tablet-optimized apps, newer games have frame rate issues, and HSPA+ speeds seem particularly location-dependent.
The bottom line: With its excellent design, useful software features, and low starting price, the Nexus 7 is the cheapest way to experience the best that the Android OS has to offer.
Pros: Price It weights as much as air Screen Memory
Cons: Nothing really, because I knew what I was buying, before I bought it.

Summary: If you are in the market for a 7" tablet, I think you cannot go wrong with the Nexus 7. I also think that the "ifruit" people make some great products. I do not own one, but I have played with them. That said, consider the cost then. A 32gb "ifruit" mini will set you back about $429. That is $180 more, and for me that's too much money. The Nexus 7 is fast, it has a very nice screen, and it weights as much as air. Some may say that it is too small too watch movies, but I beg to differ. It is big enough to watch them without strain. Some complain that it does not come with a memory expansion slot. Cry babies I tell you. You can't really fill up a 32GB tablet with apps. It's hard. Unless you decide to download everything on Google play. Some others say that it does not have a rear facing camera. I ask them, "Does your camera have a rear facing tablet"? No you say? You can use your cell phone for that, and since most everything is on the cloud, you can get it on your tablet instantly. I have skydrive. Don't yell at me, that's what I use. Some say that the sound is not loud enough. Two questions for you. One, are you deaf? Two, are you trying to use it to entertain a wedding party of 200 people? Yes it may disappoint you there. The only thing that I wish it had, is an HDMI connector. But I knew that before I bought it, so I don't complain, I just wish it had it. Get a nice case for it, and you will love your new Nexus 7 tablet.
Pros: Very nice, vivid, HD screen. Right size. Premium look. 32GB of internal storage. Android 4.1 upgradable to 4.2 out of the box. Solid battery performance. Decent speakers for 7" configuration.
Cons: Android still hasn't wowed me. No expandable storage option. Screen is not built for direct sunlight. Screen isn't very durable (scratches easily). Wasn't easy to find the 32GB internal-storage option.

Summary: If you have no other tablets, the Nexus 7 is a delightful little portable device to suit your simple needs. Email, web browsing, apps, music, and video all do well. The problem still remains on Android as an OS. You can't do a lot of things you should be able to do: Flash, true productivity, real multitasking, approachable navigation, spam/spyware protection out of the box, expand the storage. When I get down to it, I realize I'm not happy with either the iPad or the Nexus tablet. Android has improved over the last year greatly, but that only means it runs a little better and looks a little nicer. I love the choice with Android, which is why I avoided the higher priced iPad Mini or iPad tablet. But when I got a Surface, I realized I didn't have any viable need for the Nexus, which is why I'm likely ditching it to get some money back. It's good, but not the best you can get. However, if price is the biggest dictator for where you money goes, the Nexus 7 does feel premium enough to warrant your cash. It felt better than the Galaxy Tab 2 7" that I had prior to it.
Pros: Elegant look and design Excellent speech synthesis software...I am talking to my tablet and getting answers from a female voice. Quad core Nvidia processor with a fifth video dedicated core running at 1.3 GHz High Definition LCD video screen
Cons: Often the touchscreen software does not work as I would expect it to, especially on hyperlinks The 1.2 MP camera could be a little higher res, say 2.0 MP I would like to see a replaceable battery

Summary: I am a retired electronics engineer who has worked with computers his whole career. My experience goes all the way back to the original IBM PC running DOS 1.0. This Nexus 7 is the nicest computer I have worked with. I am very impressed with Android 4.2.2 upgrade, but some of the touchscreen issues still persist. My N7 connects flawlessly with my CLEAR.NET 4G WiFi modem. When I go into Starbucks and connect to the AT&T network, no data transfer takes place at all. AT&T does not serve data to this Google device. I think this is a violation of US Government antitrust laws. This review was written on 02/17/2013.
