I REALLY LIKE ITGOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR THE FAMILY

Pros: Pressure-sensitive stylus with several drawing and note-taking apps. Split-screen function. IR remote. Fast processor.expandable memory.MULTITASK no lag

Summary: I didn't buy mine from Amazon as I couldn't find it on Amazon. I ended up going to my local BestBuy to pick it up. The reviews online were mostly okay except for The Verge which said it was sluggish and basically was down beat on it.

I decided to buy it and if I didn't like it I would be returning it. I picked it up around 5:30PM on the 16th of August which is the release date. The first thing I did was get rid of all the widgets that are on the home screens. I suspect those might slow it down. I kept only one widget which is the clock / weather widget. I then downloaded all my favorite apps and began to arrange and configure it the way I wanted it.

It comes with Polaris Office, which is better than QuickOffice if you plan to create and edit word docs, Polaris is easier. To view documents and complex excel sheets I find QuickOffice often does the better job. I ed up keep both installed just in case.

I installed 14 games on it. All of which perform very well. There are my favorites, like FieldRunners, and newer ones like Final Fantasy, Ski Safari, Nova 3, Osmos HD, Amazing Alex and Zynga poker that I also really like. This quad core eats through anything with ease.

Got the latest Google Maps, which is so fantastic on this. You can save a Map so it's available without a data connection. Perfect for these WiFi devices. I'm a fan of the new Google Play movies, music, books and Magazines too. But if you prefer Amazon or Nook, those are available as always. It comes with the B&N Nook Reader by default.

There are Galaxy Note 10.1 specific apps like Adobe's PS Touch. I've been using Photoshop since 1996 so I am going to carefully review the built in lessons for PS Touch, a mobile version of Photoshop and see how far I can take that. If you are a subscriber to Adobe's Cloud services you're supposed to be able to edit a PSD with PS Touch, save it to the cloud, and then continue to edit it with Photoshop the desktop app.

There is also S Note. S Note and PS Touch are geared to work well with the new Samsung Galaxy S Pen. This was a primary reason for me to be interested in this particular tablet. The S Pen is so accurate that you can hand write whole sheets of handwritten text with it. I didn't try to have it translated into actual text like type written text. I just left it as my handwriting. Really like it.

Now this new Note 10.1 also has a new Muli-tasking feature. I should say that it doesn't multitask any app combo you want. Just a few apps blessed by Samsung which are: The base browser, not Chrome, their video player, Polaris Office, the picture gallery and their email app, not the GMail email app. Their email app can be used with POP, IMAP and Microsoft's Exchange via the built in Active Sync. So I tend to use that email client for work email and I use GMail as my personal email client.

Now, according to The Verge, multitasking was horrible. Not so fast Verge. I don't know what you guys are doing but I multitask'd just about every way you can on this and it works surprising well. I wrote notes while playing video. I played video while scrolling up and down on a web page. I copied text from an email to S Note, which both apps loaded in the side by side both on the screen simultaneously method. I had no trouble at all.

I bought Autodesk's Sketchpad Pro and can draw with that just fine. I also bought Adobe Ideas, but haven't yet played with that at all. Samsung also has their own kind of store and I am going to see if they have more S Pen specific apps. Really like the S Pen a lot. It's exactly like a typical Wacom Stylus. It's sharp, not that horrible eraser head large stylus you get stuck with if you want to use a stylus on the iPad. Although the iPad has Paper by 53, which I wish I had on here.

I'm really just getting started. I'll have to update this review over the weekend. Only played with this new tab for about 4 to 6 hours now.

Check out Google's Currents for news, and Pocket for saving articles for future reading. Both are great on this tablet. I think all the bases are covered with this tablet. Movies, games, magazines, office and productivity, art creation and editing. It does everything. And since it is Android, you have a real file system which makes email a breeze. Love this thing so far.

Really I lovet.

Pros: The important point is that the Galaxy Note 10.1 is equipped with a pen, and that Samsung has created software specifically designed for use with this pen.

Cons: Camera is very good!
Camera: Main (rear) 5 MegaPixel auto focus with LED Flash.
Sub(front): 1.9 MegaPixel VT Camera.

Summary: Have been using this more than a month now. I am solely sold in with the ample horse power with the flexibility and productivity features of the product. I am software engineer with a lot of meetings and in need of jotting down many ideas quickly. This device has proved to be an indispensable company wherever I go. I can sketch any design ideas while in meetings, taking down notes, modifying office documents, etc.
Also, multimedia fantastic multi media experiences (sometimes even better than my 15" MacBook Pro that I bought two month ago. For example, netflix video gets choppy at times while there was no other program running in my MacBook Pro so I switch to this device and then "Bang"... just enjoy). Another note is that the stylus provides more precise control on multi media territory. For example, ESPN3 (I watch on full desktop mote) works far more buttery than any other device I own. And the stylus enables me to control the progress bar precisely.

Great Mobile Gadget, if not the Best

Pros: - True multitasking is how this kills the competition
- Come with stylus, known as S-pen, I don't need to buy one
- Excellent hardware and I/O speed
- Great gaming performance on Android device

Summary: I had owned iPad 3 and TF700T, both of them were great tablets but not compared to Note 10.1. Note 10.1 is really a great all-in-one mobile gadgets and now I take it out on holidays without my smartphone.

TF700T had better display quality than Note 10.1 without introduction, but the speed of TF700T even after being rooted could hardly come close. TF700T had very bad I/O issues that totally let the performance down. Eventually last week I had enough freezing and rebooting on my TF700T and sold it at a ridiculously low price for Note 10.1.

Note 10.1 on the other hand, thanks to its great Samsung CPU and Mali GPU, it could nearly kills off all competition, even I feel it run smoother than my iPad 3. There's nothing, really no apps I tried took the Note 10.1 down. I once tried open up five apps at once and had them all shown in cascade view on the home screen, no performance decrease I observed and its memory management was excellent.

Let's hope there will be a Note 2 10.1 with a full HD display and octa-core CPU, but I still love my current 10.1.

Pros: Easy to use, the S-Pen is the best out there, the note taking app is perfect for college students, you never have to worry about losing them ever again. Video quality is outstanding and it's aesthetically pleasing with it's sleek look.

Summary: I think that this tablet is worth its weight in gold. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It goes everywhere with me and the fact that it is big and yet still fits in my purse is amazing. It's got multiple purposes, not only is it great for me as a college student with its note taking abilities and amazing s-pen but it also keeps me happy and busy with the s-pen apps and such on long boring trips. I would definitely recommend this tablet for anyone.

Cons: No jellybean update in sight as Samsung had promised.
Lack of accessories available

Summary: The Galaxy Note 10.1 is a high powered, multi-functional tablet great for students, professionals, and creative types alike. It does require consideral time spent learning how to work the devices features. Ability to use writing-to-text conversion in basically every app (on qwerty keyboard, touch and hold settings button in bottom left, choose the logo with a T next to a pen) allows user to pick better note apps than the included S note, and write in everything. I am a medical student, and got it as a gift mostly for note-taking purposes, since I learn by writing (not typing). Once I discovered the ability to write to text in evernote, notate pdf's via ezPDF, I've been very happy. Do know that the OneNote app is HORRIBLE; so don't waste time trying to sync it with your PC. This is a disappointment in Microsoft, not Samsung.

Two of the biggest complaints I've seen elsewhere were the cheap build quality and the screen resolution. I find no faults with either, though I have never owned and iPhone/iPad which most people are comparing it to. Another is the camera quality. If you're looking to take great pictures, buy a camera. This is perfectly acceptable for skyping. Overall, worth the investment.

Pros: good screen, 2GB RAM will take on anything with ease!

just look at it and tell me you don't want it!

Cons: android 4.0 is a little buggy. sometimes apps crash, but i think this is android because it happens on my HTC phone, also 4.0.
the back is a little cheap feeling, especially for the price, but not nearly as bad as reviewers claim.

Summary: i came from an iPad, and bought this phone over the ASUS transformer pad tf700 for a few reasons. one, the ASUS is a tablet, with nothing outstanding about it. i mean sure it has an amazing screen, but haven't you heard it a million times? and in a couple months, that screen isn't going to be the best anymore. other than the pricey keyboard, there;s really nothing special about it. who are you kidding, are you REALLY going to write essays and papers with that compared to a real computer? i know i wouldn't.

now, onto this tablet. well, this does have a few special characteristics, like the 2 GB RAM (which i'm in love with. watch movies and browse the web- no problem) and the S pen. you will probably find yourself using the pen more often than not, like i have. the camera isn't amazing, but it's good enough to skype with people. Overall, i cant think of anything that's a red flag about this tablet. in summary, it's a light, intuitive, well thought out, unique reliable tablet that can multitask better than you? and as far as i know, no other tablet can do that. so go and buy it! you won't regret it.
