Summary: This is a review of the Zeki 7" Android 4.0 tablet. We will be starting with the features of this entry-level tablet that actually can be considered mid-entry, given its specs.
This tab comes with ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) 4.0, where most tabs at this price will come with 2.2 or 3.0, a negative for most users, when 4.0 is fast becoming the standard on all newer Android tablets. Its capacitive touch screen (Resistive touch on most tabs in this price range) is sensitive, with no lag, a welcomed feature for a tablet that can be gotten for $99 at Wal-Mart, boasting 6GB storage; 1GH processor, single core. There's a micro sd slot that can accept up to a 32GB card; an HDMI connection for that big screen adventure; mini usb and headphone connections. It comes with a power supply, but rechargeable via usb from your computer. Battery life is only up to 3 hours, but most can live with that, considering price. You can use static wallpaper or living wallpaper with no effect on cpu usage. And, though I dislike most GPX products (a brand of DPI), this GPX product is a breakaway from their largely despised line of electronics. I suppose that's why the new name of DPI is used.
Most users want Google's Play store, but that is sadly lacking on most low-priced tabs, even on the Zeki. But this is easily circumvented by flashing the tablet. It took me but a few minutes to accomplish this, and I can now download from the Google Play store. Cool! Just Google "flashing the Zeki with Google Play".
Connecting to your wifi is simple, as long as you have the credentials to input. I use my tab up to 50 feet away with no deterioration of signal. This baby rocks!
The stock apps like browser and the video player leave much to be desired, though. I suggest you switch to Opera and/or Easy Brower for a better and faster experience. Download Mobi Player for a great video experience as well.
You may want to put Google Maps on this baby, too. And, though the Store will tell you it is incompatible, it IS compatible. You'll just have to find it elsewhere if you want G-maps.
Game play is fluid and beautiful. I've got Lep's World (Mario clone); Pinball Deluxe; Dead Trigger (see it to believe it!); Angry Bird games; Jeopardy clone; Tetris; Unblock Me and more. And this on a $99 tablet? Yes!
Skype works flawlessly. QuickOffice Pro HD is a must if you work with Office docs. The book reader Aldiko is stock, and pretty good. I have B&N Nook (I love the page-turn animation). Crackle is clear and flawless. If you have the Roku player in your home, you can download the Roku remote app to use your tablet as the controller. Sweet!
Gmail app is something you might want to consider as well. YouTube plays perfectly.
All in all, I am quite satisfied with my choice. I'm quite sure you will be too. There are some negative reviews and some positive reviews of the Zeki on the internet. I'm telling you that this is a great little tablet, and if you are on a budget, or just don't want to buy an expensive tablet for the kid(s), this will do just nicely.
You can buy a nice keyboard to go along with the tablet, should you want to write letters. Just don't forget to get the Mini usb OTG adapter for connecting to your tablet. Go to Amazon and search 7" keyboard and case.

So far, I had the Zeki for 5 months and it is still going strong. I use it everyday. One correction: it has 8GB (not 6)storage.
