Avoid this product at all costs!!

Pros: The price was right, the packaging was good and it was delivered on time.
Cons: It refuses to work correctly on two different computers. There is no technical support so I will never know what is wrong. The web-site and manual are useless. There is ' no refund on opened products'.

Summary: One computer (Vista) the capture screen works but the image crawls back and forth horizontally. The other machine (7-64 bit) shows a green bar at the bottom of the screen which I cannot get rid of (and the image crawls horizontally. The biggest problem is the lack of support. You are on your own. Good Luck!!

spend more for another one

Pros: simple and easy to install. One button start fairly good quality.
Cons: after a few good transitions, now I can't get video on screen to capture. Can't find help anywhere on their site. I am running Vista 32bit, I am about to run out of hope. Not the cables, but the program.
Summary: Get Roxio or Any VHS to DVD. I will guess these will easily work better.

BLUE SCREEN

Pros: It has nice capture software.
Cons: If you like a Blue Screen, this product will do it. Tried it with Vista Laptops, and XP desktops. It comes preloaded with Adware

Pros: No download,install issues with Windows 7, captures the video as advertised very well.
Cons: No instruction manual, HIT and Miss to learn usage. NO Video compression for DVD burns over 1 HOUR or 4.7GB downloads.

Summary: Those that complained of static - it is a matter of making sure you are connected properly for the type of vhs tape. I found with mono tapes, I played it on a mono player with a Y connector for the two audio inputs to the device. That eliminated the static. This happened on a 6 tape series set, and 2 of the tapes had to be done this way, but the other 4 worked fine on a stereo player - so it's the tapes - NOT the device.
You MUST download the proper software for your computer - this will eliminate other issues.

Summary: If it weren't for the static popping in the audio that hurts my ears, this would be an outstanding product. I can't seem to solve the problem. I know others who use this product don't seem to have this problem, so I must have gotten a bad roll of the dice here, even though it was packaged as a new product. I wish I could at least have about 20 bucks back from the 50 I paid, because I did not get the quality of a new product here. An otherwise great product ruined by a major audio issue.
