I have yet to find a flaw in this.

Pros: security, 8gb of space, flip-out usb plug-in, spot for lanyard, compact
Cons: security not compatible with linux, can't permanently delete a certain folder

Summary: This is by far the best flashdrive i've seen so far. The thing that leads it far beyond other flashdrives is it's U3 technology. It's basically the flashdrive, with another piece of hardware around it (metaphorically speaking) which means that in order to access any information on the flashdrive you have to enter the correct password (optional), if you don't have the password, i don't believe you can access the files.
The bad part of that is that you cannot unlock the flashdrive using linux computers. which means you cannot access the information if the flashdrive is locked.
i love how it is so small and compact and it has a switch-out usb plug in which stayes in when it's supposed to and stays out when it's supposed to.
using this i can store whatever i need to, 8gb of space is plenty for me.
the only con (which doesn't really matter) is that there is a folder in the flashdrive called "documents" which has "music" "pictures" "video" folders and if you delete the folder it just comes back. however it doesn't take any space so it's not a huge issue.
another cool feature is the ability using U3 to download applications to the flashdrive and run them straight from it. Currently i have portable firefox and PuTTy on mine. you can also download games and much much more.
bottom line is that so far SanDisk has made a master piece and has perfected the way usb flashdrives work.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Amazing portable device
by Prigge on January 6, 2009
Pros: Can keep on your keys, no cap, U3 technology, easy to use.
Cons: Costs too much money for little memory.

Summary: First I'd like to say that USB Flash drives are still over priced these days, I got a 120 GB external Hard Drive for less than $100. I know it's not the same technology between the 2 devices but this cost about $40 for not even a fraction of the memory. But....this is an amazing flash drive, works on both Mac and XP. Even though USB's are overpriced, I like to be able to carry my important files with me wherever I go

Lost all my data...TWICE!
Pros: Small, compact, but lots of space for storage.
Cons: It corrupted files on four separate occasions, and required reformatting TWICE, so I've lost everything on it TWICE. When I called SanDisk to complain, they said it was working fine since I could still copy data to and from it *after reformatting*.
Summary: DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Save yourself. Don't buy ANY SanDisk products...I couldn't believe it when the tech told me it was working fine. How ...
Summary: DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Save yourself. Don't buy ANY SanDisk products...I couldn't believe it when the tech told me it was working fine. How is losing everything FINE?! He said since I could still move data to and from it, that it was functioning properly. Wow. Thanks for that. This is now one buyer who has been warned.
I'm utterly flabbergasted. I can't believe they would treat anyone that way... But I won't put myself in that position again, and I recommend that you all do the same.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Secures, stores, and the whole nine yards
by gbelk08 on July 15, 2008
Pros: All my data is password protected from the second the drive is plugged in. Plus it holds 8 freakin Gigabytes!!
Cons: Bigger than my previous lexar drive, and the sliding in and out was a little weird at first.
Summary: I got a gift card to BestBuy for my birthday, and since I was heading off to college, I needed something that could hold more than the 512MB Lexar I ...
Summary: I got a gift card to BestBuy for my birthday, and since I was heading off to college, I needed something that could hold more than the 512MB Lexar I had been using, and this was perfect.
So far, my favorite thing by far, is that the drive is security encrypted. It's so simple too, because all you have to do is set up your drive to have a password, and the only time you're prompted after that is when you plug it in.
I'm a very forgetful person, so I tend to leave my drive at the computer I was using (even though my keys are attached). So, the added security helps keep me from freaking out, because library computers make you log out. And you're prompted for the password each time the drive is recognized, so even though it's been in the same computer, it still is password protected.
Besides the security, the drive has allocated folders for music videos and pics. This way you can use part of your ipod without wasting battery life.
The only drawbacks I can mention so far is that it is slightly longer than some more stylish flash drives, so it may be clunky on your key chain. But that is definitely worth it when you consider the fact that it holds 8GB. I've been using it for about 2 months now and still have 6GB remaining.

U3 software works well, there are some programs installed including a trial of McAfee, Skype, etc, but, wishing you can add other programs.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Failed three times!
by rubygalore on September 15, 2010
Pros: Fast and cheap
Cons: Any time I take it to the photo shop they complain it's trying to install software on their computer; but most importantly: it's failed three times and I've lost all my data
Summary: Sadly unreliable. I have a 2GB Titanium that is still going strong after three years, but this one is about half that old and has failed several times. Luckily I ...
Summary: Sadly unreliable. I have a 2GB Titanium that is still going strong after three years, but this one is about half that old and has failed several times. Luckily I haven't lost anything that wasn't copied on a computer somewhere--and you do have to wonder why I'm dumb enough to have it die on me THREE TIMES before I stopped using it--but it's unreliability makes it a curse. Maybe I just got a lemon?
